The game is really poorly optimized for Switch. Everything looks very tiny. Weird controls. I tried complete the whole company levels, but I couldn't. Computer perfectly hits me 98% of the time, don't get me wrong, but this is too hardcore, I don't want to replay the entire mission because of your one mistake

I am a passive fan of the franchise. I spent tons of hours playing the Worms games on SNES and N64, but have not played a Worms game since. This feels like a solid continuation from where I last left the series, for better and for worse. Loads of weapons, good level designs, and fun customization. Everything has been greatly expanded, and there is a lot of content here. The graphics are not stunning, but they pay proper tribute to the roots of the franchise, which I really appreciate. When I last touched this franchise, the slower turn based gameplay didn’t bother me at all. However today, the intentionally clunky controls mixed with the gaps between turns makes it feel like a heavily dated formula. I just find myself waiting so long for my turn that I stop paying attention. No part of the game is bad, but the formula is dated and does not have the same impact that it did 15+ years ago. Expand

This is sure worms alright, the art style is good, the levels are eh, and the controls are dog water so its basically a guarantee that a match will last a while

In the grand scheme of things, Worms W.M.D feels like a return to form for the franchise. [Issue #32 – March/April 2018, p. 21]

Worms W.M.D‘s successful outing marks the series’ long overdue return to relevance. The detailed 2D graphics look great, run very smoothly and the new mechanics all slot in seamlessly alongside the 90s core of the game. This is now the definitive edition of Worms to buy – there is a lot to enjoy it’s one of the best in-person social multiplayer games available.

I cannot recommend this game enough if you are a fan of slow-moving tactics genres. If you aren't, well, I would still give this a try if you have some cash burning in your pocket. It really is just that much fun!
