    The platforming is tedious at times, with you controlling both the boy and his shadow, though figuring out how to get through each area isn't all that difficult. Sadly, the game is somewhat short, only taking a few hours to get through. But if you're playing with someone, it can make for a fun afternoon.

    The puzzles are fun, it could benefit from some polish in terms of presentation, but you'll enjoy Shadow Puppeteer more with a second player by your side.

    A game with a lot of nice qualities and a small smattering of flaws. The co-op / shadow mechanic is a fantastic idea and this is a lovely little game to showcase it. However the puzzles themselves feel a tad dry and could have been expanded upon. I really like the game’s style and atmosphere, however due to the convoluted nature of single player mode I believe you’d probably get the most out of this game if you are playing with a friend.

    The overall impression is a positive one, but occasionally the lights of this puppet show flicker, making the strings visible and taking away a little bit of the magic.

    There are many great games on the Nintendo eShop, but unfortunately Shadow Puppeteer is not one of these games.

    If you do decide to take the plunge, you can't go wrong with the puzzles and story, but you will have to put up with a lot to truly enjoy yourself.

    In single-player mode, Shadow Puppeteer is a much weaker game, technical issues and control problems become more evident and it's not challenging enough to justify a new go. Despite being based on several good ideas, Shadow Puppeteer performs way below its potential.

    Shadow Puppeteer tries to do interesting things, but ultimately comes off as unpolished, bland, repetitive, and mediocre. I really tried to enjoy it, but I just couldn't bring myself to care about it.

A lonely boy that suddenly finds a New friend in an very unexpected place. I love this concept! ^-^
    They have not dissapointed me in the use of shadow and light. Creatively done, Sarepta studio!

    I've played it the way it should be played, as a co-op game but also in single mode. To try it alone can be a nice challenge, but I will recommend co-op. It is more fun that way! It feels more like a victory to beat the game together with someone else. Play it With Your sibling, boy-/girlfriend, friend etc.. You may argue, but you will laugh even more! As a Tim Burton fan i absolutely love the game art and music! ^-^

    The only thing I wish for in this game is for it to last longer. Maybe the story could have been clearer, but again it is nice when you have to think a little bit for yourself to understand it. And it is really beautifull how the story is told without any dialogue. You have to read the bodylanguage and faces. Pay attention to it when you play. And play it twice! ^-^    … Full Review »

    Shadow Puppeteer is a very clever    MUST OWN GAME FOR WII U. 10/10. A True Gem. Arguably One Of The Top 3 3d Platformers On The System...

    Shadow Puppeteer is a very clever game that combines both 2d and 3d Platforming elements to create a game that blurs both platforming genres. The catch being, if one character strays to far from another character, the bond between both breaks and you die.

    The game requires you to solve puzzles, many of which require you to interact with the shadows of objects to manipulate the 'real world', and in turn, you use real world objects to manipulate shadows.

    Numerous situations may require you to control both characters at once, and can be quite challenging.

    Numerous collectable orbs are hidden throughout the game and can be collected by trying to stretch out long distances, the catch being, if you go to far, the link between each character will snap, and you will die. The risk and reward factor prove to be very amusing.

    Story is fantastic, it revolves around the main character (and his shadow) following a mysterious shadow villain that creates light/shadow monsters (as you progress through the story). Atmosphere is fantastic also.

    The game also contains some boss battles and running sections which require quick thinking, to avoid being destroyed by shadow / light creatures.

    All in all, a very fun and creative game. Would love to see a retail release of this game on the console at some point, but its well worth the Eshop price currently.    … Full Review »
