The Room on Switch is the definitive experience when it comes to controls and visuals and the only real flaw is the fact that holding the Switch for a touch only game is not as comfortable as holding your iPhone or iPad with weight and the battery life is obviously not great on the Switch.

There’s no way I wouldn’t recommend this game, but just know you’ll probably be done in about two hours. To me, a two-hour game that leaves me wanting more, is far preferable to a 40-hour game that’s stretched itself too thin, and I really only found myself wanting more because I just liked it so much.

The Room offers up a unique take on puzzle solving, with its intricate, ornate boxes and intriguing mystery. The touch controls and the game's beautiful, tiny details make the experience enjoyable on the Nintendo Switch, even if it's not too different from its mobile version.

Yes: It is short. But it still brings to the plate what is needed for an entertaining puzzle adventure: creativity, intuitive controls and a mysterious atmosphere.

The Room is a classic for good reason. The nice puzzles and atmosphere have made the transition to the Switch relatively unscathed, though the controls have suffered a little.

Touch and investigate the enigmatic box solving ingenious puzzles that will trap you with the help of their environment and difficulty. I never thought that the mixture of theological and scientific fields would work so well.

It isn’t often that I would recommend a port of a mobile game, but The Room is an exception. It is a game that simply works on the Nintendo Switch, regardless of whether you play it in Handheld mode or on the TV. The puzzles are clever, unique and engaging. Once you start, you will not want to put your Switch down. Its only real problem is I simply want more.

Featuring original and well designed puzzles, a good soundtrack and intuitive controls when played on handheld move, The Room is perfectly at home in Nintendo's system and it could be even better if it was more appealing to return to on a long term basis and if its price was a bit friendlier.

The Room is an expertly crafted puzzle box game that does a whole lot of things right and I doubt anyone would have regrets picking this one up.

Any keen puzzle gamer will undoubtedly relish the amount of challenge and sense of achievement to be found in The Room. Although the game does tend to become slightly monotonous at times, the overall game design and the level of challenge is enough to keep the average player intrigued.

The game finds a well-suited home on the portable Switch, although it still has all the trappings of a mobile title. There are control issues old and new, and more could definitely have been done to make the ending feel substantial, but for a few sweet hours The Room will hold your attention with its well-crafted, enigmatic boxes.

If ever there was a short puzzle game worth the price, it’d be The Room. It packs a lot of content into its relatively brief playing time, and — assuming you aren’t stymied by a system that doesn’t recognize your fingers — it does so with tonnes of style.

Ideal for a very wide audience, demanding at the right point, embellished with a stimulating plot, as long as you do not expect a new milestone of the genre, The Room will entertain you, thanks to a design of the puzzles really successful.

The Room offers intuitive and thoughtful puzzling, but leaves you wanting more. It would be great to see it bundled with its sequels in the future.

For all this, this version seems like an excellent contact with the original work but always keeping in mind the shadow of what could have been and how powerful it would have been to enjoy a more complete version, something that Switch has accustomed us to with revised versions of recent classics.

Despite its short life (three hours only), The Room is probably one of the best puzzle games in recent years.

The Room is always going to be good, but playing on Nintendo Switch isn't the best choice.

Fireproof Games' The Room remains an engaging, clever puzzle game. It's a delight to uncover the secrets hidden within the mechanical boxes, but the Switch version just isn't a good value proposition.

The quality of The Room and the atmosphere it conjures is undeniable, and it’s certainly worth checking out if you haven’t played before. It’s a pleasure to see some well-implemented pointer controls added to a classic touchscreen title, and the fact that this seminal release is now available on a dedicated gaming device is cause for celebration. Be aware that it’s a slight offering by home console standards, though – it’s crying out to be part of a compilation release with its three sequels. Perhaps one for the Wishlist, then, but it’s a winner while it lasts.

A great game, but with no value added it isn’t worth buying over the mobile version. Too expensive for a game that’s best played on a mobile screen anyway.

Sure, the game isn't quite the innovative title it was in 2012, but the puzzles are still challenging enough to leave the player feeling like they've accomplished something once they finish the epilogue. It's a worthwhile addition to the Switch's library, and fans of other escape-the-room titles will get a real kick out of it for the few hours it lasts.

The graphic is superb, the music is not annoying and the puzzles are different enough to not be boring, however there are a few repetitive ones.
The only con is the control which only touch screen mode (or joycon but that does not apply to the switch light), which needs a bit of time for the player to be familiar with it.
Overall a good solid puzzle game which is almost always on discount so worth purchasing for less than 1 €.

For everyone that like escape rooms: This is the game for you!

I have never played a game before, where you really feel like are in an escape room. This game really conveys said feeling. The game revolves around trying to open a sort of chest and it is separated in different steps. You can use your controller to fiddle around with the object as you would in a real escape room and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Absolutely worth playing!

The only problem I have is that sometimes you will be trying to spin a object and the game thinks that you are trying to move the camera.
