One of the more fun games that I have reviewed in the last year. I love the Gundam Wing feel to the game and how it incorporates the smaller vessels and other capital ships into the fights as well.

I would say War Tech Fighters does a fairly good job of living up to the claim of combining anime with blockbusters. The action is fairly steady throughout the game. The ability to upgrade and customize your War Tech is tons of fun. Aside from the load times, everything about this game says yes. If you’re looking for a ton of action, War Tech Fighters is certainly a game you should try.

War Tech Fighters wears its influences on its sleeves, with series like Macross, or rather Robotech in the case of the title, likely serving as a major source of inspiration. Franchises like Gundam and Transformers almost certainly played a part as well. For mech fans, there is certainly something to be said for the customization that War Tech Fighters brings to the table. Beyond that, there is a solid space game that unfortunately doesn’t make the best use of the mechs themselves. If you’re a fan of one or the other, you may lose interest, but as an avid fan of both, I found plenty to enjoy.

War Tech Fighters does exhibit a few rough spots here and there, but it is undeniable that it ticks all the right boxes for any self-respecting mecha fan. As of right now, it's a toss-up between this and Project Nimbus Complete Edition for the title of top mecha game on Switch, but if you're after a fast and exciting robot-based space shooter and don't mind long loading times and the odd awkward menu system, then this is worth a look.

War Tech Fighters is raw, unadulterated robot action. The flashy combat and easy to master controls make it a blast to dive in and play. The design aesthetic and narrative are lacking massively, which makes it hard to stick with the game for a long time, but if all you're looking for is some simple robot blasting action, War Tech Fighters will be right up your alley.

I´m playing it for about five hours now and still finding new possibilities. But as well as a few chlitches. One of them can be seen on my video below. But the graphics, the gameplay, the story... everything is ok from my point of view, even I had to get used a bit for the game. First 15 minutes and I had an impression, that I have installed a boring game... but after then, the feeling of a good... even maybe a really great game... evolved... and I must say... try it for yourself! its worth it!

Wartech has enough going for it to satisfy if you're looking for a decent mech game. Combat is fast and challenging with plenty of objectives throughout the missions and there is a lot to research and upgrade. Only problem is when there is too much going on onscreen, there is noticeable slow down and the game will sometimes crash when loading (I've had the game 4 days and it's happened twice). Overall I'm happy with picking it up at this price point but could be harder to justify a higher price. Full Review »

The problems begin whenThe game did satisfy my itch for a mech game, and did a pretty descent job on the controls. Visuals were good as well. The problems begin when you start playing. The tooltips poping up even if you don't want tutorials. The fact it wasn't modified for the switches smaller screen makes reading anything eye watering. The challenges are poorly designed by posing virtually impossible objectives. The dogfighting challenge starts with you taking massive damage from an invisible foe that follows you, and enemies that can attack from a range greatly out distancing your own. The challenges rely on luck, not skill, to succeed. A very poorly planned and executed game. I regret spending $10 on it. Full Review »
