    Solid rhythm game if you were planning on playing in handheld mode or with button controls. But the whole reason I bought this game was to play it with my drum controller that was designed specifically to be used in Taiko games and... it is only supported in Taiko (Free Play) Mode?

    That's right.     That's right. The Story Mode, which I am assuming most people will spend 99% of their time in because this is sold as an RPG first, does not support the drum controller. I feel like I've been scammed. If I knew that the game did not support my controller before I bought it I definitely would not have dropped $50 on it. Ridiculous.

    The controller has all the buttons you need on it already, too. They just didn't map them out of pure laziness. I cannot even fathom the thought process behind this.    … Expand

    I'm pretty sure most people buying this game are expecting to be able to use their expensive drum with it. You can't use this in adventure mode, aka the only reason to own the game. Unless it gets patched to work with the drum don't waste your money on this

    No drum support, no rumble support and very small selection of songs which aren't as good as the ones on the original drum n fun.

    The few songs that are good are repeats that are already available on drum and fun meaning that you are buying them twice if you own the original game. Rpg elements are a waste of time.     The rhythm aspect of the game is much like that of past entries in the series. But the main appeal to this game in the Adventure mode. You, as Taiko travel through time collecting party members while battling enemies using the drum to defeat them. It can get repetitive at some points but you can always leave battles. The two games it comes with are jam packed with interesting charactersThe rhythm aspect of the game is much like that of past entries in the series.     Just amazing game, the songs r great, and the RPG story is just insane, i mean you playing an RPG based on fights with SONGS!

    This is a good rhythm game. The plot is nearly non-existent but it will be a good play if you like rhythm games.

    There’s more depth here than in most rhythm games, which means that it’s awfully easy to get sucked in — and provided you don’t mind hearing some of the same music over and over again, that’s definitely not a bad thing.

    Ultimately, the new JRPG gameplay in the Rhythm Adventure Pack doesn’t change much about the Taiko no Tatsujin series — at its core, it caters to a very specific drum-loving audience, although I’d guess that kids would also have a blast with the percussive gameplay and songs from anime and game IPs.

    Taiko no Tetsujin Rhymic Adventure Pack, while not outstanding, is a solid entry to the series. Fans of the franchise will enjoy the free play mode as usual. The newcomers can go for the RPG Adventure mode if hardcore drumming to get the perfect S rank for every song is just too daunting for them.
