This game is a lot of fun to play with friends and family. The controls are simplistic and surprisingly intuitive which makes it easy to pick up and play for anyone. The are many modes to choose from that keep the game from getting stale and repetitive, however, some game modes are harder to understand for non gamer audiences. It is a great couch multiplayer game that is fun for everyone. The only things I find lacking are 1. The gamepad usage. The gamepad is used as a fifth player commentator screen. The person who has this usually finds they are having the least fun, because in essence they aren't even playing the game, only watching. 2. The vertical aiming relies on the wii remote accelerometer, which can cause some inaccurate aiming moments, and these are frustrating. 3. This is a Unity game, so the graphics and assets used are not the best of quality. Now it is on the Wii U also so that can be a factor, and sometimes I find it hard to understand exactly what is happening on screen. The framerate can also dip here and there for a 4 person split screen game. Other than those downsides, this game is great fun and my family has enjoyed it immensely! Expand

Swap Fire is not a bad game. Its charming presentation and central hook is fun, and it's always nice to see a local multiplayer game in this generation. But its control issues and lack of multiplayer options seriously inhibit Swap Fire's lasting appeal. With more polish and tuning, Swap Fire could have been great. There's potential here; it's just not all realized.
