    This game adds a lot to the franchise and launch it was played by connection issues that it became a running joke however those have mostly been fixed. Mean it’s made by Nintendo who’s online is laughable the fact that it’s working as well as it is is a testament. If you like the other games in the franchises this is the most buy

    This game is absolutely the best splatoon game. It has the most modes and the best versions of them. It has the best single player campaign. The online is also the best in this game. The new additions to game play are great however my one big problem is that there are no new online modes. However this did allow us to avoid getting a terrible new mode. Also they should have just removed clam blitz

    An incredibly fun and still unique project, the formula of which no one has been able to copy, therefore, not very big changes for the triquel do not even feel like a minus for me personally.

    Amazing hit. Nintendo really doesn't do online well, but Splatoon 3 has been a huge step for them as a company. The ability to smoothly squad up with your friends and details like lockers, practice range while matchmaking, and seeing ghosts of your friends make this such a great experience. All of the Nintendo charm with none of the Nintendo disappointment. No mixed feeling about his gameAmazing hit.     One of the very worst games to have ever graced this horrid Earth. Do not get it. It is beyond overrated and does nothing to improve the series or its gameplay, it's the same old shtick again, and somehow it sells like hot cakes...

Sin embargo, el contenido de lanzamiento es escaso e incluso se podrían haber lucido migrando todos los mapas, armas, ropas de los anteriores juegos y contenido exclusivo de Japon. Lo cual hubiera presentado un juego mas robusto y justificado su valor de USD 60.

    I think most people will agree with me Splatoon 3 is a game worth playing. It’s unique, fun gameplay is appropriate for younger users yet still has action - not to mention the great graphics, fun background story, captivating gameplay and vast world to explore! New weapons, gear and the Salmon Run mode creates the successor of Splatoon 2.

    I think the controls in this series get better and better with each entry. I personally never really experience any of the connection issues a lot of others have apparently. The single player mode is still a blast and I am still in love with the actual multiplayer mode as I was back on the WiiU. The only reason I am not ranking this higher is just that I think the game balance dropped, II think the controls in this series get better and better with each entry.     The only thing that is holding the game back are the multiplayer servers, or lack thereof. Yes, this is a game with paid online experience, and yet the multiplayer gameplay is handled on P2P connection. On a good day, you might get disconnected once every 10 or more games, but sometimes it's hard to get a single match without a network error. I REALLY hope Nintendo brings official servers because I honestly think this might be a 10/10 game.    … Expand

    I actually really enjoy the game! It may not have all the content from 2 and 1 from the start (Which is kind of stupid), but splatoon 3 kept me playing every single day.     My Shooter for 2022. This game is a great pick up for a fun and carefree gameplay. Quick games with great weapon and map variety. The single player is a good way to improve skills with a lite story mixed in. I have been playing since the Wii U and Splatoon 1. See you at the next Splatfest!

    This game is so much better than the previous one, so many QoL fixes and other changes that make it worth buying. They're going to update the game for 2 years and dlc, so there will be always something to look forward too. Despite some minor bugs and server problems I love how fun and addicting this game is.

    I wrote an entire 3000 character review and Metacritic's engine keeps 404ing whenever I try to post it. The game is balanced poorly, has rarely functioning netcode, awful controls, and refuses to adapt or implement any modern philosophies of game design, leading to an overall poor game experience. You're better off playing any other PvP game.

    I regret spending 60€ on Splatoon 3, this is the least fun and at the same time the most frustrating game I've ever played.

    The biggest issue for me lies in the way the game matches you against other players, there's no MMR or other form of matchmaking system at all; some matches are just unwinnable, it doesn't matter what rank you're in, you'll get matched with and against all kind of    I regret spending 60€ on Splatoon 3, this is the least fun and at the same time the most frustrating game I've ever played.

    The biggest issue for me lies in the way the game matches you against other players, there's no MMR or other form of matchmaking system at all; some matches are just unwinnable, it doesn't matter what rank you're in, you'll get matched with and against all kind of players. Splatoon 3 doesn't take into account what weapons the players are using, which sometimes results in a team composed of 4 chargers (sniper rifles) matched against a balanced team with a good mix of long and short range weapons, making the match completely one-sided.

