The main game alone will keep you busy for several hours. Constantly grinding your ants and hoarding food will give you plenty of time to become familiar with Ant Nation, but will also become tedious.
-
But in the end Ant Nation is just a fun, quirky game that most people with a sense of humor and at least a passing interest in strategy will get some pleasure out of.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKDefinitely not for everyone but quirky enough to appeal to some strategy fans. [Aug 2010, p.98]
-
Ant Nation might provide a brief diversion for the desperately bored or the blind. But the simple mission requirements are too shallow to really sink your teeth into and these visuals are a joke.
-
Nintendo GamerA sedate management game that's a little lacking when it comes to variety or excitement. [Aug 2010, p.77]
-
The majority of Ant Nation is a slow-paced, disturbing affair with little variety. It controls well, but that's about the only good thing about it. Unless you're starved for ant simulation games, this should be left on the virtual shelf.
-
With boring mechanics, a very short 100-challenge main mode, and lousy production values, I can't recommend Ant Nation to anyone. It's not broken, but it is far from enjoyable.
