There is great variety in character choices, stages, and a TON of unlockable/collectible content. And of course, the multiplayer both online and offline is amazing. Games with this much polish and content are hard to come by these days and this one definitely satisfies. As per usual to the Smash Bros. series, this game appeals to both casual and hardcore gamers and does a great fan service to its players.

If I had to pick a flaw (and it's hard to find one), I would only complain about the lack of a deep single player experience like what was in Brawl. I understand their reasoning for not including one and of course, the multiplayer is by far the most important part of the game.

Smash Bros. is well-worth buying a Wii U console for if you've been waiting. There are several solid titles out but this one takes the cake. Very fine work from Nintendo and many hours of enjoyment to be had with this gem.

Between the increased amount of stages/characters, new modes, custom move sets, functional online, and 8-player smash...there is no shortage of exciting new content to enjoy for smash fans looking for something new. For those who have never played a smash before, jump right in and enjoy the ride!

To me it's a party game with a learning curve that can keep you amused and bettering yourself for hours upon hours. I imagine I'll attend some competitive events as a spectator if the Smash eSports scene takes off again with this iteration, but overall my interest is essentially casual while writing this review.

That said, this is a fantastic new addition to the series. We had a "Smash Bash" party the day after release and had an absolute blast. Smash 4 is still a phenomenal party game and with the 8 player Smash you can involve just about everyone who's interested in playing simultaneously at modest gatherings.

Almost everything about this game is stellar, so let me just list my minor gripes:
    - Smash Tour is somewhat dull
    - There is no Smash Run like 3DS Smash on the Wii-U, only the aforementioned Tour
    - Acquiring duplicate moves, trophies and customization items can be frustrating
    - Sometimes the controllers get glitchy when you're using GameCube and/or Pro Controllers
    - My friends are better than me

So Smash Tour is a board game adaptation of Smash Run. It's much less engaging in my opinion. In fact, it honestly just about puts me to sleep. Going between monotonous board movement and playing matches with characters you don't choose just isn't all that enjoyable to me. I really wish they would have just kept Smash Run on the Wii-U just like 3DS instead of this mode.

As for the controller issue I mentioned, we had particular trouble with the GameCube controller adapter, but it was easily rectified by unplugging the GameCube controller and plugging it back in. Sometimes our Pro controllers would send inputs without us touching them as well, forcing us to reboot the entire system to resolve. Overall though, we may have spent a total of 15-20 minutes fighting buggy controllers during a 10 hour Smash session, much of which had 7-8 players going... so it's really not that bad.

Those negative points aside, this game is nearly perfect.

The interface is fluid and beautiful. The game's graphics are simply astounding. I think I've only noticed one shadow in the Orbital Assault stage that I didn't like. There was a bit of feathered dithering going on that catches my eye. Otherwise the texturing, shading and lighting of the game looks so great it's unbelievable. It's about the most "realistic" cartoony graphics experience I've ever seen.

Gameplay is very smooth. In the 30+ hours I've put in so far I think I've noticed two instances of framerate drops... and it could have even been my imagination. I can't believe how smoothly things run in 8-man Smash. I was entirely anticipating a bit of a stuttery situation when things got heavy, but saw nothing of the sort.

I love what they've done with the game's mechanics too. Movesets feel mostly balanced and there have been improvements that I feel add to the competitive potential of the game. The Equipment customization is a neat system that adds to my enjoyment. When I don't feel like improving my game, I can still lazily farm better equipment, which has its own form of amusement and a feeling of progression.

There's so much content in this release and [almost] all of it has immense value to provide. Even the Angry Birds ripoff iteration of Target Smash can be fun and challenging. Events are great, the Co-Op/Competitive opportunities are prolific, and every mode aside from Smash Tour is super fun and well polished.

I have to give this title a 10. Even though I had negative points to express, there's just no way it's deserving of a score so low as 9. If I didn't already have a Wii-U for Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors, this game would have easily pushed me to pick one up. Super Smash Bros 4 is a fantastic title supplementing a legendary series.

This is how you take a successful formula, improve it and fill it with tons of content. Plus it has that special Nintendo polish other developers fail to deliver with their bug-ridden game releases. Should be in consideration for game of the year together with Bayonetta 2. The presentation and graphics are actually stunning apart from a few old stages that didn't really get an HD treatment in my opinion (Bridge of Eldin, I'm looking at you). The character roster is also very big this time around and surprisingly balanced (Greninja is a bit cheap, especially online).