    Splatoon 3 is NOT a casual videogame, If you're thinking about buying this for your kids I'll let you know it is not for everyone. Splatoon 3 is an extremely sweaty third-person shooter with a huge learning curve, meaning new players will lose A LOT trying to learn the mechanics of the game.

    Losing feels awful, if you're unlucky enough to end up in an uneven match you'll either completely aniihilate the opposing team or get brutally stomped with the rest of your teammates and even though it is no longer possible to get spawn killed in this game, compared to its predecessor, you still won't be able to do much when losing. If you're in the losing team you basically don't get to play the game and it feels incredibly frustrating. Turf war matches only last 3 minutes, and yet it is still possible to die over 10 times in a single match or get over 20 kills, simply because maps are really small and you're pretty much forced to confront your opponent.
    Almost every single map in the game is terribly designed, the maps feel too small with not enough space to maneuver around, meaning flanking enemy players is really hard.

    The game is hopelessly unbalanced. There are over 50 weapons so it only makes sense that some of them are considered useless, not to mention every weapon in the game has a predetermined kit that you cannot change, so even if you find a main weapon that you like you might not like the special weapon or the sub weapon it comes with.

    Splatoon 3 also has some really bad connection issues, I suggest not to buy this game if you don't have a stable internet connection. Although I didn't experience this myself, I heard many players complain that they're getting disconnected in the middle of a match as a result of those issues.

    Now, not everything about the game is terrible; the single-player campaign is fairly decent and the co-op pve horde mode (Salmon Run) can actually be fun, even if hard at times.

    I felt like I HAD to leave a bad review of this game, just to warn others about what they might experience playing Splatoon 3. Hopefully it has been helpful for somebody to read this review.    … Expand

    While it improves off of many aspects of its predecessors, it doesn't change all too much from its original formula to make it a super great sequel. That being said, this is still a high quality game that isn't much like any other shooter out there. Loved the previous entries, and this one is the best yet.     If you're new to the series you'll probably enjoy more than someone who's played the previous games that might feel slightly ripped off for what feels like a $60 update

    For me it has the best shooting game (?) experience with a controller. The combat design is no like others and extremely friendly to people like me who have little experience play fps or tps with controller.

    However there might not be enough content to keep players to stay for a long time. Updates are only few new maps and splatfests that is not as fun as I once imaged.

Really building off the lore of the world and characters I actually found myself really interested in the plot as I progressed through really fun levels that did a great job showing off weapons and ultimates.     Its not a bad game but I was expecting more and I wanted this game to be the best of the trilogy but its just an upgraded version of Splatoon 2 with a LOT of Connection Errors and I wanted to like the story mode but it kinda disappointed me and the ending is overhyped by fans, not saying its bad, again, but Octo Expansion was way better even if the final fight wasn’t that good. (LittleIts not a bad game but I was expecting more and I wanted this game to be the best of the trilogy but its just an upgraded version of Splatoon 2 with a LOT of Connection Errors and I wanted to like the story mode but it kinda disappointed me and the ending is overhyped by fans, not saying its bad, again, but Octo Expansion was way better even if the final fight wasn’t that good. (Little Buddy is overrated tho)

    The singleplayer is pretty much worth it alone. The multiplayer is also a ton of fun, when it works. The game is plagued with bad servers and connection issues.

The servers are... bad. The servers are acceptable now, but at launch, they were not. The meta is leagues better than splatoons 1 and 2, but that's not much of an accomplishment. That leaves us with 6 good stages, which is not a good number for a shooter game. Let's just hope the post-launch stage reworks make the stages good.
    The Improvements made over splatoon 2 are massive, but sadly it took the series 3 entries to catch up to other shooters in terms of content. Still love this game to death though, and when it gets good stages it will become a 10/10 game    … Expand

I never have connection issues in other MMO, but I would venture 40% of games either do not begin or end abruptly in the middle as a result of the horrible servers being deployed on this game.

