    This is my first visual novel and I genuinely enjoyed it. The story is intense and touchy, with quite a bit of twists. The character development and story build-up are top-notch. Music fits the scenes very well and are quite memorable and beautiful that I started listening to the OST on Youtube. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't enjoy reading. There is literally no combat/actions inThis is my first visual novel and I genuinely enjoyed it. The story is intense and touchy, with quite a bit of twists.     You people are complaining that it got perfect scores from 6 enthusiasts websites....websites that no one has ever heard of? WHO CARES! If people want to like this game, let them like it!     The best narrative game on Nintendo Switch. The music is really nice to fit the scene. The graphic look nice on Switch too. The story is attracting.

It makes me go nuts when people think because they don't like something or they find it boring it means the game is bad. This kind of mindset should not exist for review pages.

    This is a pretty good visual novel, it's not a masterpiece, but it's pretty good. This novel has amazing music, good art and good writing. The music itself hits pretty hard in some parts of the story. There is a lot of endings. If you like reading, have patience and enjoy tragic stories you will probably like this novel. Just like many novels, don't expect action or anything like that very early on. Chapter 3 broke my hearth; it felt pretty real and taught me how dangerous miscommunication is.

    You know how games like Hotline Miami are best enjoyed with headphones and high volume? Well I think visual novels like this one are best enjoyed at night. PLEASE remember that a VISUAL novel before a game, its a novel:).    … Expand

    The console version has more content than the PC version, and there is a chapter with a complete voice. I prefer this version.

    Personally, I liked the game. I would like to mention a few aspects:
    1)There are no character voices in main game. The reason being the OST are mainly all voiced, which makes the game more enjoyable.
    2) It is mainly a kinetic novel, meaning there are only choices with multiple endings and it mainly follows a linear storyline, so those who play the game expecting gameplay or puzzles, its    Personally, I liked the game. I would like to mention a few aspects:

    4) first two gates are among the weakest and 4 gates only serve as prologue, so don't dislike the game only based on 4 chapters, kindly atleast complete the fifth one before making your decision on game.
    5)The people blaming it to be not a game but a novel, the game genre literally says "visual novel", i.e novel with visuals, what else you think it will consist of?
    6)About the people here saying about the 100 meta score, well it cant be said anything from meta score,only user score matters as there are many good games with no meta score or bad meta score. honestly no one should care about that score.
    Check the game features from user reviews and gameplay before buying to know what you are paying for. You cant like all type of games. If you like fps games like GTA, it is expected you will dislike this game, the game has no issue.    … Expand

    By far one of the best visual novels out there, both the art and the music are outstanding, and it's rare to find writing so solid and compelling in this medium. Its aesthetic and the quality of the story also make it a great title for all sorts of newcomers to the visual novel medium. I can't wait to find out what the developers have in store next.

    Positives: Music is exquisite. The central conceit of the game is extremely engaging. Neutral: The prose is excellent; however, the dialogue is poorly paced an in need of editing. The visuals are interesting; however, the backgrounds and sprites are not cohesive. Negatives: With one major exception, the characters are bland. I had trouble feeling    Overall, a very solid VN.

    Wonderful piece of art, beautiful written story with well-crafted narrative and stunning artwork. The OST is simply incredible, I have purchased this game and the sequel. The soundtrack of this game never stopped impressing.

    Probably my favorite visual novel I've read yet. Gorgeous art with absolutely amazing music that always managed to only enhance the mood of the story. I also love the way it takes full advantage of the medium in certain parts to give the reader hints as to what is really going on in the story.

    I haven't finished yet but I am a little disappointed. It's my first time playing through this and at first it looked nice and interesting. But further into it, I think it's not as good as what I expected seeing the score on vndb/steam/metacritic.
    I feel the pacing could be better. I don't know if this is typical of vns, I haven't played a lot of them. Only reason i tried this one was because it has 100/100 score and that's like extreme rarity. Of course anyone buying this, has to keep in mind that it has 100/100 score with only 4 reviews.     But again, the story overall is good, the twists are interesting. Only hope the stories would have been more to the bloody point and concise, rather than stretching it for miles and miles. (yes reading an abridged version of this story would be really recommended)

    I would suggest this for 15 year olds. This isnt for the kids, and for the adults, I would suggest them to read the synopsis on wikipedia and not waste time.

    And if you've read visual novels before, and know there are usually such irritating conversations in them, then this could be a good visual novel after all.    … Expand

    A game for true gamers, requires reading so you might have to have an IQ of more than 80 to get it, but if you do you will surely enjoy this masterpiece. Just yes.

The soundtrack is insane, it has 4 of the best characters devised in any fictional story (Giselle, Morgana, Jacopo, and Michel), and the mystery is entriguing in a similar manner to Umineko. The only visual novel that I have never skipped a line in. 10/10… Expand

    I tried it because of extreme hype it has and i'm very confused. What is this? Video game? Really? You serious? With score 100? Did i shift into some parallel universe, because i want to go back to my universe where actually good games got credit. Not recommending.

    Overall it's very overrated. I'm serious. This is not some trolling or fake review. I actually have this game and i played it. There are so many better visual novels, i just can't believe it has metascore 100/100. I'm shocked and disappointed, because so much better games got way less attention.

    Very mediocre game. I finished it and i just don't like it. There's something missing and i guess biggest problem was this extremely high metascore, because thanks to that i was expecting something mind blowing, something extremely new or interesting, but it's just all same. I have played games like this forever. Not recommending!

    It has hardly any combat, it's just boring overall. I was literally waiting when will game actually start, but apparently it never starts. You just read it, that's it. That's the whole "game".
    How the hell has a book, 100/100 metascore on video game site? This is literally insulting. I just can't...

    The House in Fata Morgana is over 40 hours long, and in those 40 hours, you'll maybe get to make about three decisions. It is a visual novel in the strictest sense of the word, and you must be prepared for that going in. But with a fantastic, original, slow-burn story about love, loss, hurt, forgiveness, and recovery, it's one of the best visual novels out there — and your patience will be paid off in the end.
