Grindy and repetitive Endgame progression of builds is tied to premium currency, and players are strong armed into paying or sitting in a chat room for hours.

Even though there are microtransactions, the premium currency, "Platinum", can be obtained 100% for free by playing the game long enough and trading with other players. For some reason, games on consoles have been getting the mobile problem, where everything is cryptic, it’s always a question on what the hell is happening, there are always menus within menus, and it’s never obvious what you’re supposed to do

As I played Warframe, I couldn't stop thinking of Dauntless–another FTP game mostly based on cooperative battles and collecting loot. At first sight, the two games couldn't be more different: where Dauntless is ugly and filled with stale fantasy cliches, Warframe has some of the best graphics available on the Switch, and its sci-fi world is original and rich in interesting lore. On the other hand, a few hours into Warframe, I realized how similar the two games are. Both provide a deluge of mechanics and subsystems, but they're ultimately centered on a shallow game loop and insubstantial combat mechanics. As a result, both games soon devolve into a repetitive grind.

    Pros:
    - The smooth graphics will make you forget that you're playing a portable system.
    - The game world is way more original than the typical sci-fi game.
    - Not as greedy as some other FTPs: the market is expensive, but you can play without it.

    Cons:
    - The combat is exciting at first, but grows stale very soon.
    - The melee action is shaky and shallow, but (at least in the beginning) way more efficient than the more interesting firearms combat.
    - It has a huge amount of content, but it takes only a few hours for the procedurally generated missions to look all the same.

BY FAR the best FTP on the Switch platform, Warframe and DE continue to prove themselves with each update. This game has the best movement system of any game and deep customization not only of playstyles but of looks. Fashion Frame is endgame, lol. Well worth your time. I have 820 In-Mission Hours and counting. It is easy to play this game forever... and you'll not have to spend a dime.

Warframe is free to play so if you're on the fence about whether or not you'd like it, there's no harm done in giving it a shot - this Switch version is a high quality port.

That said, I did not enjoy this game beyond the initial excitement over the fluid movement system. It's an exceptionally grindy game, with decent combat that unfortunately quickly gets boring as you fight the same enemies over and over with little story to explain why. There's so many game mechanics and systems here that it's overwhelming for new players, and the game does a poor job of explaining a lot of these. You may need to frequently Google what things mean, what certain resources are for, how the different currencies are used, and more.

The levels have procedurally generated layouts so they tend to be pretty boring and repetitive, and though there are quests that tell a story, after 35 hours I still didn't really know who I was, what I was doing or why I was killing everyone. There may have been some good story content and more engaging gameplay to come but I couldn't be bothered slogging through any more of the game that I was finding too boring and easy.

Still, if the idea of being a space ninja appeals to you, and you don't mind devoting a lot of time to grinding and learning this game's systems, you might find some fun here.

As a free to play game Warframe is fantastic. The Switch conversion is also very solid even if performance isn't always up to par with frame rate drops below 30fps.
The biggest strength of the game is its movement and combat system (look up gameplay on Youtube, it's insane!) and the massive amount of content it provides. The game is absolutely huge with thousands of hours worth of content

Not all of that content is great mind you (for example PvP is dead and Archwing missions suck) but once you know what parts of the game you like most you can usually avoid the bad stuff for the most part.
As a free to play game there is obviously a lot of stuff you can buy with real money. I find the monetization to mostly be very fair, you can easily play through the game without spending a single penny. It also thankfully doesn't have lootboxes. However I didn't like that you can quickly run out of space in your inventory and then are encouraged to buy more inventory space with real money. That just felt like ****

But all in all, Warframe is one of the best (if not THE BEST) looter shooter / looter slasher out there and the Switch port manages to deliver the full Warframe experience for portable play

When I first started playing this game I thought I was doing single-player, and suddenly a ship appeared beside me ... and we played the level together it caught me totally by surprise.

This game provides some really great experiences, some types of challenges are good alone and others you really need other people to do well.

This is a really poor port for the switch. I understand that they wanted to still have the same look as the PC and other console versions, but they can actually run warframe at a steady framerate. Very great port of a game. The gameplay is fluid and fast-paced, the action is satisfying and the graphics are great for the switch. The game feels so fluid and working and has excellent motion blur making the game seem like 60fps when playing in 30fps. Great port onto a less-powerful console.

1st: Left and right sticks have giant center deadzones, it needs to be redused (be smaller) by 1/2 or even 3/4. This problem leads to clumsy aiming and overall warframe movement when try to smoothly aim and follow the target, or slowly walk or sneak closely to enemies with such crappy stick setup.

2nd: Bigger delay (about 1/2 slower than on PC with same 30 fps locked and with connected Xbox 360 controller) when run, walk or sprint and try to slide with pressing and holding L button. It confuses and you frantically trying to figure out, this is something with a game or something with joy-cons. (joy-cons fully working ones, in other games L button works well).

I hope Digital Extremes and Panic Button can fix this issues and the game will be more enjoyable.