This made the game feel boring, and unnecessary, which is weird because Splatoon 2 already existed. Salmon Run has interesting bosses, but the rest of the mode fails to live up toSplatoon 3 is just like Splatoon 1, in the worst way possible. Starting it up I need to grind levels to have access to most weapons and modes that made the first game enjoyable, but with less interesting maps. The story mode is as pointless as ever, with an almost interesting overworld and some good puzzles, but no exploration or fun like you might get in a Zelda temple or a Mario Odyssey level.     Decent enough game. Once the novelty of Splatoon 3 being a new installment in the series rubs off, it really just feels like more of the same. Some nice QOL upgrades move this from a 4-5 to a 6 for me. Playing with friends is much easier and Clam Blitz doesn't dominate rotations (although there are rotations still, unfortunately) scored at a 6 because honestly, I'm bored already.     I just play multiplayer pvp for this game. it is good with many game modes. However, the connection issue and communication issue happen to frequently. When this happen to other person in a game with you, that game will be immediately terminated and all players return to lobby.     Poor Matchmaking. I get disconnected by Nintendo's faulty P2P servers. The worst part is that I get temporary banned from online play. Before the last patch I got Disconnected in the post match results and I still would get banned from online play and, if I'm in a ranked match, the communication error count as a loss.     Matchmaking is still garbage. Connection issues are worse now. Lockers are garbage cause your friends are not the ones near yours, just random peoples...who cares then?! Half the maps are still garbage. Oh, and there are fewer of them as well. Ranked modes are still garbage, nothing new.

    You are still forced to play the maps Nintendo wants you too. So you can log in and see the levels and modes are garbage and just immediately turn the game back off. Great design Nintendo. Real winners. How are you so stupid? Like how? How is it possible for game designers to be this idiotic?

    80 hours + first time playing a Splatoon game. The fun is real. The rage is real. No complaints overall.. story is acceptable. Salmon Run is cool. Multiplayer is fun. A lot to enjoy with this Nintendo title.

    Splatoon 3 is a pretty fun experience. The difficulty curve is easy to learn, difficult to master. Matchmaking is simple and easy, and waiting in the lobby is so much better this time around as well. Turf War makes its return as the main attraction.     Splatoon 3 is just a really fun game. It's easy to just pick up, hop in a match, and try your best to ink as much area as you can while trying not to get splatted too much. While it can be a little overwhelming for completely new players to the game (some players just completely obliterate your team), keep playing enough and you'll easily get the hang of everything.     You are paying full game price for a DLC to Splatoon 2. If this wasn't Nintendo the user score would be like a 1. Yes, Splatoon is fun but paying full price for what could have been an update is crazy. This will be the last Splatoon game I own. Nintendo is just getting greedy now. I have been playing since the Wii U and my disappointment is immeasurable.

    Yes, there may not be TOO much new content, but the content that is currently available is worthy of at least a 9. Also, Nintendo likes to do these updates that add a ton of stuff to the game, so the current version is around 10% of what the game will be in a few years

    It's mainly a multiplayer game that allows you to play 30-50% of the time you attempt to play. Not kidding when I say I've been disconnected mid-game or after 2min of queue waiting hundreds of times. Nintendo should do some QA before release next time. Avoid!

From all the trailers and pre-release materials, it just seemed like more of the same, without much changed. After playing Splatoon 3 for some time, I can say that while this initial assessment was mostly correct, the game does have more to offer than I might have expected.

After playing Splatoon 3 for some time, I can say that while this initial assessment was mostly correct, the game does have more to offer than I might have expected.

    The core gameplay feels just about identical to 2, which is a bit disappointing, but then again too much change could've compromised the series' identity. I found myself getting tired pretty early on of the online battle stages, as not enough has changed from 2, or even 1, for it too feel all that new; this gameplay style is starting to get a little bit stale.

    Fortunately, some of the extra modes are much more compelling, and made my purchase of this title feel justified. The single-player campaign is quite the improvement from previous versions, clearly some inspiration has been taken from 2's DLC Octo Expansion. It feels more substantial, and makes some interesting story choices. There is a lack of bosses, and it might've been nice to have more new enemy types.

    Apart from that, there's a new customizable locker, a card game, a more expansive hub area, and the ability to skip the intro-video. One of the greatest improvements are those made to Salmon Run; I like being able to play it whenever I want, and I enjoy the new bosses and enemies.

    I'm not a big fan of the new three team Splatfest format, it seems to be pretty poorly balanced, and the tri-battles seem like an under-baked idea which aren't well implemented.

