The Inner World is a relaxing and well-crafted point & click game which, despite its lack of a touch screen control system, will certainly be enjoyed by most players thanks to its challenging puzzles, art style, voice acting and overall environment. While some of the puzzles might seem too off the mark, the overall experience is nothing short of positive and appealing.

The Inner World sports a highly realised fantasy world carried by a charming art style and well animated character sprites, although, unfortunately, the quality of the animation does not fully extend to its cut-scenes. It is otherwise sizeable for its price and a more than competent point-and-click adventure that just feels slightly sluggish because of how slow the dialogue plays out and also confusing at times due to how the actual gameplay mechanics are implemented.

A game that learns from the mistakes of the titles in which it is inspired. It will delight every fan of graphic adventures. A title that stands out in the Switch eShop.

Despite a disappointing lack of touch support and resulting control irritations, The Inner World has much to like and Asposia’s warped characters are delightful company, provided you’re happy to ask for help when you’re stuck. There’s certainly no shame in that – and the hints system works perfectly – but we didn’t have enough eureka! moments of our own to feel sufficiently satisfied with its wilfully obtuse solutions.

The Inner World has the potential to be a great adventure title, but unfortunately the use interface is a bit too confusing to provide a worthwhile experience.

Overall, while this game has a unique charm and an interesting world, the gameplay failed to make it a fond experience. For big fans of the genre, this might be worth picking up for a few hours’ entertainment, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

I enjoyed the ending and I loved the hint system. Full Review »

I really enjoyed the story & connected with the main character and his world. Even lack of touch controls was not so bad (while playing 2nd part on Switch, that support touch controls I quickly switched to the buttons control known from the 1st part). Give me more adventures in this world! One of my favourites experiences on the Switch (disclaimer I really like good adventure games ;) ). Full Review »

I had a blast while playing the game from start to finish, intrigued by the story and laughing at its jokes, the characters were unique and charming as well, and best of all they were voice acted, good voice acting at that. This game is another wonderful piece that belongs in your ever growing library of Nintendo switch games, and in the end I was begging for more, thankfully there's more where that came from with their second game, The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk.
