    I have to say, I was quite disappointed with Super Mario 3D All-Stars. While it was great to have three classic Mario games in one package, the overall experience just didn't live up to my expectations. The graphics were improved, but not by much, and the controls felt clunky and unresponsive at times. It also felt like there wasn't enough new content to justify the price. Overall, I wouldI have to say, I was quite disappointed with Super Mario 3D All-Stars. While it was great to have three classic Mario games in one package, the overall experience just didn't live up to my expectations.     NIntendo just wants money. Galaxy 2 was the last good 3D Mario game, afterwards, they all sucked and just wanted money. Speaking of, they chose to exclude Galaxy 2 to get more money for their value.

    Ok, this is NOT based on the games in the collection, this is based on how the main game does when it comes to making these 3 amazing titles justice..and holy **** they didn't do any of that. Now before I want to say the bad, I wanted to say the good. The $60 price tag isn't all that bad, mainly because these games go for high prices on sites like eBay. If you take something like Crash, he had 3 of his games, but they were remastered. Now I understand that Nintendo can't remaster the games, and that's ok, but Crash was only $40, but $60. I will say the smaller updates to the games are so dumb, Mario 64 got sightly better graphics, Sunshine got a wider screen, which makes no sense, and can't the others do the same, and I forgot about Galaxy. Overall this game isn't garbage, but other games truly do the classic games they were trying to be back justice, like Crash.… Expand

    As always, Mario 64 is fantastic and one of Mario's best adventures (especially in 3D) and I am glad to have it on the switch with improved graphics too! I am giving 3D all stars as a whole a 4 though, Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine are terrible games and I do not understand why people like them. Mario Galaxy has too much of a difficulty spike early on and the mechanics are annoying. InAs always, Mario 64 is fantastic and one of Mario's best adventures (especially in 3D) and I am glad to have it on the switch with improved graphics too! I am giving 3D all stars as a whole a 4 though, Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine are terrible games and I do not understand why people like them. In Mario Sunshine, the levels are far too difficult to find and the F.L.U.D.D. mechanics are annoying, unfun, and they add very little to the game. The only good part of Sunshine is the music, the creation of Bowser Jr. and E. Gadd references. Mario galaxy barely has any good music and all of the new characters are rubbish. Mario 64, as usual, knocks the music out of the park, the low poly graphics are very charming and some of the enemies introduced here are great too! I do wish there was a way to view all of the artwork outside of the loading screens though, and the soundtrack/ jukebox section is a nice addition. All in all, I only got this to play Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine (I had already played 64), and I did not enjoy the games very much at all. Very overrated (except Mario 64).… Expand

    I was expecting far more for Mario's 35th anniversary. Something like Kirby's dream collection for the wii. But unfortunately this is just a pretty lazy re release of the most important 3d Mario games.

The games are all the original games playing in emulators - flawed emulators. Enhanced graphics are done by having the emulator swap out textures with higher resolution ones on the fly. What the world received was one of the laziest compilation jobs out there. At the very least, the collection did include some side content, mostly in a music player. But that doesn't redeem that the games themselves, already limited to three with several other titles that people were looking for absent, were presented this badly.… Expand

These ports are missing a polishing touch. Unfortunately, this was not that great for me. The 3D World port that came out alongside this game was way more enjoyable.     A lazy, half-assed port that should have been 20$. It's sad to see Nintendo exploiting their fans who would buy almost anything. Sure, all of these games in the collection are some of the greatest of all time, but these games are too old to be full priced.

    Not sure why this release is worth $60, it's just a ROM dump of three old games with very little changes. Fans have made better attempts at Mario 64 HD for free.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Mario 3D all - stars game is a bit of a disappointment. I downloaded it recent on my switch and booted up the game. I loaded into Super Mario 64 and immediately noticed the game didn’t fit the switch’s screen. The camera controls are a bit wacky, and whenever you collect a star or die, all of the red coins reset and you are booted out of the painting. Then I tried Super Mario Sunshine. I collected Fludd, and got to cleaning up the graffiti, I somehow could not fighter out how to beat the boss of the level, and the controls are super different to the original game. Then, reluctantly I booted up Super Mari Galaxy, and found the controls were wacky and you can’t skip cutscenes in ANY of the games. My favourite out of the 3 would be Super Mario 64. I give this game a 4/10, and don’t recommend buying it unless you have the money to spare. My advice: read reviews before you buy the game.… Expand

