    I even regret that 0,87 € I spend on it. It's too punishing. You will lose all progress when you run out of lifes. Yet the game itself isn't joy-able enough to grind. It doesn't tell you what the different difficulty setups do (you start with less lives: 9 on easy, 2 on most difficult). The only upsides are, decent controls, nice sound-effects and "likable" visuals, even tho I think theI even regret that 0,87 € I spend on it. It's too punishing.     The retro appeal is lost, the mechanics aren’t updated for modern times, and it offers nothing of historical or archival value. Frankly, I have no idea who Toki’s intended audience is – someone obviously loved it enough to dig it up and give it a fresh coat of paint, I’m just not sure why.

    A fresh coat of paint and a new look for the crazy chimp don’t do enough to escape the aged level design and frustrating trial-and-error gameplay loop.

    Toki is amusing for a few hours, before the poor level design and the repetitive combat system comes to light.