Speaking of online in terms of game modes I think it's near perfect but in terms of performance I did experience some lag but let me tell you it's a LOT better than Brawl was in this aspect.

Last complaint is that I really wanted another Subspace Emissary type of story just like in Brawl. That instead of Smash Tour would have been so much better.

I'm giving it a 10/10 just because I can't go in between so I guess I'm saying I recommend this to anyone.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best Smash games. Customs add variety of the characters, especially when playing with all the same characters. 8-player Smash is the best feature. You'll like some of the stages before you even have the chance of playing the original games, or just choose the theme that is right for stage and the battle.
The challenges in the game is harder than the ones on the 3DS game, like beating Classic 9.0 without losing a life, you use a Custom. There is the challenge without the Custom, but you are allowed to lose at least one stock.
Smash Tour can only be won by luck, same thing for the challenges of letting a Metroid to steal your stats and trying to get them back.
New characters such as Palutena, and Little Mac are fair enough. I was expecting some characters to have new moves. Dr. Mario uses the same moves that he uses in Melee, which itself is the same Mario's in the past game. Now Mario uses FLUDD, his Cyclone is a Down A. Dr. Mario uses a Doctor Cyclone, and his Jump Punch only hits once, which is fine because that makes him different than other "clones." Lucas is cut from Smash. But, the PK moves that he took from Kumatora is now added Ness' Customs. It would be nice if these protagonists can attack with their own moves or have more MOTHER characters.
There's a lot of stage music that are so great that you can't decide which is best for Smash.
Overall, this game is a no disappoint. You better get this game if want to settle it in Smash.

Nintendo packed as much content as they could into this. I can safely say that any one who puts 60$ into this game will have received there money's worth. Of course what good is content if the content itself is terrible, but super smash bros. isn't bad content. To shortly explain smash Bros., it's a 2D fighting game consisting of characters who are (with some exceptions) all from Nintendo brand games and they beat the crap out of each other. And it is fun. The control scheme is very simplistic and easy to understand, as you don't have to mess around with memorizing long combos. Despite its simplicity, smash can get very intense if the players are skilled enough, this has been shown by the large competitive community. Of course you don't have to be a competitive smasher in order to like this game, smash is still a great casual game if you wanna play with 1-7 of your friends. Yes I said 7 because this game features an 8-player smash mode. These matches are so hectic and at times I've found myself losing where my character is. It's still a lot of fun, but if you plan on playing this mode, I advise playing on a larger map. There are also tons of control options so chances are you can get enough of your friends together without having to shell out more cash than you need. The returning modes from brawl are the ones that have been staples in the series. Classic, All-star, Event matches, Home-run, target, and multi man smash but some of these modes have been changed. Classic now has a difficulty meter similar to the one in Kid Icarus uprising, where the more money you bet, the greater your rewards are. But if you die, you will lose some of your prizes. You also now can pick the players you fight rather than having it decided for you, which is nice. The final boss has also been changed, and let me just say this, be ready to throw your controller for how many times you will die to this boss. Oh and there is 2-player classic, which is always welcome. Event matches are similar to what they were, except now they have an additional challenge to them as well as having exclusive co-op ones. You also unlock the various event matches based on which ones you do. All star now has you fighting the characters in the order in which they were created chronologically, as in when they came out. They aren't exactly "hard" to beat, but because you have lots of enemies to fight, it's more or less an endurance test for the player. Target Blast has been changed from brawls. In this one, you now have to hit a bomb and blow up the targets angry birds style. I actually liked this mode more than the one in Brawl, though it isn't exactly a mode you'll be playing too much. Multi-man smash is very much the same, although you now have to fight the mii fighters. Speaking of which, mii fighters are now a thing as well as character customization. You get different movesets and can equip stat boosts, but it isn't exactly anything too deep. Still nice addition though. Home run contest is just as fun as it was back in brawl. In terms of new things to do, there is a lot. The new Crazy orders and Master orders are incredibly fun. Crazy orders specifically. If you are a gambling type, beware this mode. You do a challenge and you can keep doing more challenges until the time runs out or you die. You can cash in whenever you want or you can keep going and try to get more rewards. But if you die, you're going to lose a lot your rewards. Master orders is more so a set of challenges you can pay to do rather than like crazy orders, but it can still be fun. Trophy rush is a nice distraction and can be helpful to those trying to get all the trophies. The new smash tour mode is alright. It play's like this Mario party hybrid, where you roll dice and try to get as many fighters as possible. It ends in a final match where you are pitted against one another and the amount of fighters you have determines your stock. It is a little bit complicated, but there's still fun to be had in this mode. The new character rooster is also very impressive. We got plenty of returning characters but we also have tons of new characters, each with there own unique ways to play. Though I do miss Wolf. The online is also much better than on Brawl. Connection is smooth, and the option to play casual or hardcore gives players the ability to get some good competition to test themselves out. But really, what else is there to say, it's smash bros. Sure there isn't an adventure mode in this one, but the amount of other fun modes this game has made me forget about it. Plus do you really need a story in a fighting game. Pick this game up at full price. Don't have a Wii U? Might be time to consider it my friend. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U earns a 10/10, a must own.

