The more you progress in the story, the more the maps change and become lively. As a Japanese RPG, your goal is to fight enemies and find the best strategy with your skills and combo attacks.

The warm pixel art graphics and the user interface have been remade and new background music has been composed for this new title. Plus, the instrumental unit soLi will be in charge of the main theme. This is a new experience in a beautiful world!

WiZmans World Re;Try is a solid time. I am glad it is finally out of Japan for the first time. There is a lot of customization for your characters, and a lot of depth, especially given that there are only four main elements to worry about. If you are fine without having voice acting and the longer dungeon designs, then this is definitely a recommended title.

WiZmans World Re;Try is a charming old-school RPG that finally made it to the West, and while it definitely shows its age, its clever Anima Fusion system and moody, amnesia-laced story make it more than just a nostalgia trip. If you can live without voice acting and other modern conveniences, there’s a surprisingly deep and rewarding dungeon crawler here that’s been worth the long wait.

WiZmans World Re;Try is a really good remaster of the 2010 Jaleco-developed RPG with quality of life changes and features for modern consoles and PC. The game's turn-based combat system and intriguing story are clear highlights, but the lack of voice acting and auto saves make the remaster feel just a cut below being great. Despite that, RPG fans will have a really fun time, thanks to the balance between fun turn-based gameplay and tough challenges with its daunting boss fights.

WiZmans World Re;Try isn’t the most exciting JRPG, but it is great we finally get to experience it after about 16 years. The Anima Fusion system is interesting, and there’s some pretty intricate spritework involved for some characters. The game is something of a grind though, so be prepared to work for your best combinations and to take down some bosses that appear in later dungeons.

WiZman’s World premiered sixteen years ago as a mid-tier DS title with a simple plot and dense monster fusion system, and not much has changed in the interim. This remastered edition is an improvement in most metrics of graphics and sound, but the core of the game remains the same. It is crunchy and combat-driven, with narrative as an afterthought, and it makes no apologies about that. It is, was, and shall remain a mid-tier JRPG, but sometimes that’s just what an RPGamer needs. To anyone looking for a game that lets them tune out and wreck monsters without high drama attached, it’s certainly worth a look-see.

WiZmans World Re;Try is a good JRPG that you’ll be able to put hours into. However, the gameplay may get repetitive after a while.
