Block Drop U is a video game with a price tag. I shouldn't have a problem with this game, yet I do. The game is extremely bland and boring, all the game contains is broken unimaginative puzzles. I could have enjoyed this game if it stayed a flash game. I say this because Block Drop U's quality is horrendously sloppy, so much that it deserves to be on Newgrounds. Puzzle games need to be easy to learn and difficult to master but Blok Drop U doesn't leave much space for that, as its short amount of levels and lack of a scoring system don't leave much room for the players to appreciate it. While its gameplay mechanics and physics are well implemented, there's still a lot that Blok Drop U needs to be more of an acceptable piece of gaming.

Short, but never quite sweet, Wii U's first budget game does exactly what you'd expect, good and bad. [May 2014, p.91]

As is, at $2, less than the cost of a side dish at a fast food restaurant, it is so inoffensive, so softly marketed, that it actually may be a good purchase for some fans of physics puzzling games. Be warned, though, that much like fast food, the entire game may be finished in less than 30 minutes.
