An entertaining and fiercely satirical evocation of a future corporate dystopia, that manages to be both genuinely funny and surprisingly varied in its gameplay.

A knowing satire of big business, The Last Worker is a cathartic fight against the forces of capitalism, and one that centres it all with a very human story and fantastic performances. While delivering packages is satisfying, occasionally the gameplay outside of this drags the narrative down, but this still ticks almost all of the right boxes.

The Last Worker is an ambitious project and it sticks the landing when it comes to graphics, performance, and voice acting. However, its central box-shipping game is fiddly and the game’s pacing doesn’t let you get into the flow. Tricky sections requiring repeated checkpoint loads break the immersion and clash with the long, dawdling sections of exploring the Jüngle facility. It's likeable and well-packaged with plenty of character, but it doesn’t always deliver.

We experienced an exciting and intense story with interesting characters. Unfortunately, the gameplay can only convince after many failed attempts and annoying elements, and many players won't even get that far. But you will be rewarded with an interesting graphic style and a great soundtrack. Give "The Last Worker" a chance and every gamer should have played the game. Full Review »

It feels like someone on the dev team has actually spent time working at an Amazon warehouse, and the theming and main gameplay loop feels very authentic to that experience.

The controls can be very clunky, and although there is an option to use motion controls I haven't been able to get that feature to actually work. There's been several points in my playthrough where a cutscene trigger is either missed, and the game just sort of hangs out for awhile, or I'm not looking in the right direction for the cutscene to land properly. But even when a trigger is seemingly missed, the game still proceeds to load the next segment - so it doesn't actually interrupt the gameplay experience, it's just a little weird and makes scene transitions a little confusing. I'm currently stuck on a segment (the rats) in part due to the clunky controls and somewhat glitchy physics - it does sort of constantly feel like you're fighting against the game to make it work right, but that's not a dealbreaker for me personally. It reminds me of Happy's Humble Burger Farm, specifically in terms of general gameplay feel. It's glitchy, but very playable and very charming. It has a very concrete identity and vision, even if it's not perfectly executed at parts.
