    The game that keeps better with each installment. I don’t know how they pulled it off, but the most impressive roster for any game, ever. Soundtrack is off the chains, plent of tracks from every represented character/franchise. Probably the best $90 I spent on a game and no complaints about paying for the DLC. Hopefully I’ll be playing as Ganondorf in my retirement home. ❤️

    It is one of the games that has made dreams come true, from the roster, scenarios, and other factors. Its gameplay improved considerably compared to its predecessor on the Wii U and has more to offer.

    The shield idea ruins an otherwise great old school mechanic of simply fighting and besting the characters in order to unlock them… “A Challenger Appears” was a great concept thrown completely out the window for the new mode but thankfully kept in for the Story mode.

    Other than that the Story mode has next to no story whatsoever save for the beginning cutscene and (haven’t chosen to play through it entirely yet so Idk about ending cutscenes or anything like that) however from what must be around halfway through I have yet to come across any real story… Only played SSBM (Super Smash Bros. Melee) on gamecube so I’ve little to no idea hm story is usually included and seems the main aspect of enjoyment is nearly if not solely focused on the side-scroller/arena style combat and unlocking new fighters. I mean, how cool would it’ve been if challengers were random instead of location based or perhaps even cooler, location-based but, with some actual buildup to essentially be Lords of their domain wherein there could be a bit of buildup or even story which leads up to challenging them and unlocking not only them but the land, shops/gyms/etc (I do not understand dojos and thus never bothered with them). So, so much potential in the next instalments

    Not really into the Spirit Board soft-locking us out after say hitting a shield and such… sort like the rotation concept because I understand it but why not all them all at the same time? Just makes it extremely convoluted imho

    Great game series but somethings could be done much better… miss the trophy style collection and overall feel of combat (especially with the final boss/bosses) SSBM had :(

    Somewhere around 7.2 - 7.4/10 as personally, all the negatives really weigh it down for me    … Expand

    The best fighting game ever. I have over 730 hours on this game and it was one of the first games I owned. This game is perfect.

    In my opinion, this is simply the best fighting game ever made. The most diverse roster, an absolute bucketload of stages, items, assists, spirits- you name it. This game is truly 'Ultimate' in every sense of the word. Sakurai and the Smash team worked themselves to the bone to deliver the utterly definitive Smash experience. Ultimate caters to both diehard Melee players and those justIn my opinion, this is simply the best fighting game ever made. The most diverse roster, an absolute bucketload of stages, items, assists, spirits- you name it. This game is truly 'Ultimate' in every sense of the word. Sakurai and the Smash team worked themselves to the bone to deliver the utterly definitive Smash experience. Ultimate caters to both diehard Melee players and those just looking to have fun in equal dosages, not to mention bringing in just about every majorly desired Smash character. I remember being genuinely sad when the final DLC came out a couple years ago because of just how entrancing it was to follow the game's DLC. This game never bores, even for a single player experience, and for that I love it so dearly. Apart from a slightly enhanced port (which is of itself very unlikely), I genuinely have no idea how a future Smash game could even begin to compare to this. Truly the Ultimate Smash.… Expand

    I dont need much to say, but this is more than a 10/10. THE FACT THAT SAKURAI BROUGHT EVERY FIGHTER BACK AND ADDED CHARACTERS LIKE STEVE, SORA, AND BANJO KAZOOIE MAKES THIS GAME THE BEST SMASH BROS GAME EVER MADE!!!

    I hate fighting games like Tekken and the rest because they have such a high standard of skill, it's just not fun.

    But this... this is something else. The controls are simple, every character has the same button layout. The campaign is simple, fun, and challenging. That's the theme of this game. Fun. I've put in way more hours into this game than I thought I would.     Legit the best fighting game EVER, its the perfect combo, there isn't a person alive who likes fighting games that wouldn't like smash ultimate, its controls feel great, very responsive, and the cast of fighters is diverse, allowing many play styles. The game is overall just excellent.

    Really fun game to play with friends or alone (if you don't have any). The gameplay is so smooth, and I like playing this while watching a twitch stream or something. If you don't have it already, I recommend buying it, it's really good.

    This has spoilers but who gives a freeg. World of light is massive, but almost too massive, it takes MANY hours to complete. its good for a kid that can only buy one game. The adventure mode also has bosses that are unique and fun to take down. Adventure mode, is only a small portion of the game, however. The rest is great, every character has their own feel and playstyle, so anybody canThis has spoilers but who gives a freeg.     I recently played Super Mario Bros. Ultimate and I must say, it is an amazing game! The graphics are stunning, the controls are smooth, and the levels are challenging yet fun. I love the fact that there are so many characters to choose from, each with their own unique abilities. The game also has a great soundtrack that adds to the overall experience.     This is not just a Nintendo fighting game. This game has an extremely diverse set of characters, ranging from Kirby to Snake. It celebrates not only Nintendo, but gaming as a whole in one of the best fighting games ever.

