It has it's flaws, but it's a great collection of games, and anyone who has played the originals knows that there absolutely are improvements. These were never meant to be REMAKES.

I think there's a lot of rose colored glasses here. I would suggest some of the salty people here to break out a GameCube and play Mario Sunshine on a 4:3 CRT and see if you still think they didn't fix anything.

super mario 64 is available for 20$, super mario sunshine is available for 50$, super mario galaxy is available for 20$. 20+50+20=90$. So tell me how 60$ is overpriced

i will admit the limited digital release is stupid though.

I’ll give this an 8 for the quality of the product. Nintendo could of , and should packed so much more content into this anniversary limited run to celebrate Mario’s anniversary. Disappointing they didn’t honor their main guy with more to this product.

    The goods:

    - Super Mario 64 looks great with 60fps,
    - Super Mario Sunshine looks great with format 16:9.
    - Super Mario Galaxy looks great in portable mode.

    The bads:

There are 3 masterpieces in a collection, but it is true that the remastering in HD could have been worked more.

Super Mario 3D all-star is a simple port of three highly critically acclaimed games. While a bit wanting and pricey, these games never officially felt as polished.

It’s easy to rate this collection based on what we wanted them to be (The exclusion of Mario galaxy 2 is an unfortunate one). For what they are, it’s a great package. The limited availability is a problem. Unless they plan to

Also most people who don’t like this game are just mad about galaxy 2 not being featured and while that does suck, it would make sense not to include it here as then it would push back the game maybe it will be added as dlc in the near future. Also some people call this a lazy attempt to sell games and make money. That is true but this game is a COLLECTION and not a REMASTER. So of course the games are going to be the same. Overall a great experience but it has a few things that could be patched out so I give it a 9/10

The main menu for the collection is sleek, museum like, and each game is loaded remarkably quickly. The addition of the official soundtracks for all three games, while being the games only special feature, is still a very welcome addition. Overall, this is a good collection that could have been great with the addition of more features and especially more controls methods and tweaks to iron out the few flaws these titles had. Expand

I can't speak for those who got this having already owned the originals but I bought this to play Galaxy and Sunshine since I slept on Nintendo games back during the gamecube and wii eras. Coming from that perspective I have very little issues with the collection and wouldn't even realize there were problems with it if I didn't see all the negative reviews online talking about them. To me this is just an HD collection, and I knew that going in so I wasn't expecting all kinds of big sweeping improvements.

I started with Galaxy, got all 120 stars over about a week. Pretty easy game, and I feel the motion controls were pretty gimmicky and not necessary, but overall I still enjoyed it for the creativity and fun gameplay.

Sunshine I'm still playing currently, about 3/4 of the shines collected. This one is definitely one of the jankiest Mario games I've played especially where minigames are concerned. At first I didn't like it very much but once I started playing the second level (Ricco Harbor) was when it started clicking for me, and since then I've really been liking it. I might be in the minority but I think I like this game more than Galaxy. I like the water mechanics with fludd and the location is probably my favorite I've been to thus far in the mario universe. It helps that I'm a sucker for sunny colorful water levels in videogames so the atmosphere really does it for me as well, and it's cool how the island feels like it's an actual place you're exploring where you can see other levels in the distance from the one you're currently in. It took me some time to get settled in but I can see why there are people who hold this one in such high regard despite it's rough edges.

    Super Mario Sunshine - 8/10
    Super Mario Galaxy 10/10

    Calificación: 9/10

Sin embargo, debo restar algo de puntuación al pack en sí debido al poco trabajo mostrado en Super Mario 64 sin estar a 16:9 y sin la traducción a castellano.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There is no doubt that those games are historical but i feel like they haven't aged very well or at least as well I expected. Nonetheless they are great games and nothing changes that. Let's talk about the individually. Super Mario 64:The nostalgia hit like a truck when I played again this game after so many years(it was the first video game I remember playing) and it's the beginning of everything. For its time, it actually has good moveset and levels but the controls and the camera have aged terribly though. Overall it's great game but definetely not for one to play on 2020 except for nostalgia or if you are a newer fan and want to try the begging of Mario 3D platformers.

Super Mario Sunshine :This game has incredibly good colors and the overall theme is amazing. In HD it looks way better that it used too.The game though is very challenging comparing to the other 2 and generally to any other Mario 3D platformer. The controls are hard and levels even harder for those controls. Nintendo also removed the long jump in the game for some reason which is one of the most important moves of Mario in all other games. Instead they added Fludd. Overall it's good but very challenging I believe.

Super Mario Galaxy:This game is the best I believe. It has the best levels, theme and Mario's moveset is controlled way better than the other 2(most of the times). The only con I find ,except that sometimes Mario doesn't go to the direction you want,is that (SPOILER) you have to play the game again as Luigi to 100% it. It's about 25 hours..Overall it's amazing and the best of the 3 I believe. The trilogy here is great even though Nintendo could make some improvements instead of HD ports which are made on emulators...They could fix some controls, bugs and glitches and at the same time keep the nostalgia textures and graphics. I strongly recommend this game nonetheless.

    GOOD - But needed updating

I will start with the fact that I simply cannot play Super Mario 64 as the controls are so hard to get back to grips with in modern day gaming. Mario turns like a truck - in a big, wide arc, rather than on a dime like you would expect; the result of which is infuriating as you try to speak to characters or read signposts around the castle and worlds. I bought this game however to play Sunshine again and to finally play Galaxy (I had a Wii late in the lifecycle and as such never got around to it). I am not disappointed with Sunshine at all though and the HD textures do what was already a beautiful game justice, but again, the controls are a little hard at times: especially in the platforming levels!

Was it worth £50? Yes as there are three fantastic games present on the cart.
Was it in need of an facelift? Certainly yes for 64, which begs the question as to why they didn't use the updated models from the DS release.
Was it in need of some tweaking? Absolutely, and this is where it falls down as Nintendo seem to have just pulled the ROMs and slapped them on a cart. New camera controls for Sunshine and 64 would have been a must for most players asked and the control scheme itself can be infuriating at times.

Here's hoping for some patches, but I shan't hold my breath.

Let me say that first of all, this game is an absolute masterpiece! Everything about this game is so good! All of these reviews are based on what the game isn’t actually is. It’s being reviewed like it’s a remaster and not the emulation it is. I would highly recommend this game, both for the young and old to have fun with and enjoy. Super Mario 3D All-Stars does the job. But only just. The games are emulated, and while I've seen no graphical glitches thus far, there are audio glitches I hope will be patched soon (but I won't hold my breath). Mario 64 looks better when sourced through unofficial channels, but this is the best these games have looked on a Nintendo console. I can't defend the absence of special features, nor the decisions to emulate the games rather than port /remaster/rebuild them. On the other hand, Nintendo is under no obligation to release any of this, and as someone who missed out on Mario Sunshine and Galaxy in their first release, I'm very happy to play them on the go and in high definition at home.

Bottom line I can't deny this is a lazily assembled package, but when its this fun, I really can't complain.