    Splatoon 3 is the most fully featured entry so far, but it does feel like it could've done much more to differentiate itself from it's predecessor, especially when it's being released on the same system.    … Expand

    It is impossible to ignore the breadth of quality-of-life changes they've made to the game. Listing them all would take too much time, but a few important ones are the new matchmaking freedoms (being able to actually do something while looking for a game), and many more.
    Buy and large, it's more Splatoon. It's better than 2, by far, and that's all there is to it. It's most definitely on-par with the first.    … Expand

The result is a much more polished and less gimmicky splatoon.     The only thing the games sucks is optimization and internet. Other than that, it's such a great game. If those issues are gone, it'll be 9/10. The only thing that misses is the apocalyptic world isn't as greatly executed.

    3 fixed every issues in 2. Playing splatoon is just pure fun. The ultrastamp seems to be nerfed though, my old strategy which usually wipes the opposite team doesn’t work any more.

    Story mode is barely ok, some stages are stupidly easy, other ones are stupidly hard, or you get killed or fall in a trap right before the end of the stage.

    Game designer behind this must be fired and never hired again for this job,
    when you can't make a balanced difficulty, can't scale battles with players of the same level, and have fun creating frustrating traps and bad stages, you're not good for this job.

    A good game is suposed to be fun, not punishing the player for being new in battle mode, for reaching the end of a stage in story mode, and for leveling up in co-op mode.

    Splatoon 3 feels like a fast game with bad game design made only for taking money because the other preceding games worked.    … Expand

    This was practically my first Splatoon experience. I never played the original Wii U Splatoon and had only played a very limited amount of Splatoon 2. The story mode is fine, it’s about what you would expect. The core game itself is also just good. It’s not a must buy Nintendo Switch game but it is worth checking out if you have either never played Splatoon before or are a long time fan.

    I was one of the victims of rage inducing competitive games such as LoL and Overwatch. Splatoon has never made me feel anything other than joy.
    This is the best Splatoon you can play until Splatoon 4 came out.
    *Petition to mute all reviewers until they beat After Alterna. Play with gyro like they intended instead of complaining about how much you lost in rank in your reviews.

    The worst netcode I ever witnessed. Expect to have a disconnects or at least lags in every second match you play regardless of your own stable internet connection. Can't recommend unless they somehow fix that.

    Also match making on the splatfests is very unfair. Each time, teams of friends are allowed to match against individuals. This means they are organised and are talking to each other about strategy. I must have lost 30 matches in a row despite being quite good at Splatoon 2. To all the people who are giving bad reviews, your right. Splatoon 3 didn’t totally reinvent the franchise, but name one sequel that does, I’m waiting. The story mode is just 100x better with an actual story that’s interesting, and finally reveals all of the game’s lore, with fighting the ending boss in space on a rocket ship! You can’t tell me that’s not cool. Multiplayer has significant changes as well, with new movement options, specials, weapons, replay system, matchmaking system, ranking system, UI and much more. Splatoon 3 overall is just a fantastic, addictive game and is a straight up perfect sequel to Splatoon 2. And i’m sure that Splatoon 4 will reinvent the series, just you wait.… Expand

    I just i hate this game, just started playing, and can't do **** I get splatter like all the time and can't even do anything... No matchmaking what so ever...

    How can 3 ruin what was already a great game? Remove weapons, specials, maps, replace hosts with hideous-looking characters, change the music with Bolywood crap and you get Splat3. The game also has continued interruption with connection errors that makes this game nearly unplayable. Why change an already great game and ruin it? Beats me. But this game should've been an addition, DLC, notHow can 3 ruin what was already a great game?     Splatoon's core mechanics aren't really fun or satisfying,story campaing is 70% dogwater,but 30% of the levels are actually somewhat fun
    Music and aesthetics are good just like in all splatoon games

    It's still a mix of platformer and shooter, but some missions are focused on combat, figuring out ways to advance, surviving in a diabolical arena, painting giant statues, sneaking around, finding keys, and even using your weird sidekick to activate and deactivate various mechanisms.     Splatoon 3 takes everything the previous games did and makes it better in pretty much every conceivable way. More fluid, more dynamic, with a more balanced gameplay and a very welcome enlarged one-player dimension, Splatoon 3 is all that could be expected from the third chapter in the series, where the improvements fit neatly with the Splatoon legacy.

    Splatoon 3 went live in September, and ever since it launched I've had to will myself to stay away from it. I'm a grown man with a family! I've got a lot of responsibilities!
