    Didn't have any problems with black screens or save problems! Game is stunning looking, sounding and the story is great! A real solid title!

    Whoa, what a blast that was! Had me at tears in the end!!
    Pretty all the way through and a story that tears your heart out and makes you care about all the characters. Had to finish it in one night where I couldn't stop playing

    This game might be good but the switch port is unplayable due to frozen black screens every 30 minutes.

    This game falls into the same mistakes Telltale adventure games make and old Sierra adventure games make, creating a frustrating experience.

    One the one hand I did grow fond of King Eryk and most of his family and concerned about the kingdom he's trying to run. It was usually rewarding when a decision I made benefited the kingdom in some way and contributed to the war effort. But it    This game falls into the same mistakes Telltale adventure games make and old Sierra adventure games make, creating a frustrating experience.

    One the one hand I did grow fond of King Eryk and most of his family and concerned about the kingdom he's trying to run. It was usually rewarding when a decision I made benefited the kingdom in some way and contributed to the war effort.

    But it still falls into the pitfall of your choices not really mattering and getting railroaded during important plot points. I played this game twice, the second time learning from my mistakes the first time, and despite handling my money better and negotiating with other lords better I still got the exact same outcome at the first major battle.

    This illusion of choice could have been tolerable if it weren't for the second, bigger problem. Both times I played I had to give up when I got stuck in a no-win scenario based on smaller choices I had made earlier. Treasury, supplies, and population happiness are the three plates you are suppose to keep spinning while building up your army for the inevitable conflict, one of those gets below zero and it's game over. The treasure and supplies are fairly easy to maintain, you solve the problems of the townsfolk and other lords by giving them supplies or money or scouts to assist them and they pay you back later. It's the happiness that is the most frustrating problem, in part because it's so random. Don't give a peasant some money and the happiness plummets, give them some money and the treasure plummets while the happiness doesn't improve. Or sometimes it does. It's random and impossible to plan out. At the time one mistake won't look damning, but it quickly snowballs into more problems and before you know it you are in too deep to fix your mistakes before you get a game over, if the game even gives you a way to fix your mistakes.

    Some might argue that this makes the game realistic, that real life doesn't have do overs and mistakes aren't always immediately apparent. But in real life you can do things like apologize for your behavior, explain your reasoning, or carefully explain to someone "Listen, I can't send a general over to deal with your stupid rabbit infestation because a madman with an army is arriving in a month to kill us all including you, so sorry."

    This is where the old Sierra adventure game problem rears its ugly head. I quit the second time when I realized I was in an unwinnable situation. The Switch version saves automatically once a week ingame, but looking at my old saves I realized the problem that doomed me started before those weeks. And I didn't restart the game because the thought of spending hours going through the exact same dialogue and choices until I reached my mistake again was just horrible.

    And that's not even getting into the technical problems. From stupid things like the game acting as if I sent my male general to investigate a house instead of my female witch, to beneficial like a peasant acting like I gave him supplies when I didn't, to embarrassing like programming language appearing in menus, to insulting like the game crashing when it tries to save. That is amateur hour.

    The only reason I didn't give this a lower score is because I did like the basic concept, settings, and characters, but that's not enough for a good game.    … Expand

    I’ve gotten frozen black screens twice in the first 30 minutes of game play. I know this has great reviews on other platforms, but the gameplay seems VERY restricted.

    UPDATE Dev actually responded to emails and the fix for the black screen is keeping the game on system memory rather than card. BUT I made it to the final siege but then decided to just delete the game because it is the    I’ve gotten frozen black screens twice in the first 30 minutes of game play. I know this has great reviews on other platforms, but the gameplay seems VERY restricted.

    Dev actually responded to emails and the fix for the black screen is keeping the game on system memory rather than card. BUT I made it to the final siege but then decided to just delete the game because it is the WORST CONSTRUCTED GAME I have ever played. Tedious text with typos, essentially a visual novel with tedious choices (and again text that doesn’t really update or reflect those choices), sexist and heteronormative, and generally a waste of time and effort.    … Expand

    The game is great
    The black screen forcing me to revert to last save and do everything again is very frustrating.
    The issue happens when changing zones in your kingdom throughout the in-game day.

    I would recommend the game, however on another platform until the bug is fixed. I'll try to remove or edit this review if the issue is fixed.

    The game looks gorgeous on Switch with nice pixel art and music.
    Story is easy to follow but not too simple.
    But, there is a big issue which explains the low score : the black screen mentioned also by other users !
    Every 20-30 minutes, the game freezes to a black screen forcing you to load your last save and redo it all over again until the next one... Developers, please patch it !

    Very good game. I was fully invested in to the story throughout the entirety of the game and became incredibly attached to these characters in just a few hours. The resource management became a bit tedious towards the end, but overall, very well done game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bug with game when you go to a different section of your castle the game will freeze and display a black screen. This has happened about 6 times and then you have to revert to previous save file.

    The game started off good but it feels like any choices you make doesn't have a big impact on the game. It feels as everything is already planned out and you are just going along for the ride .

    The first couple of hours was exiting and after the first battle i thought finally the game is done and i can move on to the next game but it wasn't. There is another battle on the horizon and i am seriously not in the mood to play on. Game price is to steep on the Switch and i would recommend to wait for a massive discount.    … Expand

    The writing is strong, the choices all feel important, engagement in both the short and long term is strong, and the overall design is brilliant – it’s a masterclass in elegance since it does exactly what it needs to do and lasts exactly as long as it needs to last, and there isn’t an ounce of fat on its bones. I can’t wait to see what Brave At Night comes up with next.

    Yes, Your Grace impresses with a deep narrative exploring the true weight of the crown, colourful characters and satisfying decisions that are all brought to life with fantastic writing and beautiful presentation. It feels better to play on PC, but this is still a confident port for Switch players who want to experience this story on the go.

    I like Yes, Your Grace, but my enjoyment wasn’t unqualified. I felt the most affinity for the characters, and much less for the overall gameplay. Interacting with my citizens got monotonous at times, and long stretches where my family had no new interactions really took the wind out of my sails. A more compressed story with a shorter runtime would make me more inclined to explore alternate paths, or at least less inclined to “save scum” my way to good outcomes, but given the structure of the game I find it highly unlikely I go back to it.
