Throw in basic item collection, manipulation, and usage from the genre's standard for good measure, and an intuitive inventory system that takes the chore out of point and click adventuring, and The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1 starts to stand out from other in the same genre. The light-hearted storytelling vibe aids Bertram Fiddle considerably, and although the idea of chasing after a shadowy character with a comical at best name may not grip you with storytelling, the humor and total package will also win over even the most critical of gamers. This quality content is consistent in each chapter and includes a host of inventive puzzles that do not prove to be overly complex to the point of needing to begin randomly trying every object out on every item in the inventory. The only potentially tiresome sections are when the self-proclaimed "World's Greatest Victorian Explorator" must take part in a racing mini-game, first running after someone, and then away from something later on, and players are tasked with pressing up or down to help Fiddle dodge obstacles. However, even those sections are moderately fun thanks to them not being out played. The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1 deserves a place in any point and click fan’s Xbox digital library. A very decent, yet short, point and click game. It has good voice acting, animations, a nice and smooth art style, and a memorable cast of characters.

Bertram Fiddle knows what it wants to be, and it delivers just that: a short, easy point-and-click adventure, with quirky characters and plenty of British humour.

Not everyone will find this game funny, but you can judge for yourself just by watching the trailer. It worked great for me and my partner. Although she's not a gamer, we had a few hours of fun going through the game,

Not everyone will find this game funny, but you can judge for yourself just by watching the trailer. It worked great for me and my partner. Although she's not a gamer, we had a few hours of fun going through the game, chuckling at the puns, and enjoying the British accents and the very well done animation. The low difficulty level and very short running time might disappoint more seasoned adventurers, but they're perfect for newcomers to the genre, and for the easily frustrated.

I'd rather play a game that nails an easy target, than a game that misses an ambitious one. I'm looking forward to the second episode of Bertram Fiddle.

The story is a humorous one even if not every joke lands as intended and the puzzles need a little more breadth in approach, but the start of these new Adventurings are promising.

Overall, The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle plays well on the Switch and is a wonderful little entry point into the genre made popular by games like The Secret of Monkey Island and Day of the Tenticle. The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle isn’t quite as epic or hilarious as those two gems, but it has its moments.

The game leave a bittersweet taste on the palate. His script is too simple and as a graphic adventure it constantly stumbles. With the exception of Bertram, its characters are insipid and uninspired, and even so, the story of this episode manages to withstand with the stability of a noodle.
