    I should have never slept on Toki Tori 2 when it first came out, and if you've been interested on it, but never had the drive to grab it, let this review be the thing that pushes you. The improvements and extra things brought to the Switch version make it the most complete and enjoyable way to play it (though the game is also available on PC and PS4). Any puzzle fan's library would be greatly improved with the addition of this game!

    Toki Tori 2+: Nintendo Switch Edition is the ultimate version of the second chapter of the series. Thanks to its beautiful art style and soundtrack, extended lifespan, overall gameplay improvements and fine-tuned difficulty progression, there is very little standing in the way between the player and the many good, fun, involving hours around this game. Truly a very recommended title for any Nintendo Switch owner.

    Toki Tori 2+ is not a very important launch for Nintendo Switch, but it is one of those outstanding games that are perfect for the console. Short and quick game sessions work great here.

    Being a great puzzle game for the switch. TokiTori 2+ is recommended for those who enjoy a relaxing and creative experience. At the beginning of the game some parts will seem impossible and once you get used to the gameplay everything will make sense. With songs that make up the atmosphere of adventure and fun, the game leaves simple and complex puzzles everywhere and will require that the player has the ability to solve what is proposed to him.

    Taken at face value, Toki Tori 2+ is an incredibly well-designed platformer with a distinct Metroidvania vibe. However, it is let down by its visuals and sometimes frustratingly slow progression and backtracking due to certain puzzle sections.

    It’s a puzzle platformer with the core mechanic being that you can’t jump. Through it’s unashamed cute demeanour there is a deep, challenging game that is sometimes frustrating yet overall satisfying and hugely enjoyable.

    Toki Tori 2+ follows the mold set by great efforts of the genre such as Braid and The Lost Vikings. Unlike the frequent changes George Lucas made to the original Star Wars trilogy, it's commendable that Two Tribes has listened to criticism and continued to implement improvements. Anyone who enjoys a challenge and likes games where you can temporarily travel in bubbles should give Toki Tori 2+ a look.

    From one of the eggs collected in the prequel, this little chick was able to break out of its eggshell. This sequel manages to reinvent itself compared to its predecessor, its puzzles are creative and it tries to teach the player, who sees themselves and how they have evolved as they progress through the game. While having certain design errors and lacking variety in creatures to interact with, this little guy proposes an adventure with challenging puzzles that will keep you glued to the screen.

    A gruelling puzzle-adventure, with so much hidden depth and challenge that hardcore gamers will rejoice from the rooftops. It is the game that just keeps on giving, and with tweaks to perfect the formula, now is the best time to pick it up.

    Toki Tori 2+ on Switch is still the same, cute and cuddly, yet fiendishly tricky game that we’ve been enjoying for the last few years, but with some notable improvements that make it the best version currently available on consoles. The difficulty of some puzzles may still be too much for some, but the levels of frustration that plagued earlier releases have been somewhat nullified thanks to new mechanics. If you’re interested in what the title has to offer, or have only played it in its earliest forms, we urge you to give this version a try.

    I played the demo a while back and was totally charmed. Fast forward a few months later, I pick it up on sale and was started somewhere inI played the demo a while back and was totally charmed. Fast forward a few months later, I pick it up on sale and was started somewhere in the middle of the game. I went back and forth frustratingly stuck for my first hour with the game before I realized what happened and figured out how to restart. So I was pretty soured on the game from the start. So realize my review will be colored by that experience.
    Eventually, when I got into it more and learned how to get past the area I had started in. I relaxed and really started enjoying it. It is definitely a clever take n the metroidvania. You don't get powerups or keys, you just need to learn new ways to use what you already have.
    Unfortunately, some of the puzzles are long and take multiple steps and you may need to redo a lot if you accidently hit the wrong check point. That plus a couple of glitches and the aforementioned rough start stopped me from enjoying the game as much as I could have. Also, I never new what the point was other than getting to another area so there's less investment. And as far as I can tell, there's no end credits so you don't even get that satisfaction of closure once your done.
    Still, it is in some ways quite brilliant and I would be cautiously optimistic to play a new installment should it be made.    … Full Review »