Super Smash Bros for the Wii U is a superb fighting game. Now, to start off, I must say that for players who take this game very seriously or really pay attention to those tiers from previous games, you may dislike this game. Now, to start off, I must say that for players who take this game very seriously or really pay attention to those tiers from previous games, you may dislike this game. With a new games comes a new form of re-balancing so Meta Knight is no longer the god he used to be, although considering the unfairness of him that is a good thing. Anyways, on to an overview of the parts of this game.

Story: This game does not have a story mode, so for fans of the Subspace Emissary you will be disappointed. However, the classic mode is still enjoyable with the ability to choose battles and be able to play with a friend. The addition of a new form to the Master Core fight also makes the mode more challenging.

Graphics: For those of you who care, this game looks incredible, even on an old 360p tv like mine. The characters move very fluidly and the models have the right mixture of cartoon-like and realistic. If the graphics don't seem that great on your tv, simply look at the gamepad, and you will see what I mean.

Music: The music in this game is amazing! Although many classic songs do return from previous iterations, the soundtrack truly stands out in the new remixes. From the spanish themed Gerudo Valley, to the rocking Mega Man Medley the music can make brawls all the more epic!

Voice: Seeing as how this is a fighting game which doesn't focus on the voices, this segment is primarily nitpicky. For many characters, the voices remain similar from the old games, with a few exceptions. The one major offender is Fox. To describe it simply, it sounds as if the new actor had a horrible cold when he came in to provide the voice. As for the new characters, many of them have the actors reprise the role so it is familiar and works well.

Gameplay: The one major thing that (hopefully) you readers care about. The easiest way to summarize this portion is with one question: is this game fun? The answer, is a mighty YES! With a huge cast of characters there is a huge variety of ways to play. From the heavy hitting Little Mac, to the more tactical Robin, there are many playstyles to try. Another major improvement is the ability to change the frequency of Item Drops depending on if you want them to be plentiful or rare. Another improvement for those players who hate the hazards of stages is the addition of Omega forms. This is available for all stages and transforms them into a Final Destination style layout. If normal brawls aren't your thing, you can try out the chaotic 8 man brawls or some the more bizarre returning modes like Coin or Special brawls. Familiar stadium modes also return such as Multi Man Brawl, Home Run Contest and All Star Mode, once again improved with the addition of co-op. Unfortunately for fans of Target Smash, it has been removed. However, it has been replaced with a new Home Run Contest/Angry Birds mode called Target Blast. Simply put, you have 10 seconds to damage a bomb as much as you can and send it flying towards a large collection of targets with the goal being to destroy as much of it as you can. For fans of the 3DS editions Smash Run, it also has unfortunately been removed, it has been replaced instead with a Mario Party style mode called Smash Tour. This mode has players moving around a board collection fighters and stat boosts for one major final brawl. Events have also made a miraculous return with branching pathways instead of a chronological order. Finally, the online multiplayer works very well, for me at least, however I am not considering this a factor as I know not everyone has the best internet connection. Apologies, for skipping over Master and Crazy orders, but I am about to run out of characters.

    My Verdict: 10/10
A fantastic fighting game that should not be skipped for anyone owning a Wii U.

