    Jotun: Valhalla Edition is a marvelous effort that clearly stands out amidst the indie games pool. With its rich visual environment, very engaging boss battles, extremely demanding combats that will require full commitment from the player and recurrent replay value, this is a game that will certainly keep everyone clinging on to their Wii U GamePad for a very long time.

    Jotun: Valhalla Edition is a fantastic game from cover to cover. From the Icelandic voice over that plays as you read the plight of Thora to the painterly vistas of Norse hell and the trials, tribulations and boss battle in between, it is an artful title that marries slick and simple game play with poignant storytelling in a way few games can.

    Despite the occasional frame rate issue and immense challenge, Jotun is a game that lovers of old school action adventure titles will love. Combining beautiful, hand drawn visuals with immensely rewarding gameplay, I loved the time I spent with it. It’s a game that draws players in with its beauty, and keeps them coming back with smart boss design and a feeling of accomplishment that few games today manage to grasp.

    This game is great. If you like hand-drawn art in games like Muramasa and epic boss battles akin to Monster Hunter then this is the game for you. Overall the presentation, music, sound, and level design is just as epic as the story. The biggest issue I had involves a crash in The Crater due to the Wii U chugging on an abundance of lighting effects.

    The boss fights are incredible, the world feels alive, and there is something soothing to the exploration. At the same time, though, the exploration segments tend to carry on for too long and without much interesting happening along the way, so a lot of the game feels like padding.

    - Beautiful art style
    - I could see that the game was made with love (I don't know, it just felt like I needed to say it)

    Cons:
    - So that u can fight each boss u have to get the runes, and to get then u have to do some stuff and most of then are BORING. It doesn't take that much time, but, still, all the time I fought a boss I was like "damn... The runes again". I think they were created for a educational propose, since in each search they show u some stuff like the Jörmungandr, the 4 deers, Brokk etc. Some stories are nice to hear and I'll give a hand that each place is unique and beautiful, but still most of then are just tiresome.

    Conclusion:
    I would say to buy it in a promotion or something like that. It is a good little game, cute and stuff, but I don't know if I would buy it full price knowing some other games that has the same price as this one. But give it a try, I had a great time playing it, and, since I work and study, at the end of the day it was fun and relaxing to have something other then problems to think about. Recommend it (so that u know, the game is very short, like 6 hours)    … Full Review »

    Even though I bought this on sale, it still wasn't worth it. The visuals are amazing, but the gameplay is a snoozefest!