    My personal issue is that they didnt use the ntsc version of mario 64 and that I already have galaxy and sunshine and backwards compatible wii and wii u to play them on. Had they released the ntsc version instead of the shindou edition i might be singing a slightly different tune. It's a real shame that they also didnt include mario 64 ds mario 3d land or mario galaxy 2.     Really outdated, the camera controls in the first 2 games are terrible, and Sunshine is waaaay too twitchy. I remembered these games much better than they actually are. Edited to 2 after playing Hotel lobby's secret, what **** game design.

    Extremely lazy port of 3 old games for full price. Tried to justify this as a limited time release but every store has tons of them in stock. Way to play to fomo Nintendo. Overall not worth it as there are many ways to play these games for much cheaper than $90 CDN.

    Schlechter Switch port und zu wenig (gar keine Verbesserung) zu den Originalen. Habe die selben Fehler wie bei spielen vor 10-15 Jahren. Sunshine zum Beispiel war mit dem GC Controller besser spielbar. Dann auch noch 69 dafür zu verlangen ist einfach Frech. Ich bin ein Riesen Mario-Fan aber sowas ist einfach nur schlecht. Nintendo sollte sich schämen.

    The quality of this game is horrendous. It makes the Nintendo deal look like garbage with how the original of SM64 and SMS feel awkward. On top of that, SM64 bears the worst in how it's presented. With all this porting and emulation nonsense going on it feels crappy even purchasing it for being so unpolished.

    This while thing is daylight robbery and Nintendo made minor enhancements such as remade textures; purely to keep the visuals with the times... Additionally, if individual developers can do better than Nintendo them it's safe to say that they didn't care so that much in the first place. There's more than one reason why Nintendo had so many pirates. That's because though they may succeed the competition in some, they fail their consumers in the rest.

    Blindly praising the company without acknowledging the stunts they pull is ludicrous. Moreso, the purchase time-frame is a disgusting move on Nintendo's.    … Expand

The soundtracks do not add anything good to the collection, since all it does is play music from the three games in the background of the game's menu, and there is almost nothing to do in the game's menu, so its existence is only further devalued by Nintendo's laziness.
    They are emulated games with no significant changes. All there is to it is the previously mentioned upscaled resolution, probably a better framerate, music tracks, and the default Switch features. The controls are also not that good in Sunshine and Galaxy, but I will not go into why. I will say that SM64 for the first time can be played with a good controller, though, without being on an emulator, which is good. The games controls and camera are still miserably terrible, unfortunately.
    This would all be fine, if there was a proper price to go along with it. But it is sixty USD, and that is way above what it deserves to be. It is obvious Nintendo put almost no real effort into developing this game, yet they are still fine with charging it on full price for the sake of satisfying their hunger for money. Nintendo is far from the most greedy and lazy company out there, but from time to time they still stab their fans in the backs like this. I would also like to mention that for some reason I bought this game with a 10% lower price than I pay with all other full priced games. I live in Denmark, so I paid four-hundred-and-fifty danske kroner, even though it is supposed to be just as highly priced as all other major Nintendo Switch games. It is quite strange.
    I believe that fifteen or twenty USD would have been a fair price. Fifteen should have been the minimum, every game and soundtrack in the collection would make up five USD, which is a really good price considering their essentially just emulations that cost almost no money to produce. I would have been fine with it costing an extra five USD. Anything about twenty USD is ridiculous for this game, and that is why I regret buying this game.    … Expand

    Disgraceful. The Shindou edition of SM64 is a slap in the face. Sunshine has numerous bugs. Galaxy would be the only reason to buy this, and that's only because emulating it on PC can be difficult without a Wiimote. Do not purchase.

    No extra features(concept art, promotional videos, etc.)
    - Bad ports of 64 or Sunshine.
    - Bland menus.
    - No button mapping for any of the games.
    - 60-70$ price tag.
    - Limited release.

    A greedy price for bare bones emulation. Worst of all they have broken the camera and controls in Mario Sunshine making it borderline unplayable, and Gamecube controllers are not supported.