Online is pretty great as well, which they added two modes, For Fun and for Glory. Single Player and Multiplayer Mode is pretty fun as well. I enjoyed Classic, All Star, Stadium and Event Modes as well. 8 Players Smash is such pure chaos with everything happen all at once on screen with lots of Insane KOs and craziness at the sametime and with so many great fun stages to play on, there is quite like but smashing. Also as well is the Amiibos support which i say one of the coolest feature of this game, which all u do is to train them and level them up to level 50 and then put them in 8 Players which there also fun to play with as well. So i must really say that Sakurai and his staff members of Nintendo Really Did a freaken Awesome job with everything making this game best fighting of all time and making this game Super Glorious in HD as well. And with So many Fun Content mode as well even with DLC this is so much fun things to do with friends. Also witn So many alot of Controller Options to with such as The Wii U Gamepad, Wii U Pro Controller, Gamecube Controller(Which u need a adapter for it) Wii Remote, Wii Remote and Nunchuk, Wii Classic Controller, Wii Classic Controller Pro, Fight Pad, Hori Battle Pad, And The Nintendo 3DS (Which u need a copy of the smash 3DS for it) So Once Funnest game ever and should definitely keep making this game More Funner. The reason is simple. The gameplay is engaging, loads of fun, and it's surrounded by a level of production value that is unmatched. The fighting is simple enough for a child to pick up and press buttons and enjoy yet nuanced enough for adults and competitors to dive into the deep end and be rewarded for their knowledge of fighting mechanics and character knowledge.

In my opinion the most important cog to a complete and rewarding gaming experience is in the nuances of gameplay. Smash brothers nails nearly every aspect of the fighting and surrounds it with a coat of polish that is simply sublime. Connecting a signature move like a falcon punch, fireball, or thunderstrike is pure joy. The sound, animations, and responsiveness of pulling it off combine to provide little moments of nostalgic wonder for fans of the characters and more simply for their chosen fighter within the game itself.

Another aspect of the game that must be touched on is the staggering amount of options, customizations, unlockables, challengs, achievements, and game modes packed into the product. Each is filled with polish and is an impressive amount of work and thought into each and will push the game into the 100 hour+ range.

The only knock on the game is that online can have lag which I'd estimate one in eight matches sees gameplay slow to a crawl for a small period.

Go buy this smashing game and play it with or without your bros!

Being an old school smasher, I enjoyed playing the game with the Gamecube pad, but unfortunately, the adapter is in very short supply, so had to manage with the pro controller and the WiiU pad. These are not the only ways to play though, as you can pretty much use anything in your room to play! Wii remote, nunchuk, classic controller and 3DS can all be used to play on the WiiU version, which is great for people who can’t afford the extra pads.

I’m not going to spoil the unlockables, but there are so many characters and stages to unlock that you’ll have a fun time trying to collect everything including all those trophies and stickers! DLC is also planned for new characters, so you can look forward to new or veteran fighters in the games life span. There is also early access to Mewtwo to those who purchase both 3DS and WiiU versions of the game, a character I actively enjoyed playing with in the Gamecube version.

One thing I do miss from a previous game was the Subspace Emissary mode that has been replaced with Smash Tour in the WiiU. This is due to social media being too easily to access, it can spoil the nostalgia of a storyline if browsing a simple website. Smash Tour does stand tall in its place though, where it takes on the role of a mini Mario Party game, but yourself VS other Miis collect upgrades and fighters for the final battle to see who came out on top.

Nintendo have also given gamers something to take their minds off this though with the inclusion of 8 player smash mode, where the cap used to be 4 players or the slight painful rotation mode, you can now have up to 8 players playing simultaneously, all using their own controller from the many to choose from, without having to wait for someone to be smashed off stage to join in the fun!

Nintendo did a great job appealing to all audiences in this game.

Seriously Nintendo is all like "oh you don't like Smash" well then change all the rules to your liking...
"you prefer melee" Well you can use your gamecube controller and take off smash ball.
"don't like certain songs" Then turn them off the playlist.

As an avid Smash Bros. predictor, I was slightly disappointed that the roster wasn;t bigger, but it strikes a balance never seen before in a Smash Bros. game (no completely overpowered characters that have been discovered so far), and customizing character's abilities and specials adds a butt-ton of replay value.
The new modes are all pretty fun too (including Smash Tour, as long as you have a friend with you), but they can get stale after a while. I suggest rotating what you do to provide a bigger variety in gameplay experience.
The stages are incredible- the best of any Smash Bros. game to date. And we get a ton of great music scores to boot as well! Well over 50% of them are going to be going on my phone.
Overall, it makes some slight but successful changes to the Smash Bros. formula and is a blast to play with friends. I give it a 9.5 (rounded up to a 10).

