    Toki Tori is still the challenging mix of platforming and puzzles that we knew and loved, even more so in this new Wii U version with the few little improvements bringing the experience to a whole new level of enjoyment.

    Toki Tori seems to improve with every release and the Wii U version is no exception. The possibility to interact within the Miiverse, as well as Off-TV Play, the rewinding function and the extra levels make this quite an attractive purchase compared to previous iterations of the game. With its low sales-price being the icing on the cake, Toki Tori will make plenty of players glad with their purchase.

    If you had the opportunity to play this title for the PC, the Wii U edition is no different. Despite the existence of the fifth world, the lack of the level editor can make a difference. Still, Toki Tori is a very inventive and accomplished game.

    It's really hard to find any fault with this game. There isn't really any replay value, but with the amount of puzzles, it's hard to hold thatIt's really hard to find any fault with this game. There isn't really any replay value, but with the amount of puzzles, it's hard to hold that against a game of this price. The only reason I can see that a person wouldn't like this game is if s/he didn't like puzzle-platformers in general. For anyone who is a fan of the genre, this is a must have.

    The art and music are wonderful, the touch screen features are subtle and optional (as they should be), and the puzzles themselves are just perfect. The controls work exactly as they should (I would recommend using the D-pad rather than the analog stick for movement). One of the features that I thought I wouldn't like but ended up loving is the ability to rewind time so you don't have to restart every time you make a mistake. I thought it would cheapen the experience, but I realized that the point of this game is purely figuring out the solution. Executing the solution once you've figured it out is just a formality, so making you restart every time you mess up would have been pointless.

In fact, Toki Tori is the most completely innocent and cuddly game character in a long time. And he stars in an excellent game, one that actually came out for Gameboy years ago. This wonderful indie game by Two Tribes involves controlling this very cute little bird (who looks even cuter when wearing a Santa hat) in a 2D environment collecting eggs. That’s all.
    While it may seem simple, this puzzle game is very clever, even in the early stages, and will challenge even the most experienced of puzzle enthusiasts. Toki Tori has a number of powers which are gradually introduced throughout the game. One for example, is the ability to build a short bridge in front of him over a gap. Toki Tori only has a specific amount of these resources to spare per level, which means you have to use them sparingly and wisely. On top of that, the requirement for combinations of these powers mean each level has an extremely clever solution. I sometimes got stuck for long, long time.
    Toki Tori’s visuals also look pleasing beyond that adorable bird. Levels look just as good on the gamepad, something not all games can say. Toki Tori’s animations are especially cute: keep turning around quickly and he will get dizzy, then shake himself normal. Fall off a ledge and he slowly flaps to the ground with an adorable expression on his face.
    But Toki Tori’s level design is what secures it as an excellent game. It’s simply unrivalled. Sadly, on this port, there’s not the option to continue that cleverness into a level editor, which is the only thing missing from this intelligent, and super-cheap, puzzle game.    … Full Review »

As a classic puzzler, Toki Tori stretches the mind to the fullest, so don't be put off by the cuteness of this humble game. The various items must be used in their correct positions and at the correct time in order to solve the puzzles at hand. Otherwise, you'll find yourself reaching for that rewind button more than you'd like to. Well worth the purchase, especially if puzzlers are your forte. Toki Tori will keep you occupied for hours comparable to most full-priced games.… Full Review »
