On a platform that already has a pretty solid fighting game lineup, Shadow Fight 2 is a pleasant surprise. The fighting system is different from most games, but if you can deal with its slower flow, you'll find some fun here. The presentation is muted in places but still interesting, and even though some parts of the campaign can feel like a slog, you'll get your money's worth. Shadow Fight 2 won't be your main squeeze, but it can be a good cooldown offering to play between some other fighting games.

Thanks to its art style and original gameplay mechanics, Shadow Fight 2 has assets that allow it to stand out amidst its competitors, even if its audio component and story mode are disappointing.

Shadow Fight 2 is a solid game at its core and some might be able to dig through, or even appreciate, the flaws around it to really enjoy everything it does well. Unfortunately, I don’t think the majority will have the necessary patience.

Shadow Fight 2 offers its players a variety of characters and stages to choose from, but an abysmal gameplay experience overall. With poor hit detection, a flawed combat system and a highly-frustrating, grind-heavy campaign, it has limited appeal beyond its mobile origins. My advice? Stick to other fighting games.

The AI is designed to steal your quarters probably more frustrating than MKIII. I had finished this game on the mobile few years back and decided to play on the switch. The only thing I can say is "Don't even start". While new grinding mechanics were applied for the switch the AI just bluntly Cheats.... Yes it CHEATS, just like Shadow Fight 3 and here are some very ridiculous ways of how it cheats.

    1. Hit recovery and movement of AI. When the AI feels like, it can have 10 times faster hit recovery especially on boss fights. It can get knocked down and getup and strike you back faster than you can link your 2nd strike.

    2. You cannot hit the AI when it feel like it. So when you start to do a combo on the AI, it will just get knocked down and apply the cheapness in Step 1 or you will see your attack go right through them.

    3. Stun, heal, life steal etc.. This all works against you. I mean imagine something have 2 times more HP than you that can, combo you when it has a stun icon and do a few more moves before the stun kicks in. When you finally get it down to a lower HP it will either hit you once and steal its HP back, or start recovering HP from a skill or pull a magic move out of no where or start moving so fast that you can't even get a hit in. The one I personally hate the most is messing with your inputs. Yes, the game will sometimes not take your commands, like jumping to avoid something, while tapping way ahead of time you just stand there and take the 2 x time damaging hit from your opponent while they heal back to full HP under a stun which leaves you at 1 HP and ponder why you are still playing this game.

This is the same reason why I refuse to buy anything from these game devs...
