Oct 5, 2018It's not perfect, but I've owned and played all the console Mario Partys - and this is the best one. It really is the most accessible, and the graphics are gorgeous. Mini Games are mostly great, some stellar ones, some that are a little meh, but always lots of laughs in the room for each.
By the way, my 9 score is as a 4-player game. As a solo 1 player game, it's probably a 6 or 7. -

Oct 5, 2018Nice game, so many modes, and so much fun minigames. I want to see more stages to play in the party mode.

Oct 5, 2018A true return to form for Mario Party. Not perfect, but damn close. An absolute blast.

Oct 14, 2018It's a good game. Not so many mini-games, boards... really tiny (the stars moves often really close to the character who took the star just before).
But it works, all ppl i've played with are full of joy, laughing, asking to continue to play; even sometimes refusing to play at first and loving it ! It's really nice game but not much more. -

Nov 2, 2018The best Mario Party to date! Such a fun and fantastic time to play this with family and friends in the living room!
-
Oct 25, 2018Quite fun to play, better than previous Mario Parties and more in line with some of the classic ones. Having an online option is also good, would've been perfect if the online was strenghtened and had more options too.

Nov 16, 2018While the amount of boards is very small, it’s still a decent game. If dlc comes with new boards I’ll rate higher. The character roster is decent. It’s better than the 9 and 10 games, but falls a bit short with 8 and earlier.

Nov 8, 2019I did over play it when it first released; I believe coming back to it and playing it a year later, the biggest thing that sticks out to me, negatively, would be a lack of boards. Although, it is definitely a fun party game played in small bursts. The controls work well and the motion related controls tend to work most of the time.

Oct 8, 2018Good game, not great. The 80 mini games are fun. The game maps are good, you get to move individually. Nice return to the Mario Party series!

Oct 8, 2018A very charming experience with excellent presentation. The variety of gameplay options and a multitude of new strategies yield a very enjoyable party this time around. My only critique is that some of the minigames feel very bland and average. Overall, a fun and refreshing Mario Party game that's worth the buy.

Oct 8, 2018The newest - and the Switch's first - edition of Mario Party breathes new life into the franchise with a plethora of game modes. Yes, the online mode at release is certainly lacking which is why this review is 9 instead of 10/10. Do yourself a favor and pick this game up to play with friends and family alike as this is where the game shines.

Oct 5, 2018What a fantastic game to play with friends locally on Nintendo Switch! Hopefully they add Board Play Online as well as more boards
-
Oct 14, 2018Really fixed the series. Things are back to the way they should have always stayed. But more than that it has made the game more skill based, by making the dice have lower numbers and special numbers. Each turn has an important decision to make about where you will likely land.

Mar 6, 2019Super Mario Party goes back to its roots and delivers just like it should. The vast number of different modes, really prevents any to shine the brightest, but the entire game is a small step back that greatly leaps forward. It makes us only more excited for the next entry. Something we haven't felt with the Mario Party series in ages...

CD-ActionFeb 13, 2019Both players and critics agreed that in the last couple of years Mario Party’s quality has been dropping. Nintendo decided to go for broke this time and I hope slapping “Super” in front of the title heralds the restart of the franchise, because SMP finally delivers what we expected. [12/2018, p.51]

Game World Navigator MagazineDec 21, 2018Complex and unpredictable board game, numerous mini-games and being able to play as your favorite character – those are the three pillars of Mario Party’s success. Neither of these elements was polished to perfection over the years, but together they offer a very enjoyable experience. [Issue#234, p.72]