Characters have many different fighting styles that everyone can play how they want. (Unless you just platform camp as Steve). This game will probably never be forgotten, and it deserves to be loved and appreciated by most gamers. I truly am thankful to Mr sakurai for all of the hard work he put into the game, and the hard work he had to do by negotiating with all the different companies loaning their characters to the game. All the fandom has done questionable things over the years, I'm not judging the game due to its fandom, if we would go by that logic most everything would be toxic or cringe. I honestly feel like Super Smash Brothers is one of the greatest video game series of all time and Super Smash Brothers ultimate specifically is the best game in the series hands down.… Expand

    This is the best Super Smash Bros game I have played. And the fact that every single character is back with a new story mode makes it perfect. Especially with the final DLC being Sora from Kingdom Hearts.

Other “Echo Fighters” have at least two major differences that set them apart), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate easily has the best roster in the series. Gameplay is the fastest it’s been since Melee, withUltimate is right - this truly is the greatest Smash Bros. Game of all time! Despite some questionable choices (Richter, Daisy, and Dark Samus are all near identical to their base fighters. Other “Echo Fighters” have at least two major differences that set them apart), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate easily has the best roster in the series. Gameplay is the fastest it’s been since Melee, with dodging being reworked, and easier methods to perform certain techniques. For Single-Player content, Classic Mode is better than ever, with each character getting a personalized route. The Spirit Board and World of Light are fun side modes to do in your spare time. Special modes like Multi-Man Smash and Home Run Contest allow for you to work and improve a high score, and Stage Builder allows you to make your own stages, with four different layers to build on!

    The worst part of Smash Ultimate is by far the Online Play. Matchups are based around GSP, a ranking system made for the game. However, high GSP doesn’t inherently make one skilled, and low GSP doesn’t inherently make one bad. It is very possible to practice for a while, hop online, and get destroyed by someone who, despite having lower GSP, is SIGNIFICANTLY more skilled than you. It is also possible to do the reverse, destroying someone with more gsp despite having little to no practice. The online is also prone to lag, and even with good internet, inputs may struggle to be read, making certain characters a lot worse overall.


    However, the online experience is such a small portion of an otherwise near-perfect game. So overall, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gets the seal of approval.    … Expand

    En una saga que no deja de mejorarse en cada juego, éste llega a cotas inimaginables en sus inicios. Los mejores personajes y música de las mejores sagas de videojuegos. Una jugabilidad única, profunda y adictiva, capaz de librar los combates más serios o los más locos y divertidos. Un enorme homenaje a una saga y al mundo de los videojuegos.

    Haven't really played any smash before, but this sure is a great experience, characters ( for the most part ) fair to fight and balanced, only issue is the price ( 100+ € for the game + both DLC packs ) but the potential play time more than makes up for that. Insanely high skill ceiling helps with this

As a follow-up to all the other Smash games Nintendo has produced, it represents years of fine-tuning and creativity the franchise has to offer. Everything here is massively improved from previous entries. Fight mechanics are much more precise and enjoyable,This really is the "ultimate" Super Smash Bros game! As a party game that's the ultimate crowd-pleaser, this doesn't disappoint. As a follow-up to all the other Smash games Nintendo has produced, it represents years of fine-tuning and creativity the franchise has to offer. Everything here is massively improved from previous entries. Fight mechanics are much more precise and enjoyable, items are more dynamic yet balanced than ever, and various game modes with spirit introduction add a new layer of gameplay that makes collecting genuinely rewarding.

    For the story mode/World of Light, as repetitive and tedious as the spirit battles can become, it ended up being so enjoyable that I was actually happy to start a New Game +. I do wish there was some more narrative elements and maybe more cutscenes throughout but I can't complain given the amount of areas, battles, and sometimes puzzles to solve.

    There are a couple of complaints I have. One of which is the absence of target smash which was a huge part of melee I really loved. I understand designing unique target smash courses with each of the 64+ characters is a ridiculous feet but maybe making generic stages like in Brawl could've helped. Target Smash was always a great place for me to learn all the character's move sets in a fun and challenging way.

    I'm also disappointed to see so many Fire Emblem characters that don't differentiate themselves from each other all that much. Sorry to the Fire Emblem fans maybe I'm just not a fan of the series that much but I would've loved to see Waluigi, King Boo, another Pokemon, and maybe some others. The re-skins of characters were disappointing as well. Why have Pichu when we already have Pikachu? The moves are the same! Even making a hefty and burly Raichu instead could've mixed things up. The DLC characters however are fantastic and add a great variety I wasn't expecting.

