what about some cool concept art, or something other extras, how about actually updating Mario 64's visuals to at least the standards of Galaxy 1 - I would've been more than pleased with that. but no, Nintendo is all about maximum profits, for minimum efforts - as usual..

One point for each game. This is such a lazy cash grab. There are 4k 60fps versions of Mario 64 in 16:9 and Nintendo gives us 720 30fps and 4:3 for an ANNIVERSARY edition game. People are starting to look at Nintendo differently and before it gets out of control they need to stop being so lazy.

As others have said already, it's such a lazy cash grab. Yes the games themselves are great, but there could have been done so much more with this. I don't understand why Nintendo just didn't give this the same treatment as they gave Ocarina of Time & Majoras Mask on the 3DS all those years ago. Instead, we get a lazy barebones super package for the "35th anniversary". Which sucks since Mario is their "biggest" franchise and in turn does not bode well for the anniversary of both Legend of Zelda and Metroid next year.

As much as I appreciate replaying these classic games, the compilation feels lazily put together. One of my main gripes is that Mario 64 is not widescreen. On a switch lite that means you are squinting at a tiny box in the middle of your screen. How can an unofficial port on PC be in 4K widescreen, whereas Nintendo themselves can't do it...laziness!

The £50 price tag is not at all justified

A very obvious and lazy cash grab. Nintendo fans are to blame, Nintendo only saw an oppurtunity for fast money and took it. Next time don't cry tears of joy when someone recycles 3 old games.

The amount of work put into these ports is almost non-existent. At least they changed Sunshine to 16:9 but why not Mario 64? It looks ridiculous with it's huge black frame. And the camera controls of 64 are really weird because it's meant for the C-buttons on the N64 controller, not for an analogue stick. They could've at least changed that. The only good thing are the very short loading times.

It has it's flaws, but it's a great collection of games, and anyone who has played the originals knows that there absolutely are improvements. These were never meant to be REMAKES.

I think there's a lot of rose colored glasses here. I would suggest some of the salty people here to break out a GameCube and play Mario Sunshine on a 4:3 CRT and see if you still think they didn't fix anything.

These 3 are easily some of my favourite games of all time, but the fact that with the exception of Galaxy the other games use some nasty emulators that don't even hand a candle to the originals in terms on controls on Sunshine and visuals on 64 (Why are those borders even here?) shows how lazy of a collection it is, what a shame.

Unfortunately a very lazy collection, Mario deserved more.

The games are still great, but 64 is only 4:3, 64 and Sunshine are 30 frames, both have still the same camera issues of the original versions, no improvements whatsoever in that regard.

Motion controls are completely forced in Galaxy, even in the menus!

Not only is the collection inexplicably highly time-limited, it's missing a game (that being Super Mario Galaxy 2), and it's painfully obvious across the entire collection that Nintendo only put in the bare minimum amount of effort.

Super Mario 64 being based on the bugfixed Shindo version released exclusively in Japan is not necessarily a bad thing, even if it does remove some of the game's most iconic glitches and exploits, but unlike Sunshine it's inexplicably still in 4:3 instead of 16:9 and features no meaningful adaptations or additions otherwise.

Super Mario Galaxy meanwhile is fairly inoffensive for the most part except for the part where the game is literally unplayable on two of the three possible control schemes due to Nintendo's exceptionally poor handling of the matter of the cursor. Using the touch screen for the cursor during gameplay is massively impractical and aiming it with gyro on Pro controller is incredibly awkward. Playing with Joycons feels more or less identical to playing the game as it was on the Wii, but of course comes with the caveat of drift.

But the real reason for the massively critical score of TWO is Sunshine. Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy weren't handled well, but at least they aren't actively worse than their original versions.

For those who don't know, in the original version on the GameCube, Sunshine had an interesting, obscure feature colloquially dubbed the 'shotgun spray' or 'spam spray'; by quickly and briefly pressing the R button fully and releasing, Mario would fire out a wide blast of water, which was excellent for clearing large areas of goop, dealing with certain problematic enemies (anyone who's played Sunshine likely has a good idea of what enemies I mean), and in general for just putting out a lot of water at once. This was an intended feature.

This feature is absent in 3D All-Stars.

The reason for this is pretty obvious; unlike the GameCube controller and literally every other modern console, the Switch does not feature analogue triggers, and as such this aspect of FLUDD's functionality would not be workable in its original capacity on Switch. Of course, the obvious flaw with this is the fact that every single Switch-compatible controller, with only two exceptions, has additional buttons that this functionality could easily have been assigned to instead. Or it could've been implemented as a combination of both spray buttons. Or it could've been implemented any number of other ways, likely very easily. But they didn't do anything like that. They just removed it.

It's unbelievably obvious that Nintendo put the absolute bare minimum amount of effort into these ports- which are EMULATED, by the way, they're not even actual ports- if not less, and in doing so have actively taken away from one of the involved games. These are all widely-loved games that did not deserve this kind of treatment.

I absolutely adore Galaxy, but if I could refund this game, I would. But, of course, it's Nintendo. No refunds for anyone.
