We really wanted to love Canvaleon, but grinding for resources, one-hit deaths and some wonky design choices makes this an uneven experience. It's a fresh idea that needed a better execution, but could prove to be a hit with anyone who can look past its flaws.

Canvaleon is beautiful and clever, but its execution isn't as good as we wanted. Still, if you're looking for a challenge, Canvaleon might be your game.

Canvaleon freshly combines platforming with stealth gameplay. Unfortunately, the sheer difficulty and the lack of general direction make the game more frustrating than fun.

Honestly, Canvaleon a pretty good game, with some solid presentation and gameplay, but it's slightly let down by a lack of conveyance and a devilish difficulty.

The idea was sound, but the execution lacks a considerable amount of care in integrating the gameplay mechanics. It's frustrating but not really compelling, and it doesn't grow on the player even when given time.

This is a difficult game. Really.

It has no mercy, but without resorting to cheap traps. If you die (and you will die a lot, because the character dies when receiving A SINGLE HIT) it is almost guaranteed that you died because you failed at something (even the game over screen says "You Failed" instead of "You Died" or "Game Over").

The game always gives you hints. If an enemy might fall on you, it drops dust, if there is a trap-like enemy that comes out of the floor, there will be a shaking monticule that clashes a lot with the environment, if there is an enemy that shoots you, you can see it before it sees you...

But to notice all of this you MUST advance and proceed with caution. This is a STEALTH game, if you try to steamroll through it you gonna die A LOT. Regardless, this is a game that rewards highly your skills and your critical thinking.

I'm sure lots of reviews will lower this game's score because of its difficulty (I already have seen two that do this), but trust me, it is very rewarding, and reviewers should consider this challenge positively.

It has been a lot since I had a really tough time with a platformer that wasn't of the likes of "Cat Mario" or "I Wanna Be The Guy" (that are plainly unfair, unlike Canvaleon). I am enjoying this game so far (I'm near the end) and I think the camouflage-painting thing is a neat aspect.

I really recommend this, it even made me create a Metacritic user.

It surprises me how reviewers gave it such a low score. This game can be very hard (even frustrating) at times, but I can't see how this is a negative for this game in particular and a positive for others.

It has challenging gameplay and a very original mechanic with the camouflage system. Music is pretty good, and art style too. Animations could be better (more frames), but this is an indie studio first game, so I give you that.

The game has also lots of replay value and collectibles (I'm stuck getting all the CDs in the game, I can't find one in the desert world and that's what I need to 100% the game, If you know where it is please go to GameFAQs and tell me)