So, is this the game that will sell the Wii U, or are you going to have to spend your pocket money on Nintendo's next console? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is fantastic! It is probably the most fun you could ever have with a video game. This game is a fighting game, in which you get to play as one of over 50 different famous video game characters. The characters all come from a diverse selection of video games made by Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, and Namco (mostly Nintendo). It is also a very unique fighting game, as unlike most fighting games, this game does not rely on health bars or one on one fights. In this game, the object is to knock the opponent off the screen by building up enough damage to knock them off. Also, you can have up to 8 players fighting against each other in the same match. Most fighting games also have complicated special moves that are insanely difficult to learn. Super Smash Bros. on the other hand, made it easy by making all of the characters have the exact same button combinations for all of their moves. This makes the game that much easier to just pick up and play. On top of that, this game also has multiple game modes, each one providing unique ways to play. I can't list them all here, but I will give you a rundown of as many as I can. The main game mode in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U is Smash. This mode has everything you need if you want to have a normal battle with CPUs or friends. The next game mode is called Smash Tour, in which you compete against CPUs or friends on a giant game board. Then there's Classic Mode, which is basically this game's version of Arcade Mode, which is found in most other fighting games. Finally there is All-Star Mode, in which you have to fight every character in the game. There are also loads of collectibles to unlock as you play through the game. These collectibles can be trophies, more music, and more special moves for your character. Which reminds me, another special feature of this game is the ability to create your own fighter. You can create your own version of a preexisting fighter, or you can create your own fighter out of your Mii. This is a fantastic addition to an already fantastic game. Overall, this game's gameplay is insanely fun and enjoyable for pretty much anyone. It goes so much to the point where I would have to say that the only real problem I have with it is that in some cases, it seems too much like the previous games in the series. However, the addition of new characters, stages, character customization, and new modes such as Smash Tour take care of this problem for me. As for the graphics, the game looks every bit as fantastic as it plays. Everything in this game is rendered in HD, making the game one of the most beautiful and fun games I have ever played. This game is much more colorful than any of the previous games in the series. This game has some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game. As for the overall presentation, as you can probably guess, the presentation of this game is also fantastic. It runs perfectly well on the Wii U. I did notice the game froze on me once, but it only lasted for a brief second, and it never happened again. The sound design and music is also very good. The composers for this game really did a great job creating the soundtrack by remixing old Nintendo themes, and creating new themes. Overall, I would have to say that this is not only the best game on the Wii U right now, it is also the best game of the entire Super Smash Bros. series. It is very easy to just pick up and play, has beautiful graphics, and a great presentation to boot. This is a game that everyone needs to play. I recommend going out and buying this along with a Wii U right now!

Besides, there was no story mode in the first game, and the stories in melee and brawl we'rent exactly stellar or well written, and weren't the focus of the game. Don't let the lack of a story mode be a turn off, you'll hardly notice it among everything else they added.

Although the 8-Player game mode might seem to be chaotic at first, no one said you had to use all 8 player slots. With the 8-player mode, you can also have 5, 6, or 7 players if you want. The Sage builder has also been improved and is much more flexible than brawls. We also have an improved challenge mode, and a new co-op classic mode as well.

We have all the the standard modes brawl had (minus sse), all of which have been polished to a shine and tweaked to near perfection. Last but not least, Nintendo cleaned up and fixed smash bros online, no lag whatsoever (unless your internet sucks), smooth as silk. All in all, Smash bros Wii U is an almost perfect game.

I would highly recommend this game to any Nintendo gamer and smash bros fan.

It can be played alone, online in the multiplayer mode or offline with up to 8 people on one console and those 8 player smashes are freaking awesome!! Recommended for everyone who enjoys fighting games, Nintendo characters and party games!

The gameplay and controls are really easy to pick up and learn, if you have played Super Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii or the 3DS version of this game, you will master the Wii U version without stress.
The amount of fighters and stages has increased diversely from Brawl and even has more characters than the 3DS version. All of the stages are really fun to brawl on and there isn't a single stage I didn't like.
There are tons of new challenges to complete, more trophies and many familiar game modes (Classic, events, stadium, all-stars etc.) return, some with slightly new spins and others in their original former glory!
One of the main new modes in the game is 8-player smash, which allows you to play with up to 7 other friends or CPU controlled characters, I personally found 8 player smash to be a lot of fun, I haven't had the chance to play with friends yet, but I simply cannot wait to do so!

    Cons:
Not all of the new modes are awesome, I personally found the Smash Tour mode to be tedious and I personally wouldn't want to sink any of my time into it.

