Feb 28, 2019There’s plenty of fun in all the chaos, but it is, perhaps, a little too much going on at once. There’s quite a steep learning curve to this mix of genres and it’s more free-form and loose than other tower defense games, lacking the chess-like satisfaction of rigid grid-based maps. The story is minimal, merely a framework for the action, but the game looks great and runs smoothly on the Switch. It’s certainly solid enough to entertain for a good few hours.

Feb 27, 2019X Morph: Defense is a solid, fun title that is more akin to a time sink than a classic/must play title. It doesn’t do anything inherently bad, and provides a large amount of content even before you realize there is DLC available. Yet even with few major faults, it doesn’t do enough to elevate it into the next stratosphere of gaming. If you’re in the market for a fun game just to pass the time, X Morph Defense is definitely a title that I would recommend.

Feb 21, 2019X-Morph: Defense is more fun than it probably has a right to be and worth the investment for those even slightly interested in tower defense and twin-stick shooters. The Switch version isn't the superior port but really only suffers from some minor control annoyances.

Feb 22, 2019X-Morph: Defense is a game that manages to translate in a satisfactory way to the Nintendo Switch, bringing the clash between the forces of Aliens and the people of Earth on the go. It should be noted, though, that this version of the game does not offer something new to old players, as it lacks features that enforce replayability and faces problems that result from poor development. X-Morph: Defense is a diamond for the Switch, only rough and unrefined.
