    Brilliant homage to 90's beat 'em ups with a few modern mechanics, including some of the ridiculous combo potential ever seen in the genre thrown in for good measure. Wish it had online co-op and leaderboards but the gameplay is solid and looks great. A solid 8/10

    The TakeOver offers classic beat 'em up action that you can enjoy with a pal yet it doesn't do much unique with its gameplay.

    The TakeOver gets its inspiration from the grandmaster Streets of Rage and does this well. The fighting is smooth and there are a lot of options to make combos. Next to that, the game has a few original features like guns that add to the variation. Despite the lack of an online co-op mode, this is a game you simply have to play. It is almost unbelievable all this came from the brain of one man!