Overall, Super Smash Bros for Wii U is a fantastic experience, it is by far the best game of 2014 (The only other game from 2014 i have played is FIFA 15, and who would give that a GOTY award?) and because of this game alone, there is absolutely NO reason the Wii U shouldn't be selling well.

10/10 (The problems aren't even worth mentioning as they are so minute and don't take away from the experience)

I got attached to mine after it started kicking my butt and "adapting". This is easily the best game of 2014. Nintendo is going to have a good holiday season!

Literally the best console game ever created. I can't say it's THE best game ever created, because Sakurai's other flawless masterpiece, Kid Icarus: Uprising, takes the cake. Lets start off by rebutting any complaints.
-Are people really complaining about the name? [facepalms intensify]

-The clones. Anyone who hates these are "children" who "cannot be helped" -Masahiro Sakurai. He explained that clones were once alts, but added as additional characters, with little effort, so we could have extra characters. How could anyone be salty about them? It's not like they took the slot of another character. linkamo, for example, is a helpless child. he stated that " They’ve taken away a few of the better characters (like Snake and Ice Climbers) and replaced them with 14 new characters. Except, most of those characters are minor revisions to other characters. (Seriously… “Dark Pit” couldn’t have just been a different skin of “Pit?”)" MOST of the newcomers are minor revisions? Since when is 2/14 most? What an idiot. He also thinks Snake and IC's were replaced, when, in reality, the IC's were cut for technical reasons, and Snake was removed because Konami has been a jerk to Nintendo.

-Adventure mode/replay value. "Adventure" mode is the same thing every time you play through it in Melee and Brawl. Smash4's big mode is Smash Tour, which was designed so the same events are rarely produced. So which has more replay value? A mode that is the same every time, or a mode that is never the same? The answer is obvious. Since adventure had to be cleared as everyone in Melee, it got super repetetive, just as Classic (to a lesser degree) and All-Star do. The community also hated Brawl's SSE Great Maze, so I really don't see why people wanted the story mode to return (i personally liked it, but that's just me, and a completely new mode prevents this game from feeling like Brawl 2.0)

-Brawl 2.0: This game added more to its predecessor than Brawl did, and people are calling it Brawl 2.0, but not calling Brawl Melee 2.0. What. The. Hell? Special Orders, Conquest, Smash Tour, Custom Fighters, Trophy Rush, Photo Studio, Paint, the list goes on. Brawl only added Tourney and Online mode basically. Yes, the pace is closer to Brawls, it is is undoubtedly faster. Even so, they added things like For Glory and Omega forms to appease those who don't play smash the way it was intended. (Sakurai did state that Smash was supposed to be chaotic and fun). This game is actually closer to melee in one aspect: the amount of clones (#REKT)

-Customization. People say this is a dumb mode. K. Don't use it if you don't want. However, these make Classic mode and Hard Events so much easier. Seriously. I have a Donkey Kong with Lifesteal and Auto-healing, and he is a tank. Custom specials also make clones feel unique.

-Stages: There are a lot less new ones than Brawl, but if you add he new stages from Smash 3DS, we're golden. Even so, almost all of the new stages are amazing and unique. This is most likely because of the Wii U's advanced hardware being able to make more dynamic stages. You can't look me in the eye and say Mario Circuit 8 isn't an outstanding stage.

-8 Player Smash: It's fun with friends, but if you give this game a bad score because of an optional mode, you probably dont have any. (#REKT)

-Not many unlockables: Tell me again how having most of the content from the start is a bad thing? Unlocking was always a drab to me. Just gimme my stages and character and do it quick. Most of us already unlocked everything in the 3DS version too, so doing it all AGAIN would be tedious. If you want motivation to try new things, there's still the Challenges and Events. Speaking of which, the Events are notably better than Melee's and Brawl's, and you get rewards for completing them. They're also non-linear.

-Blast Zones too high: I'm guessing that, if this is a problem, you're missing a few chromosomes. There's something called "damage ratio" in the game that you can adjust.

-Too many fire emblem characters: Eh. I can't believe people want Roy to return as DLC.

-Online lag: I rarely play online, so any issues with it are not issues to me. Invite some friends over. Oh wait. I forgot that people who give this game a low score for dumb reasons have no friends.

-Amiibo functionality: Personally, I found the amiibos to level up too fast. You can get one to level 50 with ease. The process is still enjoyable. If you think otherwise, no one's forcing you to buy an amiibo figure.

