Sep 20, 2020Microtransactions filled grindfest. All the Wrestlers have the same moveset depending on their weightclass or style. All 'Highflyers' like Rey Mysterio only have different skins. Same goes for 'Heavyweights' , 'Brawlers' etc. whats the fun in unlocking new wrestlers if they are all the same?! 1 point cause at least it runs better and isn't bug infested like previous 2k wrestling games.

Sep 20, 2020They obviously spuffed out this title in a few months. Another rushed poor quality WWE game. Unlocking characters and items is a grind due to the implementation of microtransactions.

Sep 21, 2020Great Arcade Wrestling Game and It performs well on switch handheld mode. The Cons is the limited moves but the reversal system is what I want coz u can't just use 1 button to reverse everything. MTX is a letdown but we can unlock everything by playing though.

Dec 25, 2022Pathetic. BEYOND pathetic! No customization, no way to change separate moves, no challenges or simple game progression, no accurate gameplay settings, no easy controls or controls to get used to. -10000000000000000 stars. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

Jan 19, 2021What starts off as a mediocre game quickly becomes an insulting one thanks to one-dimensional gameplay, off-brand character models, baffling design choices, and a reliance on grinding and microtransactions to unlock content. Post-launch updates have done a good job of optimizing the game, but have ultimately failed to address any of its meaningful flaws. Best to avoid altogether.

Jan 21, 2022played 2 matches, created a character, one more match...character got completely destroyed against the weakest possible opponent. just no fun to play whatsoever.

Nov 2, 2020With WWE 2K Battlegrounds, 2K has made it impossible to recommend for price and value. All aspects of the game revolve around microtransactions and by offering so little to begin with, the motivation to continue playing isn't present. Even the little things that make WWE games worth playing, such as seeing your favourite star enter the arena, are ruined with short audio clips and the same punch out of casket or box entrance. With baffling modes and gameplay that doesn't ever need to extend past single button bashing, it really highlights how 2K have gone for the cash grab and decided a mobile game may reach a wider audience on consoles. This is one title that needs to Rest….In……Peace.

Oct 5, 2020WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a decent fighting game marred by multiple bad campaign and transactional decisions. Like the real WWE, it’s best enjoyed when you focus on what’s happening in the ring and ignore everything that surrounds it.

Sep 30, 2020WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a budget brawler with a high price tag. Despite the core gameplay being quite solid, a lot of the content is locked behind microtransactions and grinding away at matches. These things stop it from rising to Superstar status.
