Jan 28, 2021Behind Tohu's beautifully detailed, crisp yet intriguing universe stand some imaginative handcrafted puzzles that integrate brilliantly both into the environments and the rather straightforward, if not square story.
-
Mar 2, 2021TOHU is a decent point-and-click puzzler, with attractive visuals and some fun mini-games. A lack of Switch-specific controls and an over-reliance on trial and error hold it back, but patient younger players will enjoy themselves.

Edge MagazineFeb 25, 2021This is a cosy, likable affair. [Issue#356, p.104]

Feb 9, 2021TOHU is a very classic point and click adventure, probably designed for a young audience or for fans of the genre who are not very familiar with puzzles and riddles.

Feb 1, 2021TOHU does a lot of things right and doesn’t really do anything seriously wrong, but I found myself feeling very ho-hum about it in the end. The art is really nice and I enjoyed many of the puzzles. But as pretty as it is, there’s something very “generic point-and-click adventure" about the game that keeps it from truly standing out. Touch controls work well enough but note that if you’re playing docked you’re going to have to deal with a relatively annoying cursor-based interface that doesn’t work all that well with a controller. There’s so much obvious love put into this game, but I’m not sure all that personality is enough to make this anything more than a fairly standard take on a well-worn concept.
-
Feb 1, 2021Tohu is fairly well put together, but its 2-3-hour runtime, annoying hint system, and a few bugs make it hard to recommend at full price. If you're itching to play a point-and-click game and can get a great deal, Tohu is worth checking out. Otherwise, you'll be no worse off for skipping it.

Jan 28, 2021Tohu is a wonderful adventure game that is sure to fit well in the collection of any seasoned point-and-click or LucasArts adventure specialist. While the beautiful art, fun visuals, and enjoyable puzzles can serve to entice, there is nothing revolutionary in Tohu that will draw non-adventure game fans into the genre.

Jan 28, 2021TOHU is beautiful and charming, but its execution is a bit flawed. It doesn’t make the most of its dual character gameplay, and the puzzles feel arbitrary and confusing.

May 24, 2021Though the game is pleasing visually and acoustically, it just wasn’t that compelling. There wasn’t anything outstanding about TOHU one way or the other. It is a decent point and click game, but without a driving story, I didn’t feel motivated to keep playing.