-Classic Mode: Its better. You pick who you want to fight and which kind of rewards to recieve.
    I'm out of characters.

Let's not forget this game's soundtrack, which is undoubtedly the best of any game, the stunning HD visuals, the fan requested newcomers who mostly have unique mechanics. Special orders are great. Master is a great way to earn some quick coins, and Crazy is the only reliable way to get CDs. You also get a ton of rewards at the end of Crazy Orders and Smash Tour

First off: I've been a Smash Bros Fan since the N64 Version. I've played and still play Melee and Brawl and I loved the 3DS version. But the WiiU version is even better.

The most amazing new feature is "8-PLAYER SMASH". Now you are able to play Smash-Bros with 8 players.

You are able to purchase a "Gamecube-Adapter" which lets you use the classic Gamecube controller.

The new All-Star Mode (Its the reverse version of the 3DS mode)lets you play through the history of Nintendo. Its super fun. After every fight you get teleported to a hub where you have 3 items to heal yourself(Just like in the boss mode in brawl)

The WiiU version has a different "Classic-Mode" than the 3DS version: The player advances based on his/her skill and defeated fighters can be used as teammates. You also have a rival during the mode. You also face bosses like Master Hand.

The 3DS version has its exclusive mode "Smash Run", but the WiiU version has an even better mode called "Smash Tour". Its hard to describe, its kind of like a mix between Smash Run and Mario Party.

A thing I really like is the Mii Fighter. You can customize his full moveset and give him different clothes/outfits.

You also have amiibos(NFC-Figures like "Skylanders") that you can train and battle against. They each cost arround 15$ and are not needed to play the game. You can also customize their moves and level them up.

In the online mode you can play "For Fun"(with items) which is a bit more casual.
Or you can play "For Glory"(No items) which is kind of competitive. It works really well. I can play with my friends from overseas and there is no lag. If you want a more stable connection, you are able to purchase a LAN-adapter for the WiiU

There is also a new mode called "Special Orders". There is "Master Order" and "Crazy Order". To play them you need to spend coins on "tickets" that you gain while playing.

And now there is a "event-mode" in which you have to fulfill missions.

Of course you can still play your Stadium games like "The Home Run contest" and "Multi Man Smash". You can even play those modes with a friend.

I might even go as far as saying, that it is the best Smash Bros game that came out. But that depends if you like the speed of the game. Its faster than Brawl but a bit slower than Melee. I think its the perfect speed.

This game is amazing. If you like fighting games/Nintendo you should get this game. 10/10.

Finally, this is what the Wii U needed. It is the best Smash Bros. game yet, it has explosive amounts of content and its incredibly fun. The game runs without a hiccup, with a solid 1080p and 60fps even in 8 player smash with items set on high. The single player experience was pretty enhanced too.

Now, unlike in brawl, the online multiplayer is awesome, it runs without lag. There are two modes in online, one is "For Fun" and the other is "For Glory" for fun is for casual party game and for glory is for serious competitive matches.

This is the most fun you will ever have with a videogame.

    Beautiful Graphics, Smooth gameplay.

Being able to customize my mii and get it to fight Link and zelda is just mind blowing.

10/10 i'd say if you ask me.

There is no such thing as a perfect game. However, Super Smash Bros for Wii U comes as close to perfection as you can get. With great and diverse characters, well-designed stages, beautiful music, glorious graphics, engaging game modes, and honestly one of the best multiplayer experiences I have ever been a part of, Smash Bros is why you should finally own a Wii U.

One of the things that surprised me the most was how diverse and fun the new characters were to play as. Little Mac with his unique K.O. punch, Shulk with his multiple play-styles, Villager's incredible fun and unique moveset, and I have just scratched the surface. These new characters, along with improvements to the old characters, gives the best roster of the series hands-down. And the control of these characters are amazing, being simple to use yet complex to master. And with some many different controller options (wii remote, gamepad, gamecube controller, pro controller, classic controller, wii remote w/ nunchuck, 3ds) you are going to find your comfortable controller option.

Multiplayer is unbelievable. 8-player smash, while taking some time getting used to, is so chaotic, engaging, and fun. And that's the best word for smash bros: fun. Esp. fun with friends but even on the solo side. Classic mode is revamped and is the best version in the series yet, by actually choosing what fights you want to fight. Event mode, Special orders, there is just so much replay value.

