Severed is a fantastic game and is a must buy on both Switch and the Vita. Its combat is complexed but fun to play. The art style is fantastic and the touch-screen mechanic was refreshing for me.

The worst game I have on the switch. Never regretted so much to buy a game, even if it was on sale. It is not worth 9 eur. If it was 2 eur maybe. It is a peculiar game, I guess, but walking around is awful with all the breaks from square to square or whatever that can be called. And then it's just a pain to play. Not good for your wrists. Visually it's boring and always the same. It is my first review here, this game made me register just to say how bad it is and that it is not worth the money nor time. The good thing, I will review other games, and I always like the games I buy. But not this one. I don't buy many. Maybe I am really not that much into touch controls. In the same way I didn't like the Wii and the waggling, and I only did it for 5 min I think... Big Nintendo fan and that didn't convince me. Also I like Nintendo because they make refined games. Why they allow so much crap on the eshop is beyond me. Also, I am finding these scores I'm seeing for these games really weird. It's like Nintendo is paying you people to lie. Mario Odissey is cool and all, but not that good. And it is a rushed game. Refined yes, as always, but half of what should have been. Nintendo needs some bashing. Also because they are extorting way too much money from people. I hate their marketing. They are not doing anything for the fans. As someone said, they got us by our childhoods. It sucks. Just like this game. Expand

Unusual and funny mechanisms, a bit repetitive though (visually, storytelling and fighting).

This is a top game. It plays well on the switch, graphics are fine and quite disturbing. I would say, buy it for this low price. 8 hours of game time well spend....

The story is immersive, the graphics are beautiful, the combat is amazing, and the moment I 100% the game, I was already wanting Severed 2.

This is a peculiar game and not for everyone. Given you are sensitive to the genre and the atypical gameplay, this is a true indie gem, and often on great sale (4€ in my case). The artistic direction clearly made me think of Guacamelee, whithout the omnipresent humour, and that's quite fine. The tactile gameplay can be unconfortable on the Switch (the console is to be held only by the left hand) on long sessions but it works great overall, the fights are somewhat intense with many things to manage and the story is nicely told. It's a must play for me, a must try at least. Expand

For a game so focused on the monstrous and the grotesque, Severed’s power lies in how it shines a critical and emotional light on an intrinsic part of what it means to be human.

A joy to behold from start to finish, Severed is an almost perfectly executed action-adventure title. With very successfully designed dungeons full of rewarding puzzles and a combat system that is pleasing to carry out, you’ll likely find yourself wishing you could play more of the game when it is over. That’s the only real downside – you’ll be finished with the main story after six hours and be left wanting more – although wishing you could play more isn’t exactly a complaint. If you have the means to do so, we heartily recommend giving this one a go.

I’m not going to beat around the bush; the Switch version of Severed is easily the best yet. Being touch based, the Switch’s responsive and gloriously large screen means that the gameplay shines brighter than ever before. Severed‘s unique, almost papercraft-like art style is really showcased on the Switch too, bringing its haunting world to life.
