Sep 24, 2015Year Walk is one of the gems of the year. Developer Simogo worked with Dakko Dakko to produce what they call the "definitive edition" on Wii U. I’m gonna say this is probably the best version too as the visuals look great on a big HDTV, along with the haunting sounds through a stereo, and the all those extras features on the GamePad.

Sep 17, 2015This game masterfully balances simplicity and challenge, engaging the Wii U in a way that will make it rewarding even if you’ve already played on another device.
-
Sep 20, 2015Year Walk is a two-hour, seven-dollar experience that far transcends both its duration and price tag. It’s a can’t miss for anyone who appreciates dark, nightmarish, and heady storytelling with a (relatively) historically-accurate mythical slant.

Sep 30, 2015Year Walk was already an amazing game, full of atmosphere and ingenuity. The Wii U version, although two years late, adds a very clever use of the Gamepad and a couple of surprises, resulting the best one. But no matter how you play it, Year Walk is a game which deserves to be played, even if it is very, very short.

Nintendo Force MagazineNov 30, 2015Year Walk delivers an eerie and memorable experience based on Swedish folklore. [Issue #18 – November/December 2015, p.21]

Nov 1, 2015This adaptation of Year Walk to the Wii U is nothing short of excellent, as the control system and the interaction between the player and the game works perfectly. The atmosphere is extremely rich and diverse and the player is properly put into the right context thanks to the additional points provided by the game.

Sep 27, 2015From the setting to the puzzles, Year Walk is a short but fascinating game that you should try.
-
Sep 22, 2015An excellent conversion of the original iOS hit, and a wonderfully disturbing horror story that innovates in terms of everything from visuals and interface to its macabre narrative.
-
Sep 17, 2015Now that I’ve finally had a chance to play Year Walk I know exactly why everyone was so fascinated by it when it came out. Hauntingly atmospheric, clever and interestingly presented, it surprises at many turns and rewards players for being smart and attentive. It’s a bit of a short run, but it ends right when it needs to, leaving itself in the player’s mind for long afterwards.
-
Sep 17, 2015Those who've played the game already may find little reason to pick up another version, but anyone who's missed out so far has little excuse not to dive in now.
-
Sep 17, 2015Taking Swedish mythology and crafting a puzzle-based horror game will definitely please Wii U owners who are looking for something fresh and interesting to play. The Wii U version has a few very small issues, but overall it presents some great new takes on the Gamepad, that fans will definitely want to check out, as long as they can get past a couple of small missteps.
-
Nov 17, 2015It’s not a bad game by any means, and I think some fans of both dark art and horror will enjoy this game much more than I did, but for me, I have to hark back to that abstract art analogy I used earlier.
