    You are that ambitious explorer. Exploring through tree, snow, and sand, you will be able to manipulate the world to how you see fit. The world before you is made up of cubes. Using your pickaxe, or even just your hands, you can break blocks and use them to either build structures or craft unique items. Underground lies rare metals, such as gold and diamond.     The absence of features such as an acceptable draw distance, NPCs, a useful crafting system - and much more besides - makes Stone Shire feel like a rushed and unfinished demo of a better game.

    While Stone Shire has drawn inspiration from Minecraft regarding its mechanics and aesthetics, it seems to have failed when it comes to everything else. There’s no sense of purpose and no incentive to move forward on this game, where the lack of life and a flat experience prevail over everything else.

    It’s difficult to judge Stone Shire as its own product since it doesn’t offer a single unique feature. If you do not already own Minecraft and this sort of title appeals to you then Stone Shire may offer you a couple of hours distraction at best, however since Minecraft is now available on WiiU I would strongly advise paying a little extra and buying the real thing.
