    Slipstream is a super cool game that resembles a golden era in the gaming industry. The game indeed has a few issues, but its charming visual style, simplified gameplay and above-average challenge will captivate the racing genre fans and those who want to try something inclined to the nostalgic side of things.

    This is a very well-made game that is fun to play in short bursts. The range of game modes on offer is pretty impressive, although the menus to navigate through all this a a bit dull. I've given this a 7 instead of an 8 because I moved on from this game pretty quickly and I'm not sure if I'll come back to it. Slipstream is certainly worth picking up on sale if you enjoy arcade-style racers.

    "Slipstream is basically the new Outrun game that you never knew you wanted. With its 80s visuals and soundtrack and a myriad of game modes, there’s plenty here to keep all skill levels busy. The cheap price is the icing on the cake to what is already an excellent racing game."

    Love the soundtrack and concept. Hoping for more updates, a sequel perhaps?. For 9.99 it worth it if you enjoy retro.

    Slipstream may not be perfect, but it was clearly made with a specific vision and a ton of love. There are plenty of other options out there for sure, but if you're really into drifting and retro racers, you may get better mileage here than most. [Issue #60 – July/August 2022, p. 24]

    While simple at first, Slipstream's gameplay becomes more complex and addictive as the game goes on, and the variety of game modes and effects, as well as its marvelous visual environment make this game a fabulous choice for those seeking some retro-inspired driving fun, which could have been even better if it featured an online multiplayer experience.

    The action is fast, the controls are responsive, and there’s a huge amount of content to get through – especially considering the reasonable price-point. If you’ve already exhausted the Switch’s premium retro racers then Slipstream is well worth a runaround.
