Good game for people who looking games similar with old Zelda with roguelike elements. For me is much much better than Moonlighter.

I had been eyeballing this game since it was first announced and waited in anticipation for its release only for it to not meet my expectations.

    Pros:
Great animation style and controls, the music is fantastic, the patch system is a unique and fresh take on stats upgrades, the gadget builder is a fun idea, and thats where the positives end.

    Cons:
The game is VERY repetitive, the story is weak, character development wasn't really there, the enemies are easy, and the game is shooooooort!

The game's biggest shortfall is the rogue-like elements. Because of how small the map is, the constant reshuffling of the map every time you die or end a run became very mundane and did nothing to excite me. I quickly got bored and just wanted to finish the game so that I could move on. This game had so much potential to be something great and it fell flat in my eyes. It was a huge disappointment after all the waiting that I did.

Sparklite is a colourful rogue-like that yearns for the pixel-based games on the original NES. By removing most of the challenges generally found in rogue-likes, this puts itself at the top of the list for newcomers who want to dip their toes into the water. Aged fans of the genre won't find any surprises or challenges here, and the lack of a real contest or a risk-versus-reward system can be a turn off. Ada's journey can be a short one, as it can be completed in less than five hours, and it provides enjoyment due to an addictive gameplay loop, catchy music, and the ability to relive the pixelated days of old.

With its rich, colourful and varied world, an exquisite soundtrack and a slick gameplay, Sparklite is loaded with charming elements that will keep players exploring its world and its mechanics for long hours.

Sparklite's loop can be rewarding, but not when it's extended beyond its means.
