    Is Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on the Nintendo Switch for you? There are several questions you'll have to answer. Is it the best version of the game? Not by a mile. Is it enjoyable? Yes, and that may be all you need to know. It is a playable, albeit technically flawed, version that runs on a tablet. If you can play it elsewhere, you should. If you can't, the Switch iteration does a serviceable job of sharing B.J. Blazkowicz's action-packed journey.

    A port of last years Wolfenstein II to the Nintendo Switch seemed like an impossible task, but Panic Button has exceeded our expectations. Sure, there are some massive downgrades regarding the graphics, but the core gameplay is pretty much intact. The main problem is that the other versions of the game are so much better, but if you want a portable first person shooter this might be the best one yet.

    Panic Button has managed to fit a beast of a game on the Switch quite successfully, but you can’t overlook the compromises that the developer had to go through when it comes to the overall visual experience. It is not a pretty version of the game, but it is a great Wolfenstein II experience nonetheless.

    Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is another admirable Switch port from Panic Button, which preserves the slick gunplay and hard-hitting story of the original. However, severe technical constraints make this a heavily compromised experience - especially in handheld.

    Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an absolute must play for anyone who enjoys that genre at all. As for the Switch version, it is a bit of a mixed bag. If you only own Nintendo consoles and never use anything else, get it. If you are looking to play the game on the go and the Switch is your preferred gaming console, get it. If you have other consoles and you only use your Switch now and then, and want the best experience possible with Wolfenstein II, go a different route and experience it for the first time the way the developers intended.

    A mixed bag of emotions and gameplay sum up Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. A lot in the way of graphical fidelity has been hacked away at in order to get this on Nintendo Switch, but it is quite clear those who are interested in this FPS know exactly what to expect on that front. Despite the obvious visual downgrade, coupled with the pacing and storyline issues, there is still a solid arcade game here that can sit alongside DOOM (or maybe the next shelf down).

    As long as more companies like Panic Button figure out the secret sauce of how to distill 44.55GB (PS4) files into 21.8 GB (Switch) while keeping the gameplay intact, the Switch has a bright future ahead of it.

    The draw of the Switch version, for most, is going to be the ability to play on the go. And it was thrilling to sit in bed late at night, the thudding gunfire ringing in my headphones. This isn’t just a version of the game that works, it’s a version of the game that’s enjoyable to play on its own merits.

    For me, as great as Wolfenstein II looks on my big screen TV, it’s a lot more fun shooting Nazis from the comfort of my bed.

The Switch doesn't deserve this game and it chugs, and still requires half a download even with the cartridge. Truly a step back in mechanics - playing through this game on Death Incarnate makes many of these issues apparent.

    The story and characters also got more wacky, stupid, and cartoonish which I think will turn off those looking for a thoughtful storyline instead of just a violent one.
