I am all for teaching them to read and write their abc. I come from a diversified approach. I dont care if its traditional or conventional or contemporary approach. I want my kids to have access to any approach and adapt. So i love apps that utilize technology. I am biased in support of apps like this. But i am rather disappointed. I watched the user interface for this app and saw immediately how poorly it implements open structure for kids. For kids to learn they need to follow a structured format (ie follow the dotted lines) and a freestyle writing. Any good app should have both built into the app. And it shouldnt be too hard to include both. Especially if ur charging $20. I have yet to find an app that truly captures the core essentials of abc teachings. This app needs a bit of work to be comprehensive. It is worth $3 in my book. $20 is outrageous. If u want, use “Preschool basic skills: fun in space” which is definitely on iOS and i know it once was on android. Its a few dollars. Then use “colors! Lite” on iOS which is free or any doodle app on iOS or android for that creative practice. Wii U is a great accessible item and i wished it had better support. But “now i know my abc” unfortunately doesnt cut it for me unless its $3. Not worth the $20. I do want the developers to flesh out this app. It easily can be 5 stars if they make those small changes. This is a product where layout is critical. That positive reinforcement is important for the 3-4 year to keep doing it. Perhaps working with an educational counselor to see what kids at that age need to learn and incorporate more word associations to each letter. Kids have options to learn from books, audio, tv programs, and where the tablets can come in is the active participation. As long as it can sustain attention of little kids.. thats what will make this app valuable. Don’t underestimate the power of audio to stimulate a child. The smallest of changes that make or break the app. Conclusion: pass on this app if >$3.… Expand
