    The game starts out well enough with a narrative ellipse, as well as good enviromental storytelling. Unfortunately the gameplay is fairly unrewarding, when riding the train you have an opportunity to listen to the dialogue of characters you have picked up along your travels; except you dont because you need to manage the train by completing dull chores while also making sure characters dont die from injuries or hunger (if you fail to keep a passenger fed you will find them in a pool of their own blood?). The narrative is told in snippets through npc's and notes, this starts off strong but very quickly the note format becomes:
    I am annoyed/worried about this person lately, who has been reclusive or acting odd
    tell me about it
    [no reply]
    are you there?
    [implication person has been killed by said zombified person}
    This could be fine but, atleast on the switch, the aiming is horrible, the levels quickly become linear, and the survival mechanics are really underdeveloped. There is no inventory management, there is no point to the variety of items you pick up because it all amounts to money, stuff to make medical kits, stuff to make bullets, which you then need to spend time producing while on the train trying to listen to the npc's. In sum there is an interesting world here but a vexing game to play.

    Me gusta este titulo, lo jugue en pc hace tiempo sin problemas la verdad y me hacia ilusión tenerlo en mi NIntendo Switch (consola que amo) pero nose si solo me ha ocurrido a mi, pero el juego se traba y no empieza. Lo tengo en formado digital, juego un poco, me salgo y cuando vuelvo a querer jugar no inicia, es con el único juego que me sucede y no es hasta que de la nada el juego vuelve a cargar una vez cada siglo. He reiniciado la consola, la he actualizado, tengo la ultima versión del juego y me sigue sucediendo. No se porque me sucede la verdad y solo por eso le doy un 3, realmente el titulo me parece una maravilla, es visualmente bonito y jugablemente adictivo, pero en mis condiciones no puedo darle una mejor nota :/ Expand

    As a vehicle for story, The Final Station is a tremendous effort which keeps you wondering as you piece together the snippets of story and while the combat and exploration suffices, it doesn’t live up to the narrative the developers deliver. Together, they make for a great experience, with a cryptic flair in the style of Twin Peaks, which leads to a superb set of final moments, leaving you wanting more and delivering with the extra content in the main menu

    An indie surprise in the catalog of the eShop, highly recommended if you like the zombie genre. Allow yourself to be transported by its silent and decadent atmosphere: explore, drive your train and let yourself be trapped by dangerous creatures of this magnificent world created by Do My Best Games.

    The thing with The Final Station is that it knows what it wants to be. This proud survival game mixes the eerie with action smoothly, and I couldn't help to be impressed. While it is more linear than I would have liked, it delivers on a thrilling experience that I can't get enough of. The pixelated style and its gameplay are some of the smoothest seen on the platform, and it is hard to pull yourself away just a tiny bit. The Final Station is an intriguing journey through and through.
