    Citizens of Earth runs for about 15 hours if you tackle a decent amount of side-quests and level up your team, which is pretty short by RPG standards.

    The idea of Citizens of Earth is wonderful. The game is hilarious, huge, and chalk-full of personality. It is quite the shame that there are a few design and technical issues that limit the title from realizing its true greatness.

    A salute to Atlus for bringing something unique and fun to the market so early in this new year; here’s hoping Eden Industries gets a shot to expand on the foundation it laid here with a future sequel.

    Citizens of Earth tries really hard to remind us of the RPGs we played a long time ago, and he succeeds a bit too much through dumb progression, tons of battles and quite some grinding. At the same time it's a colorful and smart adventure with irresistible characters to recruit.

    Zany humour finds wonder and wackiness in the mundane, while the recruitment system lets you build a versatile army that changes the way you explore and battle in a JRPG.

    It provides some welcome sense of humour, its cartoonish graphical style is very adequate and the voice work is fantastic. Nevertheless, it is far from being a groundbreaking game due to some issues with the way the plot progresses, as well as technical stability problems and very long loading times.

    I'd give it a 10 if it weren't for all the crashes and almost unbearable load times.     The good:
    Obvious Earthbound inspirations which is great if you like Earthbound.
    The combat system is presented visually similar to    The good:
    Obvious Earthbound inspirations which is great if you like Earthbound.
    The combat system is presented visually similar to Earthbound but is mechanically unique and interesting with a wide variety of citizens to recruit each with unique play style and abilities.
    The world is detailed, colourful and interesting with lots of things to see and explore.
    The characters and story are decently written with good comedy.

    The bad:
    The game doesn't do a good job of describing what exactly you have to do, I realize this is an inspiration from older games but if you're going to be inspired by old games do the good thing not the annoying things.
    There's a part where you're required to write down clues. Once again, if you're going to be inspired by old games leave out the nonsense that was bad back then too.
    Way to many enemies that aren't really worth fighting making it frustrating to complete a task.

    Lo mejor:

    - La estética, es de un gran buen gusto y variada.
    - El humor.
    - Los minijuegos para reclutar a los distintos ciudadanos.

    Si hubieran mejorado el tema de los combates, estaríamos hablando de un juego de 7-8, de 8-9 si la BSO estuviera a gran nivel, de 10 si no existieran bugs, existiera versión física y con un bonito manual de instrucciones. ;)    … Full Review »
