What it does right: You can't go wrong with the basic gameplay for the Lego licenced style. This game continues with that design. The story is also a great parallel to the movies and has subtle bits of humour to go along with it.

What it does wrong: Stability. I'm hoping this is only true of the WiiU port, but you can't play this game for more than an hour without it freezing and effectively shutting down the console (as in, pressing the power button on the controller actually restarts the WiiU)! That's an epic fail and surprising Nintendo let it slide. Unfortunately, the instability of the game really takes away from the fun as you suddenly find yourself restarting the console and restarting the last mission, hoping to get more than 5 minutes in case the game crashes again.

Lego Marvel’s Avengers is a wonderful recreation of the source material.

It just feels particularly unnecessary thanks to the existence of Marvel Superheroes. [Issue #20 – March/April 2016, p.72]

Fans of LEGO games and the Avengers movies will find plenty to like, but technical shortcomings mean it falls short of its full potential.