    On the game modes, I would've liked to see a few variations of the bonus stage on classic mode. However, catering the fight experience to each fighter was a nice touch. For the stages, there's more options than ever and one of my favorite features of this game is the battlefield and flat variations of every stage. That is such a brilliant and much needed addition for people that prefer the simple stage layout but want more visual variation.

    Another small nitpick is actually just how easy it is to unlock characters. Literally I felt like I just opened a menu somewhere and I was being challenged. Older games unlocking characters really felt like something special but it doesn't at all in this game.

    Overall, the game is truly fantastic, notwithstanding my nitpicks. It's fun, has so much to offer, and the fun doesn't end when you complete World of Light. I'm still having fun clearing the challenge boards, Spirit boards, and going through NG+. It really is a fantastic game and my personal favorite Super Smash game of all time now.    … Expand

    Unlocking a legend spirit is a challenge, a unfair one too, it ALWAYS is based off of Luck with its items and the CPU'S COMBOS that are not possible for a human too pull off.     Good if you are looking for a good casual smash get this game it has a very good story and good controls but not the most popular as melee competitive and you could make an argument on which story is better brawl or ultimate

    Smash Ultimate is the king of fighting hits like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, and I feel like it’s a HUGE improvement to Smash 4, because of new fighters, great gameplay, and the amazing World of Light story.

    Then we got even more fighters in Fighters Pass 2#. Min Min from ARMS, Steve from Minecraft (No, we aren't joking!), Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Kazuya from Tekken, and finally... Sora from Kingdom Hearts.

    The soundtrack is packed with some of the most iconic videogame music, from old school to modern, it's the most diverse soundtrack to date.

    An amalgamation of every single Super Smash Bros. game combined into one huge package, an entire videogame Museum that consists of some of the most popular and beloved videogame franchises in history. This game reminds me of my childhood in every single way, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

    This simply unrivaled fighting game is perfect for any game night, except it's not because if you get too good, everyone will start to hate you and refuse to play with you. Kids remember, keep the party games under 50 personal hours played, for everyone's enjoyment.

    Ultimate's only shortcoming is its relatively banal single-player experience. The World of Light mode, while far better than nothing, seems to pale in comparison to either Melee's Adventure Mode or Brawl's Subspace Emissary in terms of both novelty and scope. Seeing Ultimate take more of a chance on something new and innovative in this regard would have been wonderful, and it feels somewhat disappointing that the game would fall back on solely providing a sublime multiplayer experience, forcing the single-player mode to seem a bit like an afterthought, much like Smash Tour on the Wii U.

    If you like Smash Bros., this game, in general, will not leave you disappointed in the slightest. Even as the single player experience may leave you wanting, the multiplayer experience that has defined Smash Bros. up to this point is at its absolute best here.    … Expand

    I love that I can play this game with the sweatiest of sweats or my 7 year old brother and have about as much fun both ways. This is a super technical fighting game with a really wide variety of characters from a huge swathe of genres but it's also just great that Bowser can deck Cloud strife in the nose.

    This platform fighter is the best out there, I am so impressed on everything the Smash bros team was able to do with this game. If you haven’t played you need to, the roster is great, the stage selection phenomenal, and all the little details, tons of game modes, and super long story mode, thus game is just about perfect

    At every party, I hook up my switch to a TV to play Video Games: The Game, to put a smile on everyone's face. Even people who don't play video games know at least one character from this game. That's the level of collaboration here. They got The Legend Of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, Pokemon, heck even Minecraft is here. Truly the greatest roster of all time.

    No soy fanático de los Smash, me dio muy buenos momentos y es divertido. Es un obligado de la generación. No le doy una nota más alta porque en lo personal no se la doy, eso es todo. Pero no tengo quejas ni nada, es un juego redondo al que le he dedicado más de 220 horas.

    Go back to the retirement homes Melee boomers, this is the best Super Smash Bros game. Most characters. Best music. Balanced. No stupid wave dashing. I don't know what Nintendo is possibly going to do for the next one because it's hard for me to imagine this ever being topped.

    The visuals are good as well. The colors are just right - not as vibrant as Sm4sh, but also not as bleak as Brawl. Each character and stage is visually stunning, with detailed appearances on the characters and fun & interesting stages.

    I don't really have much of a verdict on the online mode, but overall it seems pretty decent to me.

    My ONLY problem with this game is the story mode. I think that World of Light is really fun, but I wish it more cinematic like the Subspace Emissary.

    Other than that, this game is practically perfect. This game has set a new standard for fighting games, and has even inspired other games like Multiversus. This is a must buy for anyone with a Switch.    … Expand

    This game did not need to go as hard as it did. The game play, music, detail, fun references to past games, they are all here. Heck they even let you listen to all the voices in the game (even the announcer). Highly recommend giving this game a shot.
