It is definitely what everyone says: Angry Birds + Castle Defense. I'm giving it a light recommend, but only at $2-$3. I would not recommend it at full price. This is a mobile game at its core, and as such, the price should match. It just isn't for me, but I can see how people would like it. I think I got it in a bundle which resulted in it being $1 or less, which is about what it is worth imo.

A very unique twist to the tower defense genre. The control scheme is actually quite difficult to master, which adds to the fun challenge of it all. The online multiplayer is fun and usually not hard to find a match. I have two gripes with the game: The music is a bit generic and boring, to be honest. Also, once you figure out how to play the game, the gameplay becomes a bit stale. UnlikeA very unique twist to the tower defense genre. I have two gripes with the game: The music is a bit generic and boring, to be honest. Also, once you figure out how to play the game, the gameplay becomes a bit stale. Unlike other tower defense games, in Castle Storm your tower is in the exact same place every time, at the left side of the screen. So where most tower defense game shine in their need to strategically place your towers on each new map, Castle Storm suffers a bit from the repetitiveness of each level, which varies only aesthetically and rarely effects any type of strategy. The Castle Editor mode does add a bit of strategy to the game because there are different ways to customize your castle to withstand more hits from enemy projectiles and choose which troops and upgrades you'll include in your castle, but this isn't enough strategy building to keep me fully entertained and on my toes. But all in all, it is a fun game that will entertain you for a while and will call you back in a month or so for more action. But it likely won't hold your attention for endless hours week after week. Expand

Just like a catapulted boulder, this arrived suddenly out of nowhere and knocked us off our feet. Great fun. [March 2014, p.89]

Castlestorm displays certain qualities which are more than welcome and that shake the ground a bit in what is overwhelmingly a niche style. Nevertheless, its record would be far more interesting if its technical flaws and repetitiveness were solved.

If you like strategy, tower defence, or even physics-based puzzlers and action games, CastleStorm is highly recommended.
