I good collection, it doesn't do nothing new, but it's very recommended if you'd never played one of these really good games, even tho i didn't like sunshine that much. I think for this collection to be a lot better, it needs Galaxy 2 honestly

3 of your favorite mario games are back! In an extremely lazy and unspired format, you could get the exact same experience from roms, but Mario All Stars charges $60 for 3 games that have been out for years and didn't even do anything to change the games whatsoever. Nice emulation, but I would've loved to see Mario 64 at full screen. Moreover, I miss save states for SM64, which the Wii U version had. Missing Super Mario Galaxy 2 prevents this review from a green score.

Great way to play the games on an HDtv. All 3 games are still fun to play till this day. However i wished they filled this collection with more stuff. I mean, is it so hard to make a little booklet or show some history in the ingame menu with video's and pictures of the making? I expected a little more.

The games by themselves are masterpieces, but Nintendo has been lazy with this bundle. Don’t get me wrong, I love these games, but what bugs me is that Nintendo could have done more to make the ports optimal for the Nintendo Switch. Shunshine is damaged : fludd control is inverted and joycon controls are too meticulous ...soi tryed with a GC controller and it works far better !!! You need to remap ZL in switch settings menu :) if only nintendo can add some features to invert sticks...

Mario 64 was my favourite game and felt revolutionary at the time. I don't mind the lack of wide-screen but fighting with the controls and camera angle makes the game really show its age.

Galaxy was a brilliant game. Easily as good as most modern day platformers and in my opinion better than the sequel. Again, it looks fantastic and plays great when docked. Unfortunately, the controls in handheld haven't been thought through at all. You are expected to take your hand off the controller to touch the screen and collect things while performing difficult platforming sections at the same time.

So there we have it. One game really showing its age, one game that wasn't much good anyway and the only decent game by modern standards completely ruined for handheld players.

However, this is brought down by the quality of the collection. At its core, 3D All-Stars is an overpriced, unimproved mess that includes issues fans fixed years ago that was barely changed to fit with the Switch better. If it weren't for those issues, this would likely by the best Mario game ever, but it's painfully obvious that this was meant to be a quick cash grab by Nintendo.

Super Mario 64 being the only game remastered with the other two not. The fact that the game is limited, and the collection to celebrate the plumber's 35th anniversary is bland and I like this collection. But this isn't a way to celebrate a mascot's anniversary. Perhaps when he turns 40 we'll get more, more extras, something like Kirby's 20th Anniversary. This game needs more content and games. Expand

I plugged in my original gamecube controller and found that the B button was rigged to the Y button. They lazily decided that they would only make proper controls for switch controllers despite it being a gamecube game. I decided to use the pro controller but was again met with dismay to see that the water spraying mechanics are now rigged to both of the R triggers. As someone that loves the game for the movement, I hate that Nintendo was too lazy to make proper gamecube controls, and tried to innovate something that didn't need it. Sunshine could have easily take advantage of Gyro, upgraded water texture/physics for instance.

Mario Galaxy. I much preferred the second game. Nintendo mentioned they updated the graphics a little. I fail to see it. It's enjoyable, brings back a wave of nostalgia, but when I own a Wii and Super Mario Galaxy, I fail to see the point to buy it on Switch full price, which I reckon is why it's 'limited time'.

Mario 64. The camera aged horribly and was not changed at all. I've been wanting to complete Mario 64 for a while now on 3D All Stars, but I just find the camera irritating. I own Mario 64 DS and I've completed that 2 times in a row, and each time I enjoy it as much as the last. Maybe I'm biased with the camera as I was a Sonic kid growing up which didn't have camera issues for me, but I'd find the game much more enjoyable if they edited the camera a slight bit.

I have not yet gotten round to playing Mario Sunshine. It looks like a fun game but I basically only played £50 for Mario Sunshine, which I could just get a GameCube and Mario Sunshine for probably only just a little more.

It's great for a first time player, but compared to other remastered games (Star Fox 64 3D (which was on the DS, may I note), Twilight Princess HD), it lacks in adding updated features to build it up to modern expectations.
