Microtransactions filled grindfest. All the Wrestlers have the same moveset depending on their weightclass or style. All 'Highflyers' like Rey Mysterio only have different skins. Same goes for 'Heavyweights' , 'Brawlers' etc. whats the fun in unlocking new wrestlers if they are all the same?! 1 point cause at least it runs better and isn't bug infested like previous 2k wrestling games.

They obviously spuffed out this title in a few months. Another rushed poor quality WWE game. Unlocking characters and items is a grind due to the implementation of microtransactions.

Your $40 only buys you the most barebones experience, with the rest of the game locked up tight behind premium currency or hours upon hours of mindless grind, all of which requires a constant internet connection.

The fact that this online storefront disguised as a game sells for $40 is shocking. It is the very definition of absolute mobile phone game trash without even the benefit of being free-to-play. It's like being charged a $40 gate fee to shop at the Dollar Tree. Easily the most cynical cash grab video game of the year, which is really saying something.

Garbage like this has no place on the Switch. There are plenty of mobile ports there already, sure, but none of them cost FORTY DOLLARS and none of them require you to maintain a constant internet connection. Avoid this one with extreme prejudice.

Combat is terrible and clunky, and is worsened by the fact that theres only what 4 or 5 styles of characters and within those styles LITERALLY EVERY CHARACTER HAS THE SAME MOVESET AND ABILITIES! That is all not to even mention the 2K micro-transaction goldmine. This game is way overpriced in the first place for what it is, then you want to charge more for it just to play with my favorite wrestlers out of the box? Yes, you can unlock them by grinding in game, but when a game says it has a roster of contained characters I expect to be able to use all those characters when I fire the game up. Not have to choose between grinding through matches that honestly are already boring after 3-4 plays or paying more money for a superstar I want just to find out that he is gameplay-wise an exact replicant of one that I could already play with.

Better luck next time 2K, you get a dead zero from me on this one. Can only hope WWE has the sense to move the license soon to a studio that will actually respect the fans and deliver a quality experience like THQ used to.

Great Arcade Wrestling Game and It performs well on switch handheld mode. The Cons is the limited moves but the reversal system is what I want coz u can't just use 1 button to reverse everything. MTX is a letdown but we can unlock everything by playing though.

If you treat WWE 2K Battlegrounds like a "simulation" game you will HATE this game. But if you treat it like a comic/arcade style game this is not too bad. I don't mind unlocking a few but if you want to play as Drew McIntyre or Becky Lynch you can't unless you rack up points or pay extra. But when you put characters on the cover and you have to pay extra for it really is a major problem.

Overall the game isn't too bad but it had potential to be a great game but 2k Sports keeps messing it up like the other WWE games

This game is complete and utter trash. The gameplay is just mashing and the AI counters you non stop without you having a choice. Any throw you do equals a free counter for the AI at all times even if the AI has no stamina.
Your hits always go through the AI with no colision while the AI hits you non stop.
The most utter piece of garbage game I have seen in my life, is not even worth

An important part of the game is collecting game currency to unlock your favorite Wrestlers and Divas !!! Therefore, you will have to play this game for a long time and fun to unlock and play for your Favorite!

There is also a story mode where you play as a pre-created character! the story itself is shown in the form of a comic, which should probably be interesting !!

In general, the game is an ordinary children's arcade!

P.S. It would be better to finally release the Patch for WWE 2K18 on the Switch, which will fix all the errors to the end

Pathetic. BEYOND pathetic! No customization, no way to change separate moves, no challenges or simple game progression, no accurate gameplay settings, no easy controls or controls to get used to. -10000000000000000 stars. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

What starts off as a mediocre game quickly becomes an insulting one thanks to one-dimensional gameplay, off-brand character models, baffling design choices, and a reliance on grinding and microtransactions to unlock content. Post-launch updates have done a good job of optimizing the game, but have ultimately failed to address any of its meaningful flaws. Best to avoid altogether.

With WWE 2K Battlegrounds, 2K has made it impossible to recommend for price and value. All aspects of the game revolve around microtransactions and by offering so little to begin with, the motivation to continue playing isn't present. Even the little things that make WWE games worth playing, such as seeing your favourite star enter the arena, are ruined with short audio clips and the same punch out of casket or box entrance. With baffling modes and gameplay that doesn't ever need to extend past single button bashing, it really highlights how 2K have gone for the cash grab and decided a mobile game may reach a wider audience on consoles. This is one title that needs to Rest….In……Peace.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a decent fighting game marred by multiple bad campaign and transactional decisions. Like the real WWE, it’s best enjoyed when you focus on what’s happening in the ring and ignore everything that surrounds it.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a budget brawler with a high price tag. Despite the core gameplay being quite solid, a lot of the content is locked behind microtransactions and grinding away at matches. These things stop it from rising to Superstar status.
