Mobsters fighting an alien invasion? Sure, OK. That premise somewhat explains this title in a nutshell, and while it’s at least novel as a concept I’m not sure there’s a great advantage taken of it to make for a fulfilling result. Played as a third-person shooter with a fair amount of exploration you’ll move between areas and objectives, shooting up any aliens you see, do some 3DMobsters fighting an alien invasion? Sure, OK. That premise somewhat explains this title in a nutshell, and while it’s at least novel as a concept I’m not sure there’s a great advantage taken of it to make for a fulfilling result. Played as a third-person shooter with a fair amount of exploration you’ll move between areas and objectives, shooting up any aliens you see, do some 3D platforming which is sometimes trickier than it should be as you contend with the camera, and a few other elements like driving as well. On paper perhaps it sounds like it could have promise but the execution is haphazard at best. The city feels empty, the models all look like they’re from a previous generation, and the play itself ranges from dodgy to adequate at its best. Just with there being so many titles in the eShop that clearly play better than this, it’s hard to recommend with any enthusiasm.

Obviously, none of this should be a surprise. Timothy vs the Aliens was awful when it came out on PS4, and it’s awful now that it’s on the Switch for almost all the same reasons. It may be a little brighter and easier on the ears, but the fact remains everything else here still stinks.
