Apr 20, 2024My question at the beginning of this review was rhetorical - Saviorless was always worth saving. Despite a relatively unexciting first half, there's a solid blend of platforming, action, and puzzles wrapped in a strikingly gorgeous presentation. If you can live with some of its vague storytelling and the weird way it handles collectibles, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Jun 6, 2025Saviorless is an enjoyable enough platformer with a premise that sets itself apart from the many other options available in the Switch eShop. There will certainly be a large player base who will miss the idea of combat, but for those looking for a more low-key experience, this will not only pass the time, but also leave them thinking long after completion. The perfect accompaniment as the nights draw in.

Apr 29, 2024There are moments when you’ll take control of another character when the narrators go off the traditional path, and these are welcomed because they add new layers to the gameplay, like melee combat, something that Antar doesn’t rely on. But, because so much of the game is told while you’re in Antar’s shoes, there’s a sense of missed opportunity. Thankfully, the game isn’t very long at all, so while this is a sore point, in the grand scheme of things it’s over relatively quickly and I was left with a fondness for the odd interludes with different characters, set dressing, and accompanying audio design.

Apr 9, 2024A weird, beautifully rendered combination of Limbo and Super Mario Brothers, Saviorless is an interesting take on an action-platformer.