    First of all Nintendo of Europe ran out of physical copies and sent me a download version instead and refused to swap it later when they came back in stock or refund. (even though I cancelled the preorder 7 days before release).

    Where do I start? Well I was pretty excited when this was announced, being able to play some of the best modern classics on your switch is certainly great - especially upscaled and sometimes running at 60fps.
    However, I struggled to justify the AAA price tag so I decided not to get it. It later turns out there was no controller mapping and the games were lazy emulations. I later got the game for £30 which I find to be a much more suitable price. However due to the limited run this was pure luck for me and it's going to have it's value artificially inflated in April.     Es una gran oportunidad para catar por primera vez el sunshine, que es el menos vendido de los 3, o volver a jugarlo y disfrutarlo de nuevo. Es un juego con muchas capas de profundidad, es muy asequible para jugadores poco avezado peor que a la vez te permite muchas virguerias combinando saltos y el aquac, no llega al nivel del odyssey en ese sentido, pero el juego es superior al mario 64 y extremadamente superior al galaxy, cuyo único merito es el concepto (que no esta nada mal) pero que a nivel de gameplay y moveset es un hueco entre el sunshine y el 3d land, aunque el 2 esta muchisimo mas pulido en ese aspecto.

    Obviamente el sunshine tiene sus carencias, se nota que lo apresuraron para que fuera un juego de (casi) salida con la consola, tiene las mismas estrellas que el 64, pero solo tiene 7 pantallas, eso significa que hay 14 estrellas por pantalla, al final te pasas bastante tiempo por pantalla y un poco mas de variedad no hubiera venido mal, quitando las azules y distribuyendo un poco las estrellas se podría haber llegado a 10 pantallas y ya seria perfecto, pero seguramente no se pudo por tema costes/tiempo.

    Finalmente comentar que el gran mérito de esta colección es que ninguno de los 3 juegos se siente antiguo, de hecho el mas ortopedico de los 3 es el galaxy, por tener que usar controles por movimientos y que en el original apenas tenias control sobre la camara (derecha, izquierda y fp), aun así la cámara automática es bastante buena. En cuanto a sunshine, 19 años han pasado y en hd pasa, por calidad estética y control de la cámara, perfectamente como un juego de la actual generación, se ve realmente muy bien. Y simplemente que comentar del 64, 25 años que tiene esa mierda y lo juegas y dices, pues tiene algunos problemas con la cámara que se vuelve muy loca en puntos muy concretos, pero claro, estamos hablando de lo que es posiblemente el primer juego 3d con una cámara no estática o extremadamente limitada (siguiéndote en el mismo punto por detrás siempre o algo asi), no solo sigue siendo potable a dia de hoy, es de hecho mejor que muchos juegos que tienen control total, sentó catedra sobre como hacer camaras en juegos 3d y lo hicieron en el primer intento, esto para mi es lo mas increíble de mario 64 y lo que hace que sea un juego inmortal.    … Expand

    This collection is lots of fun to play because I used to play these three great games when I was just a kid. Amazing graphics, great controls. The only game that is missing is Super Mario Galaxy 2. I just hope that eventually this game will join this collection and make it even MORE grander. Definite recommend and a must have for both old fans and new fans alike.

    However, the compilation is very lacking and too expensive. Rare replay is an example of a good compilation.

Nintendo could have done more by doing less. Leaving backwards long jumping in the game wouldn't effect normal players, all it does is generate more anti-consumer product. I don't even use backwards long jump, but the fact that they removed that and left more important problems in the game just feels like they half-assed this release. Now, I'm not saying you wont have fun playing these games, because you definitely will because they are the best in their own genre. Nintendo could have done a hell of a lot more for 80 CAD.… Expand

    As much as I appreciate replaying these classic games, the compilation feels lazily put together. One of my main gripes is that Mario 64 is not widescreen. On a switch lite that means you are squinting at a tiny box in the middle of your screen. How can an unofficial port on PC be in 4K widescreen, whereas Nintendo themselves can't do it...laziness!

    The £50 price tag is not at all justified

    Eu entendo que o clássico foi um jogo legal pra época. Mais è ridículo a Nintendo não ter feito nada pra melhorar os controles desse jogo ou aperfeiçoar os gráficos. Jogo lixo e controles super frustrante. Se puder alugue antes de comprar. Sinto que joguei meu dinheiro fora.

