Nov 17, 2020Going in it seemed like this was just going to be Sniper Elite 3 again but Sniper Elite 4 blows that game out of the water. It's such a complete package and one that feels so at home in portable mode that the absolute quality shining off this port easily puts it at the top of the war games available on the platform. Further highlighting developer Rebellion's fantastic work on the Nintendo Switch platform. Opening up the series to a completely new group of gamers who will hopefully love the brutal sniping action they have so sumptuously crafted. Don't sleep on this game.

Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 is a joy to play. Even as we approach four years of the Switch, it has been under-represented in terms of realistic World War II-focused shooters. This satisfies that itch and then some. When levels are over an hour long but you never get bored, that’s a marvel.
-
Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 is a superb adaptation, capable of shrinking Karl Fairburne's Italian adventure into a pocket size while keeping the strengths of the original game intact. If you already played Sniper Elite 4 three years ago and aren’t itching to replay it in a portable format, your savings would be better spent elsewhere, given the absence of exclusive content.

Jan 4, 2021Sniper Elite 4 takes the foundation laid out by the franchise's prior entries and elevates it to new heights. Larger open levels and multi-mode items provide more freedom to tackle missions as you see fit, allowing for the sniping components of the game to really shine. However, unless you can play with friends, you might have a hard time finding a match for multiplayer. Despite this, Sniper Elite 4 is still a fantastic experience that fans of shooters won't want to miss.

Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 takes its perch as the marquee, non-arcade sniping title on the market. Through its strategic gameplay, disgustingly explosive kill cutscenes, and jam-packed sandboxes, Sniper Elite 4 satiates the need for a World War II shooter, while not getting dragged down by the norms of the genre. Even with some technical hiccups and a less-than-likable protagonist, Sniper Elite 4 achieves, takes aim, hits its mark, and then some.

Nov 18, 2020Bottomline, Sniper Elite 4 on Switch is nearly four years late to the party, but better late than never. It’s regrettable that all of the DLC wasn’t included and that this release was not given the Ultimate version treatment, but, for snipe-hungry Switch players, this is still an excellent game that’s well worth your consideration.

Nov 18, 2020Sniper Elite 4 performs well overall on the Nintendo Switch and provides an opportunity to play the game on the go. There are no noticeable technical issues, and shooting enemy soldiers with perfectly-placed lung shots is still enjoyable. The Joy-Cons are not ideal for lining up each shot due to the twitchy nature, but they don’t hold back an overly enjoyable experience.
-
Nov 18, 2020Another incredibly impressive port, Sniper Elite 4 hides the cutbacks that have been needed to squeeze the game onto Nintendo Switch very well. I'd love to see more finesse to the motion controls, and the DLC pricing does feel a bit dear at this point, but Rebellion have outdone themselves with this effort.

Nov 17, 2020If you enjoyed the previous Sniper Elite games, this one is a no-brainer. Sniper Elite 4 carries forward all of the strengths of the previous games and adds in a number of improvements, making for one of the finest stealth action experiences you can get on the Nintendo Switch. Admittedly, there aren’t a whole lot of traditional stealth games on the system, but I think that even if there were this would still be worth checking out. The only real miss is in its rather bland story, but the little stories of your own that you make as you play compensate for it. Overall, an enjoyable experience of the type and quality we don’t see often on the platform.

Nov 17, 2020Sniper Elite 4 is the best entry yet in this long-running franchise with great big meaty missions stuffed to bursting point with Nazis to snipe and stab in glorious slo-mo X-ray vision. There's a new-found flexibility to the gameplay, with Karl now able to shimmy and scurry vertically around levels and enemy AI that's much more up to the task than in previous iterations. There may be some slightly rough edges, with duff writing, naff characters and gameplay that doesn't change much from start to finish but, overall, this is playful sniper's paradise that lands on Switch in a truly impressive port. It's time to dust off that M1903 Springfield, find a nice vantage point and get to blowing great big bloody holes in fascist heads. The perfect antidote to 2020.

Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 is a remarkable tactical shooter that knows how to bring spectacularity with its shots and an outstanding sound section, all with many hours of content to enjoy. It has some aspects to improve, such as some graphic textures and the AI of the enemies, but it is a highly recommended game if you like the genre.

Nov 19, 2020If you’re a fan of the Sniper Elite franchise, Sniper Elite 4 on Nintendo Switch is definitely worth checking out. It’s a new campaign in the series with necessary improvements from the last installment, while fans from other platforms can enjoy their favorite Sniper Elite Italian campaign from the comfort of their bed or on their commute to work. Sniper Elite 4 brings snipers into new locations featuring ruined castles, bayside watchtowers, vast orchards, underground tunnels, occupied cities, and far more.

Dec 14, 2020Overall Sniper Elite 4 for the Nintendo Switch is a very competent port, it is great seeing these bigger games ported to this console and I hope we see more of it in the future. Whilst the game is better in the docked mode, the handheld mode is still playable and is good for people who want that fix on the go.

Nov 20, 2020With expansive sandbox levels, some thrilling stealth action, and (of course) those magnificent X-ray kill cam shots it’s easy to see why this fourth iteration of Rebellion’s popular series is generally considered the most well rounded. With that being said, the seams are beginning to show this long after the original release, and while the Switch manages to pull off the action behind the scope exactly the way you’d expect, your mileage with the middle of the road visuals and mostly bland story may vary.
-
Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 works fine on Nintendo Switch, with a stable frame rate and nice graphics when it comes to landmarks. The campaign can be completed a little too quickly, but gives you a lot of freedom thanks to the open maps.
-
Nov 30, 2020The third-person aiming is clunky and I found myself preferring to hide, rather than taking on soldiers face-to-face. Much of the campaign can be completed solely by sniping enemies from afar, but there are a few parts where close combat becomes a necessity. I was always pleased when these sections were over quickly. My only other complaint about Sniper Elite 4 is that it’s not a complete package. Three years after initial release, the Switch version arrives with numerous DLC options that require additional purchase – none of which appear to be new content. I’m not completely against DLC, but it feels like players are being nickel-and-dimed here. Fortunately, the core experience is enjoyable enough to look past these minor shortcomings, and more often than not, Sniper Elite 4 hits the bullseye.
-
Nov 17, 2020Beyond a technical sector with some obvious compromises and not always up to par, the hybrid version of Sniper Elite 4 runs without problems both in docked mode and "on the go". We therefore recommend Sniper Elite 4 to those who have never been able to play it at the time and to those who want to try the experience of the title in portability.
-
Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 for Nintendo Switch is a good porting of the original game published in 2017.
-
Nov 16, 2020Sniper Elite 4 manages to offer a unique approach to shooter games, thanks to its deep and articulated sniping mechanics. Yet, the release on Switch doesn't even try to hide its age and feels shallow and forgettable. If you love this kind of game, probably Switch isn't the best choice where to play it.
