    Everything is good in Shovel Knight Dig, from the amazing graphics and music to the core game loop, although you can't expect anything else from the Yacht Club Games. The only negative that I can find the game is a bit short and there is not so much content in it yet, but this is the "disease" of all roguelikes at the start of their lives. I hope YCG has place for a DLC kit for SKD inEverything is good in Shovel Knight Dig, from the amazing graphics and music to the core game loop, although you can't expect anything else from the Yacht Club Games.     Well made roguelike/platformer, best in 2022.
    Nitrome created beautiful pixelart when the Yacht Club Games made interesting gameplay with different mechanics based on shovel jump, jump on enemies and on-time-digging. Every stage consist different enemies and difficulties such as bombs, spikes, bubbles, flames, etc. Random arenas in boss fights create individual gameplay situations, as a    Well made roguelike/platformer, best in 2022.

    An enjoyable rouge-like from Nitrome and Yacht Club Games. It features beautiful pixel art, catchy chiptune music, snappy gameplay, and a decent amount of content. I wouldn't call Shovel Knight Dig the gold standard of the rouge-like genre, but it does offer a fun Shovel Knight spin on the format; a combination which works extremely well.

    Hollow Knight Dig is a great designed and well made game, but I believe they should stay to 2D platforming adventure. I love roguelike games, but this game misses a lot of elements of an original roguelike. I prefered the other games personally, but it's still a great experience.

    The Original Shovel Knight is the perfect Game. Dig is Great and Plays very Similar except when you die you start at the very beginning and never truly feel a sense of progression. I know they wanted this to be a Rogue like but you know what?, Many don't like they me included. I wish the Rogue element could have been al separate game mode because I hate it. Hope whe get a true sequel toThe Original Shovel Knight is the perfect Game.     Shovel knight dig is a game I really enjoyed playing for short periods at a time. The structure of the game makes for a great pick up and play experience, but I think it lacks that “one more run feel” other popular roguelites have nailed down.

    The design of the npcs enemies and bosses, alongside the music and levels, has the expected shovel knight charm, and in my opinion the jump to    Shovel knight dig is a game I really enjoyed playing for short periods at a time. The structure of the game makes for a great pick up and play experience, but I think it lacks that “one more run feel” other popular roguelites have nailed down.

    The design of the npcs enemies and bosses, alongside the music and levels, has the expected shovel knight charm, and in my opinion the jump to the 16-bit artstyle gives just enough additional detail to confidently set Dig above the original game in this category

    I don’t know if this game will have the staying power of similar games or even other shovel knight games, but I did enjoy my time with it. The arcadey fun of shovel knight dig justifies its existence but I was really hoping for just a bit more to hold me longer.    … Expand

    Although for our money it’s not as engrossing or as immediately entertaining as Shovel Knight’s usual adventures this is still a well put together title that has very few faults when viewed purely as a roguelite.

    It's safe to recommend Shovel Knight Dig to all 2D action-adventure fans. The dialed-up art and bottomless pit of treasures are a perfect metaphor for Shovel Knight's "indie upstart to enduring superstar" career path. [Issue #62 – November/December 2022, p. 19]

    Shovel Knight Dig is different enough to step away from the franchise's original proposal and similar in the right measure to be a game that homages and lives up to its name. The result is an absolutely brilliant game.
