The Original Shovel Knight is the perfect Game. Dig is Great and Plays very Similar except when you die you start at the very beginning and never truly feel a sense of progression. I know they wanted this to be a Rogue like but you know what?, Many don't like they me included. I wish the Rogue element could have been al separate game mode because I hate it. Hope whe get a true sequel toThe Original Shovel Knight is the perfect Game. Although for our money it’s not as engrossing or as immediately entertaining as Shovel Knight’s usual adventures this is still a well put together title that has very few faults when viewed purely as a roguelite.

It's safe to recommend Shovel Knight Dig to all 2D action-adventure fans. The dialed-up art and bottomless pit of treasures are a perfect metaphor for Shovel Knight's "indie upstart to enduring superstar" career path. [Issue #62 – November/December 2022, p. 19]

Shovel Knight Dig is different enough to step away from the franchise's original proposal and similar in the right measure to be a game that homages and lives up to its name. The result is an absolutely brilliant game.