    Solo diré que son 35 años de Mario, eso no poco. Mario se merecía algo mucho más grande que este pobre pack que nos trae Nintendo.
    Incluso el diseño de su portada no es acorde con nada. Deberían al menos haber añadido una caja metálica o Mario Galaxy 2, que es inexplicable porque no lo agregaron.

    These Games did deserve better. Nintendo did the minimum they had to do to port them to the Switch. They could have at least tried to remaster them. And worst of all, it will be deleted from the eShop in March 2021. Why? This is the opposite of consumer-friendly.

    ROMs a 60$ y sin mejoras de ningún tipo, abuso total. No me vengan con que Nintendo no puede lucrar de sus juegos, ellos tienen todo el derecho, pero tienen que ser consientes que son juegos de hace muchos años. Luego que los nintenderos no se quejen que lo único que les dan son humo y refritos si es que apoyan estas prácticas abusivas.

    I bought this collection mostly to play Super Mario Galaxy as I've had a lot of fond memories playing the original Wii version many years ago. But they just had to screw up the motion controls, it constantly goes off sync as I'm playing and it's so distracting (maybe it's just me, but it really does love to go off    I bought this game digitally on day one, and what a waste of 60 dollars.

    I bought this collection mostly to play Super Mario Galaxy as I've had a lot of fond memories playing the original Wii version many years ago. But they just had to screw up the motion controls, it constantly goes off sync as I'm playing and it's so distracting (maybe it's just me, but it really does love to go off sync sometimes). Playing Mario Galaxy on 3D All-Stars with a Pro Controller felt kind of "off" to me. I even tried using joycons instead but even using those is a bit off for me too. Especially since joycons can easily break, but the good thing is I can just go get them repaired if that were to happen. This is also the collection that introduced me to Super Mario Sunshine, and man were the controls just really weird in general. Then there was Super Mario 64, I feel a bit mixed with 64. I played the original on the Nintendo 64, and it felt good to play with an N64 controller. But just like with Galaxy and Sunshine, playing this cult classic with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller also felt a little off. I do wish they gave the option to bind the controls to different buttons to make it easier to play these games. They could've also updated the graphics of the games, included Galaxy 2. This collection could've been so much better. But it has a few problems that ruins the experience for me.    … Expand

    These 3 are easily some of my favourite games of all time, but the fact that with the exception of Galaxy the other games use some nasty emulators that don't even hand a candle to the originals in terms on controls on Sunshine and visuals on 64 (Why are those borders even here?) shows how lazy of a collection it is, what a shame.

    This could have been fantastic, but then they ruined the control scheme and offer no way to change it in game. Normally this wouldn't kill a game for me, but considering it is a release of 3 Critically Acclaimed games for modern hardware, this causes problems.

    A very obvious and lazy cash grab. Nintendo fans are to blame, Nintendo only saw an oppurtunity for fast money and took it. Next time don't cry tears of joy when someone recycles 3 old games.

    Pagas no demasiado para ser un emulador de room's un simple copia y pega. Nintendo fue listo porque les da a todos los nintenfermos en la nostalgia y ahí andan diciendo cuánta incuerencia con tal de defenderlo. Halo TMCC hizo lo impensable con un remaster único. Los nintenfermos dicen que bueno que está así sin remasterizar porque nos da en la nostalgia. Es justo como lo recordamos esPagas no demasiado para ser un emulador de room's un simple copia y pega.     One point for each game. This is such a lazy cash grab. There are 4k 60fps versions of Mario 64 in 16:9 and Nintendo gives us 720 30fps and 4:3 for an ANNIVERSARY edition game. People are starting to look at Nintendo differently and before it gets out of control they need to stop being so lazy.

    No widescreen for Mario 64. No way to turn off rumble. No way to disable inverted camera controls. Sunshine only runs at 30fps. No way to opt out of motion control in Galaxy. And they charge $60 for this? It's just three emulators... The games needed 2020 treatment..

    The classic games have been ported over to the Nintendo Switch with upscaled graphics. The old controls feel clunky compared to modern gaming standards, but if you already love these games, this makes for a great purchase.