My only complaint is Smash Run. It's very underwhelming, confusing, and more of a drag than anything. I give credit for trying something new, but this isn't how it should be done. One dull mode doesn't stop this game though, not at all. You have challenges to complete, trophies to buy, music to collect, modes to conquer, endless hours of fun here.

    Pros
    +MULTIPLAYER (2-player, 4-player, 8, whatever! It's a blast and brings friends together)
    +Diverse characters
+Excellent stages (Donkey Kong's foreground and background, Mario Galaxy, etc)
+Control and so many controller options
    +Beautiful Graphics
    +Nostalgic Music(what'd you expect?)
    +All the fantastic game modes
+So much to do and experience in this game
+Solo play is NOT a drag! Just as fun!
+I can go on and on. This is just a wonderful experience.

    Cons
-Smash Run is very confusing, not worth your time
-Major nit-pick but I hate how most characters are unlocked from the very beginning! Like NO!

    Score-9.9/10(Rounds to 10/10)
Not perfection, but pretty dang close. Seriously, buy this game. It's one of the many reasons to own a WiiU and it is the ultimate party game. I am not sure if this is my favorite game in the series, I'll see in the upcoming games of play. However it is off to a wonderful start.

This is a great game no matter what anybody says. You could think "Oh, well you are good at the game! I'm terrible!" Well same here. I am terrible at this and find it very fun. You can play with up to 8 PLAYERS! Never have anybody wait for their turn again! There is Amiibo, which yes does cost $12.99 in the US, but it can act as a player. This is the reason to BUY A WII U. It is ultra fun and will keep you entertained for hours. This is the only game, besides LOZ: OoT, I can give a perfect 100. I like Sony, I own a PS4, but this is the best thing ever. If you don't like this, then you hate fun.

Perfecto, Si la versión de Nintendo 3DS es perfecta, la versión de wii u es una joya. Divertido en todos los sentidos, con mucho contenido extra y con varias opciones de juego, uno de los mejores juegos del año.

This game is great. It has everything you'd wish for in a smash bros game. The characters are incredibly balanced, the graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is immense, the sheer content is overwhelming. The online has little to no lag, and it definitely feels like the definitive version of smash 4.
I'll probably put hundreds of hours into this with friends. Maybe even more. It's so addicting

This is one of the greatest game ever made. The soundtrack is undeniably the best in video game history. it includes the best tracks of Nintendo's (and third party companies) history, which would make this the best soundtrack ever on its own, but it also includes several remixes of old tracks that sound AMAZING! Look up Spark Man Stage music on YouTube and you will know what I mean. TheyThis is one of the greatest game ever made. They even decided to go ahead and remix music from Mario Kart 8! A game released a few months ago on the Wii U as well! That's called dedication. Anyway, the gameplay has been perfected from past games. Remember those characters in Brawl of Melee that could spam their regular combo? Yeah, screw that, those aren't found here, thank God. The roster of characters is astounding, including characters like Mega Man, Pac-Man, Rosalina (a personal favorite of mine), and even MewTwo in the near future. Also, when you get above 100% in damage, your fighter now has a smoke effect that instantly warns you when you are at risk of being killed. Also, when you attack an opponent when they are at a dangerous health, they now emit a red spark letting you know that they would probably die then. The maps in this game are the best I have seen in a Smash Bros game, or any fighting/racing/party game. They are all unique in cool ways, like how the Mario Galaxy stage has its own special gravity along the planet, and the Mario Kart 8 stage puts you up against the track at different angles so the karts can do massive damage from multiple locations. Unlike the 3DS version, the stages that returned from past games were much better than stuff like Jungle Japes on 3DS (lol wat). In terms of new game modes, there is so much new stuff here. First, they expand on the returning modes by adding competitive/co op multiplayer to familiar game modes. Also, classic mode is changed drastically. It features you on a game board advancing based on how well you do. Target Blast is okay. It certainly isn't as good as before, but it is still decent. They should have included the old mode, but whatever. All star mode has been improved from the 3DS version since you don't have to jump over the door to get to the health items. The door is on an elevated platform, so you can walk under it to get to the items. The online mode is the best ever with it actually functioning unlike Brawl. It features For Fun and For Glory, depending on how good you think you are. The game has SO MANY CONTROLLER OPTIONS. There is something in the controller department for anybody. The only problem i have with this game is that the blowing item thing from Skyward Sword is ridiculously OP. Buy this game. Give Nintendo all of your savings even though the game only costs $60. Just consider the rest to be a tip for making this masterpiece in the first place. Expand
