Dr. Mario & Germ Buster is a solid game that's highly recommended for those who enjoy puzzle games.
-
It's certainly a decent enough block-dropping puzzler, even if most people probably would've preferred Tetris. Or a Virtual Console release for the SNES Dr Mario and Tetris compilation. Either way, 1000 Points feels a bit steep.
-
It's got all the components you could ever ask for in a Dr. Mario game, and the inclusion of Wi-Fi and Wiimote modes gives players a few decent options when approaching it.
-
games(TM)A solid puzzle game with some cleverly designed extras. [Aug 2008, p.117]
-
Dr. Mario looks great, sounds great and plays great, just like the original did 18 years ago, and the inclusion of online multiplayer adds value.
-
This game will be fun for those who enjoy challenging puzzles, but overall it doesn't feel like a very generous remake. Online gameplay is the main reason to buy it again.
-
The Virus Busters mode was a new twist and made good use of the Wiimote, the sticky or slow movement of the pills was frustrating at times, but still fun.
-
The online mode works great but adds nothing to the experience, and the demo-sharing feature is a wonderful idea crushed by Nintendo's online architecture.
-
n-Revolution Magazine UKThe multiplayer modes are fun, but it'll never be as good as "Tetris." [Issue#24, p.27]
